I then asked for the manager to come over as its not what is expected when you go into somewhere for food, to which was met again with abruptness, to which we was trying to explain what had jjsy happened and to resolve the matter, to be told " you might aswell just leave" During this we was trying to apologise to defuse the situation due to having a child present and a young adult with autism. So we agreed, to leave as walking out the manager incharge came behind with raised voice, whilst I was leaving the venue with a child Infront of me shouting " just get out" infront of other customers , hardly the correct manner to display for someone in the customer serviced based business. To have someone show that level of aggression is close is a clear violation of personal space and unprofessionalisim " what you going to do" was the words that he used, his aggressive behaviour was wrong and infront of a child. AT ONE POINT IN TIME THIS WAS A GREAT PLACE TO HAVE FOOD IN A SOCIAL SETTING NOT ANYMORE. AFTER READING OTHER REVIEWS ITS CLEAR THAT THIS WAS NOT A ONE OFF. RUDE ABRUPT IGNORANT STAFF.

Unsurprisingly it can get busy, so be prepared to queue for a table. My favorite has got to be the Jumbo breakfast for just over a fiver - it takes some eating!

The British beef roast is different from the American version, and they did a very good job on the roast as each slice of beef was nice and tender. The Brussel sprouts and potatoes that complemented the main course were icing on the cake! I typically don't like sweets but their hot chocolate fudge cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream was a beautiful finale to my meal! Staff are friendly and efficient. The indoor dining room is cozy, while there is an option to sit outdoor as well. Their restroom has paper towels to dry your hands, which is typically not found in many restrooms here in the UK except for fancy luxurious establishments so that was a very pleasant surprise.

We chose this little family run cafe/steakhouse and it proved to be a sound decision. Generous portions of home-cooked food all round. I had the chicken liver pâté to start and it was delightful. My sister polished off deep fried brie and currant jelly & my brother in law the chilli garlic prawns. All of the plates would have passed any cleanliness inspection afterward with absolutely nothing left. For mains, my niece had a steak burger & my nephew the rump steak, both available as kids meals. For the adults, they have many choices of cut of steak cooked to your liking. I agreed with my brother-in-law to share our meals him ordering the 10 oz. sirloin (which my sister also enjoyed) & I ordered the mixed grill. We both like our steaks rare and although some places struggle to deliver, JK's did not. Excellent value and my sister's family all went off with big smiles on their faces to warmer climes.

But when I knew I'd have a free afternoon in Blackpool, I asked a friend for recommendations, and Deansgate was one of the three he provided. First off, this was one of those places where it seems everybody knows your name. That is -- except for me, everyone there was a regular. I could tell from the way the servers were interacting with the customers that they'd all been there before. Repeat customers make for a good recommendation. But don't worry -- they were friendly to me as well, the strange Yank who happened to wander in out of the cold. I ordered the Shepherd's Pie, which arrived hot, a cloud of steam rising when I pierced the top with my fork. It his the spot on a chilly Blackpool day. As I sat there eating, listening in on all the gossip being bandied about, I almost felt as if I was part of the neighborhood. Looking around, I sort of wished I ordered the fish and chips, even though my Shepherd's Pie was tasty -- because the chips that came with my meal were good, and I suspected that the fish, which I saw many other customers eating, would have been good, too. But that'll have to be for my next visit to Blackpool. I'll be back, because the food was comforting and Deansgate Kitchen seemed authentic. The real deal.
