This is for all you Mid-Century Modern lovers out there. The Kaufmann name came from Edgar J. Kaufmann he was a Pittsburgh Department Store Tycoon. He wanted a retreat from the harsh winters back east. The Architect is Richard Neutra this is by far one of his famous works to date. He designed the house in 1946. There is no tours of this house. In fact it is private. You will see a no trespassing sign with armed alert. So whatever you do take pictures outside of the property. I cannot put other website links on this site. I really wanted to check out the Marilyn Monroe statue that I see on social media- we did just that after our dinner. Such a fun touristy spot, considering this is my first time and I am loving it! Downtown Palm Springs is super walkable and full of character- bronze statue, murals, Palm Springs Walk of Stars, cute boutiques and lots of restaurants. I love the vibe. Although I did come across some homeless characters hanging around during our walk but we felt safe, also passed by the Palm Springs Police Dept. substation so that was great to see! I loved strolling around La Plaza, taking many family photos of statue and all the art. We took tons of photos but the best one was the "PS Loves U" sign, sure enjoyed family time here! Next time you are at Palm Springs, check it out- perfect place to kill and an hour or two, highly recommend for first timers!! (( loved it. loved it.loved it!!))

It is a very walkable town with plenty of parking lots to handle the January through March crowds. I am looking forward to another eventul Modernism week in February. All my favorite restaurants are locatated in downtown, like Farm, Cheeky's, Wilma and Frieda, Al Dente, 849, and Tropicale to name a few, with so many more like Bongo Johnny's and Broken Yolk. I love strolling the shops like Best Bookstore and Tommy Bahamas.and checking out the Cahuilla museum gift shop.

There's an admission fee, payable at the Visitor Center, which is well worth it for a sparkling clean and well-maintained trail (not even gonna talk about reparations but come on, let's do it, this fee is nothing in the overall picture.) Thanks to tropical storm Hilary and a rainier than usual winter/spring, the waterfall was incredible on my most recent visit. It's permitted to swim in the naturally formed pool underneath and swim people did, under the sycamores in a lovely shady area. The hike up can be a bit strenuous depending on the heat and the humidity; it is required to take at least two liters of water with you for the 2 mile round trip hike. Parking free in the lot. Highly suggested to visit as early as possible.

From La Quinta it's a good one hour + drive but definitely worth it! If your staying in Palm Springs proper or Joshua Tree much closer, regardless though worth it! Integratron essentially is a sound bath experience but in one of the coolest and best acoustic domes. I'll let the staff give you the history but it was very cool about learning how this place came to be and the intention behind it and land the dome sits on. This is a family owned business which makes it even more special. Three sisters own it and all of the family helps to run this space one way or another. On the day we came different cousins were sharing the duties. Love a local family run and operated space! Before starting the sound bath it's nice to explore the grounds, relax and they even have a gift shop. Nice bathrooms and plenty of parking. The system here is organized and seamless. Very great communication and guidance here. Make sure to pay attention to your emails before you come because they give great tips - like to bring blankets, dress in layers etc. As others have shared. The first 15-30 minutes is essentially going over rules, tips and history before they get started with the meditation/sound bath. I appreciate that they take everyone safety seriously and want everyone to have a joyful experience so they make sure to talk you through the do's and donts. The sound bath itself was relaxing and very soothing. The cushioned mats were premium and much nicer than I had remembered in the past. Very comfortable and nice temperature inside the dome. My only wish is that the sound bath piece was slightly longer but all in all it's a relaxing and unique experience. Would highly recommend that everyone come at least once.

Scheduling online through their website was super easy, don't forget to sign the waivers beforehand. It's a great event for a relaxing girls weekend or a single getaway. Be ready to calm yourself and just be in the moment, even possibly sleep. The grounds it is located on were very clean. Restrooms were very clean and large for accessibility. Parking is plentiful with handicap spots, all located on a dirt lot. Lots of seating areas outside as well as a cute gift shop to purchase souvenirs. Check-in was easy and admission was prompt! After overview you head up stairs and complete the sound bath. They have nose strips and ear plugs for those who choose to wear them. A really great experience, steep stairs and comfy mats to lay on. We purchased their sound bath gift bags which included a Mexican blanket, eye mask, crystal and tote. They were cute! Overall a wonderful mindful experience would love to do again.

His coat has seen better days but one definitely gets the feeling that the moose is happy to be in this desert climate. What twists of fate brought him to this lonely desert road, surrounded by cacti and tumbleweed, one doesn't really know, but I for one am glad that he is here.

He's a very enthusiastic Korean guy who sells bonsai trees from his blue Honda CRV at an…read moreintersection between Desert Hot Springs and Palm Springs. You can tell because there's a large yellow banner over his windshield that says "BONSAI." He told us the ages of all the trees he has. Some are as old as 15 years old! You ever heard that Chinese proverb that says the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago (the second best time being now)? Well this guy heeded that advice. He planted all these little trees years ago and now finally getting some dividend! We bought two that are about 7 years old. The price is dependent on the age. He gave us a deal for getting more than one, albeit reluctantly. He asked my husband if he was oriental when I was out of earshot, and said I must've picked him because he looked Asian. (He's not, but he is perhaps correct about the other point.) I couldn't really understand his instructions for caring for them, other than "put rain on it." I'll have to Google actual instructions. But I'm really glad we picked up bonsai trees from this bonsai guy. I'll remember him for as long as I can keep our trees alive!

We took the easy .75 loop as the winds picked up and clouds came and it started to rain. Overall, we loved it! The tram turns slowly around with a nice voiceover introduction of the tram. You must stand but there are railings to hold onto, if needed. I worked on my balance, which was fun, especially when we went through the towers. Overall, we stayed 2 hours and that was enough for us. We could of stayed to watch the film about the history, but we didn't. We wanted to get down to PS and have lunch! There is a cafeteria at both the lower and upper tram sites. We all loved the experience!

And needless to say, a mesmerizing tram ride back down ^o^ - Tram doesn't go all the way back down to C2C trailhead. No, from the lower tram station, gotta order an Uber :( and wait 20min for the driver to come pick you up. - No mobile service at the lower tram station. Gotta use their Wi-Fi :/ - Total Uber cost ~$30. . Ideally the tram could take you all the way down to trailhead. Next best thing is if they have an on-demand shuttle to take you there from the lower tram station. . Closed for annual maintenance from mid-Sept to mid-Oct. - They cram too many ppl (20-30) in there ): weird guy kept touching me, despite me continuously giving him space. qǐng zǒu kāi. - A whopping $36.95 on their website for a round trip. . But if you're doing C2C, only needa buy the 1-way ticket in-person at the upper station inside their gift shop: $17 total. Keep the printout receipt; gotta scan it at the tram turnstile entrance. - But c'mon, as a reward for your arduity, the 1-way ticket down should be free. Or just $1. You earned it ;P
