We moved Mama O because we learned at Marbella Assisted Living the Med Techs were not allowed to crush her pain medication when she could no longer swallow a pill. Also her ears were badly impacted with wax and being bed bound we were unable to take her to the Ear, Nose and Throat specialist. Marbella wouldn't bring in anyone to clean the earwax out so Mama O could hear better. By the second day Roseleaf Gradens had brought in a person to clean out Mama O's ears. Roseleaf Gardens also gave us a price per month substantially lower than Marbella for the same level of service with a private room. We learned had we moved Mama O in December of 2025 to Roseleaf Gardens from Marbella we could have saved $17,500.00 in costs. Mariah, Amanda, Veronica, Amber, Gabreille, Jesus and Lindsey were all exceptional. I highly recommend Roseleaf Gardens.

She is the person you would want looking after your loved one. If only she were the one looking after your family member. Like most care centers, they are understaffed. Residents wander around the facility. They enter other's rooms and go through their things. They get into arguements and sometimes get physical. There are not enough people there to appropriately manage the 'residents'. Many visits of mine included redirecting other residents out of my loved ones' room. Pressing the call button doesn't get you anyone to the room. DESPERATELY understaffed. My father was on hospice from Day 1 at this facility. That meant that Roseleaf provided very little care and relied upon Butte Home Health to take care of all the dirty work. Butte Home Health is not set up to be on site for all needs. My father most often was crusty eyed, never left his bed and didn't eat his meals. He had a colostomy bag and he would tear it off making a big mess. The business end of the business is not efficient. They are quite quick to require you to pay them for services - as a business should - but when they owe funds back to you after your loved ones' death - get ready to wait for many, many weeks. Excuses about people being away from their desk, let me look into this, our accounting department is in another state . . . and no one calls you back. Be sure to ask for paper documentation and receipts for all monies paid. You will need this to try and twist their arms to get your money back. It has now been over 6 months post death and I've yet to receive my refund for overpayment for care. They don't return calls. They don't respond to email. BEWARE!

My dear friend rented a studio apartment here for her end-of-life hospice care. The staff worked very closely with the Enloe Hospice team and provided excellent supportive care for my friend. The office staff is personable and efficient, making the paperwork side of things very easy. Each person who came in our room knew about our situation which tells me the communication between staff is very good. Caregivers were very caring and made a point of making sure all family/friends were comfortable as well as the patient. Meals were easily individualized for her and offered in an attractive manner. We were able to bring many things from her home and make the studio a warm, welcoming place to be. Loved ones were able to be with her any time of the day and night............and we were made to feel welcome, not in the way! My friend paid them the highest compliment by stating she felt very safe there. Anytime she called for help she received an immediate response. She was able to die a peaceful death with friends at her side. Many thanks to the team at the Courtyard for making this happen.

The grounds are immaculate, both buildings have large, landscaped back yards. My husband, my two dogs and I particularly enjoy sitting on the back porch of the Country Commons building listening to the water bubbling into the birdbath. The staff at the commons are attentive, caring and even loving to all of the residents. They have an efficient "news thread" and weekly staff meetings to facilitate good communications and continuity of care. The food is excellent, healthy, home cooked and filled with foods that feed the brain. The executive staff are all welcoming, accessible and very helpful. The owner is on site, mingles with the residence, her door is always opened and she cares about the residents and her staff that work in their home. When it came time to place my husband there was no question about where he should go. He had been attending the "Country Club" day care program twice a week for about a year, he had also stayed there a few time for respite care when I was out of town. He knew the staff , most of the residents and was comfortable there. He has now been there 10 months, is happy there, well cared for and, in some ways, he is better than he was at home. He recognizes me when I walk in, he didn't know me most of the time at home, he participates in activities and in the daily sit and be fit exercises. He interacts with the staff and with the other residents. It has been a very good experience for both of us. I highly recommend The Country Village.

I go to a lot of these types of places and they are all the same, so far, from what I have seen…read more I'm usually at these various living facilities anywhere from 3:00 to 5 hours and will I like how small this one is with two small houses for probably no more than a dozen residents if that in each house, there are zero engagement. I've been there from morning to afternoon and afternoon to evening and there's no engagement with the staff and the residents Beyond giving them food and very very occasionally bouncing a ball with them. There's no activities, art projects, exercise, just nothing at all. They have a TV on and that is literally it the entire day. The TV usually is at a volume that no one can even hear which is bizarre, since I have perfect hearing and all of the residents probably have to use hearing aids or can't hear it all. What they usually have on would be suitable for grade school children. It's just really strange. Living facilities are immensely expensive and no insurance covers it, so if I was ever going to put a family member in a place like this, they better be engaging the residents, interacting with them at least on an hourly basis, and doing more than just meal prep and getting them to and from the bathroom or their bedrooms. The staff are nice, though the majority are far too young. They seem to hire 18 to maybe 22-year-olds on average which is just strange. I guess cuz they can get away with paying them less? Not really sure.

It is hard to write this because not all of our experience with Prestige, which later became…read moreMarbella Assisted living was negative. Many good people work there and gave our Mom loving care. It is upper management and the owners that are the exception. During Mom's very last month of life our beloved Mom deserved the highest level of comfort and compassion. Sadly, a heavy corporate shift towards maximizing profit completely stripped away that dignity. I cannot give a positive recommendation for Marbella Assisted Living for the following reasons. We experienced this focus on the bottom line firsthand. In an effort to save money, we moved Mom from her one-bedroom unit into a smaller studio space. Within a very short time, corporate management raised the rent on the studio, erasing the cost savings gained in the downsizing. We were forced to move Mom during her final days because of Marbella's inflexible rules. Hospice advised us Mom would reached the point where she could no longer swallow pills. We were shocked to learn that Marbella's Medical Technicians were not allowed to crush Mom's pain medication for relief and ease of swallowing. Furthermore, Mom was bedbound and isolated by severely impacted earwax in her ears that prevented her from hearing us. Marbella refused to bring in an outside specialist to clear the wax so she could hear us. By finally moving her to a facility that prioritized her comfort over corporate earnings, we discovered we would have saved a staggering $17,500.00 had we moved Mom out of Marbella in December of 2025 when they raised the monthly cost to $9,500 per month. The new facility we moved Mom to, Roseleaf Gardens Assisted Living, had her ears cleaned on day two she was there and their Med Techs would crush her pain medication. Roseleaf Gardens in Chico proved that seniors can get far better, more adaptable care without the excessive financial burden. Please look to Roseleaf Gardens Assisted Living if you want flexible, truly compassionate care for your loved ones. The above is shared out of a desire for your loved one and family not to experience what we experienced at Marbella Assisted Living.
