I was on Blackpool beach and Luke (11 yr old son of my friend Ruth) said he fancied Italian for dinner so I clicked on the Yelp App on my phone and Nunzio's was the first reastaurant listed. It had received five stars from a previous visitor and I eagerly rang to book a table for that same evening! I usually hate seaside holidays and only go because my kids really love going on the beach, wasting money in the arcades and eating unhealthy junk food! So to find a five star rated restaurant in Blackpool of all places made the rest of the holiday a little more palatable! On arrival, the place was already quite busy so I thought that was a good sign. There were five of us altogether and we all chose two courses from the early bird menu. My children shared the chicken wings starter and pepperoni pizza main. Luke had tomato and basil soup with margherita pizza main. Ruth had some kind of salad for her starter and the salmon main course. I had chicken livers starter and also went for the salmon main course. The waitress who served us looked just like Cher Lloyd (of XFactor fame) and my boys even asked her if it was her! She said that she was always mistaken for Cher Lloyd when she was out and she also has a friend who looks just like Mary Byrne so the two of them together always gets lots of second glances when they are out! Anyway, the starters arrived, along with the tomato and cheese garlic bread that we also ordered. My chicken livers were a bit too well done for my liking but there was a lot of it and the garlic bread was really tasty! My salmon was also a little too well done but it was accompanied by potatoes, mange tout and carrots and considering we were in Blackpool I thought the meal was ideal and certainly an infinite improvement on the usual garbage that I eat whilst holidaying at any seaside resort! Ruth made the observation that the pizzas that our children ordered were just the same as the garlic bread starter but without the garlic! I tried the pepperoni pizza that my kids had ordered and found it wasn't as tasty as the garlic bread starter. Indeed it lacked garlic! So I suppose a good tip for all you people who like margherita pizzas is to just order a tomato and cheese garlic bread as its almost half the price and you get an extra ingredient too! In comparison to many Italian restaurants that I have been to in Leeds then Nunzio's would really only get three stars for the quality of their food, however, bearing in mind where we were, the friendliness of the staff and the enjoyment the children had from the whole evening, this deserves an extra star! £75 for five people for two courses including a bottle of wine represent fair value and if I visit Blackpool again then I would almost certainly come back here. read more

As a Glasgow and Edinburgh Yelper, I rarely find myself down South, but on a recent break to Blackpool I visited Nunzio's for the 4th time in my life and once again, I was not disappointed. I have to say, I think Nunzio's is my absolute favourite place to eat in the world. I have yet to find somewhere I have enjoyed more. From the reception we received, the décor of the restaurant, the duo of musicians who played beautifully throughout our meal....Everything was just perfect, just like a traditional Italian should be. Usually, I go for pasta in Italian restaurants. I have done each of the three previous times, but this time I decided to go for something different, and settled on the Sea bass with garlic, spinach and pesto. The presentation was fantastic, served with baby potatoes and fresh vegetables, and the fish was simply divine. It melted in the mouth, and coupled with the spinach and pesto combination, this was probably one of the nicest main courses I have ever had. I was a little concerned when it came to desert because the menu looked like one of those ones you get where the deserts have been bought in from a supplier and are served in plastic tubs, a complete no-no and absolute pet hate of mine. I was pleasantly surprised then, when the tiramisu I had was served on a plate with chocolate sauce, and it was delicious. I am not sure if it was home made but, either way, it tasted divine! Washed down with the last of our bottle of house wine, which was superb for a measly £13-ish, we were satisfied and full to the brim. Unlike other restaurants, especially ones as popular as Nunzio's, we never once felt rushed to finish our meal and get out, which can really put a complete dampener on an otherwise lovely meal. We didn't get to the restaurant until around half past 9 and we didn't leave for about 2 hours! It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and I think Nunzio's might be the sort of place that only closes when the last drop of wine has been drunk. It has a complete aura of hospitality, and every single member of staff makes you feel welcome and wanted, almost like part of the family. The food really is outstanding, nothing is rushed, the music and the wine is flowing and bellows of laughter are heard at regular intervals as the restaurant manager, Nunzio himself, does the rounds of the restaurant making sure everyone is having a good evening. Nunzios is an Italian restaurant in one of Blackpool's busiest streets. The menu is wide and diners can choose from a pizza or pasta dish to a more expensive steak or a choice from the Specials Board There is a large dining area with a further room downstairs for larger groups or parties. The food is good although the vegetables can be a bit on the boring side. The only downside is that the toilets are downstairs and after a few bottles of wine, the stairs become tricky. Parking is available outside and there is also a pay and display a few hundred metres away. read more

Fantastic authentic sicilian food. Went with my girlfriend for her birthday. Had the bruschetta to start - our friendly, knowledgable waiter was quick to point out that the bruschetta is larger than some other restaurants and is more than adequate for two diners to share. He was right! It was a fantastic starter - best bruschetta I've ever had. I opted for the arabiatta for my main and was impressed to be offered a choice of pasta (I went for the penne). I thought the starter would be a hard act to follow but Nunzio's managed to further impress me. The arabiatta consisted of a spicy tomato sauce with chorizo and green peppers. The staff were warm, friendly and knowledgable. Service was prompt and we really felt taken care of. Prices were very reasonable. This was a great way to round off our trip and something to look forward to next time we visit Blackpool read more

We can't fault this retaurant!! We live locally and have tried almost every restaurant in the area!! From walking into nunzios you are made to feel relaxed. The food is to die for and the service impeccable! If the staff are trying something new or just " messing" in the kitchen nunzios will give the customers and free " try". We have also been to tribute nights and they are fab!! The staff work really hard to bring everyone into the fun with give dancing, and giveaways. We have recommended this restaurant to lots of people and they all give it the thumbs up!!!! read more

I went here twice, on a visit to Blackpool, my first, just after my husband had suddenly died, and my brother took me from Nth Wales. It was & I guess still is fabulous, the food, the staff, the ambience, I would only go there if in Blackpool again, and would love to do so. My wife and I walked in and the owner greeted us in a friendly manner and gave us a choice of table. The place was nice and there was a live saxophonist. We ordered the food from the 2 courses for £10 deal. Unfortunately my wife's Spaghetti Bolognaise was truly awful. The meat had a sort of grainy quality as if bulked out with something other than meat, and the taste was so bland. My better half eats anything and was starving but couldn't eat it. I have the English dislike of complaining, but I very politely said 'sorry to be a nuisance but this isn't very good'. The owner seemed to take it well and took it away. 5 minutes later he returned and announced "there's nothing wrong with it." Unbelievably he refused point-blank to swap it for another of the dishes: saying he loses money on these meals anyway. I was absolutely shocked! "So, you're refusing to exchange the meal for something else?" And that was it, he told us he'd just charge for the starter but would not be replacing it. We had a discussion and at one point he thought it appropriate to imitate the way I spoke! I couldn't believe it: I said "What are you doing?" and he said "That's how you sound." Then he walked off, but came back 2 seconds later saying he would take the dish around the entire restaurant and if anyone else said it was bad, he'd give us free food for a week. We said, okay if you like. He returned with the plate of food and dumped it on our table. "You take it round." he said. The idea that we would take this half eaten meal around the other customers was clearly ridiculous. Anyway I was talking to my wife saying this was terrible service, when a voice came from behind saying 'you should have stayed in London.' It was another customer, presumably a regular whose taste buds had dulled over many years, who had been eavesdropping on our conversation (we used to live in London, but came from Coventry). The waitress was genuinely lovely and so profusely apologetic, that I get the impression she knew what a completely disgusting man the owner was. She said 'well no it's not good enough, you came for a nice meal and you didn't get it.' I think this gives you an indication of the quality of the place!
