I have given this place a 1 star rating - not because the food didn't look nice - but because the owners (or the lady serving) was not at all accommodating to peoples needs - and I felt like she was making fun of me when I made my order.
My partner and I went there with two friends who live in Blackpool. Both me and one of our friends are on low carb diets (me because I am diabetic - and he is doing it to control weight). My friend first ordered his partners meal which was a normal breakfast. He then went on to ask me if he could have beans, or if they would take him over his carb allowance. When he asked her for no beans, due to the carb content, she replied in a smarmy manner "but you're going to have toast", which he intended to give to the birds - and it was none of her business anyway, specially when the food was being paid for and costs the same with or without beans!
I then placed my partners order, which was also a normal breakfast with nothing removed - and proceeded to ask her if it would be possible for me to have a couple of slices of bacon and 2 eggs - and she looked at me as if I had asked her for the earth and with the look on her face, she wasn't prepared to do it (I would have been more than happy to pay for them as butties without the bread), I then explained to her that I am diabetic and don't eat carbs because they affect my sugar - and again in a smarmy manner, she replied "well so am I, but they don't hurt me"! At that point, without getting upset, I told her to forget it and walked away. So she lost herself a sale. Now, whilst it was fairly busy, she obviously wasn't worried about the £10 or £12 that she lost from my sale. However, Blackpool isn't always that busy, so you would think that every penny counts.
I can not fault the way the food looked, it looked lovely - but the service stinks, if she is going to judge what people can and can't eat - and be unwilling to allow custom requests - then I for one will not be going back there.
In this day and age, there are plenty of other places who are more than happy to help their customers - and it would pay her well to learn this! read more
