The kids are happy. The teachers are motivated and dedicated. However, there are several negatives:
1. This is a for-profit enterprise, a LLC. It shows. They minimize expenses wherever possible. it will be a theme in all items.
2. No lunches provided. This means that a fresh cooked, warm meal is out of the question. The parents are forced to do sandwiches, re-heatable soups, and finger foods. Less than ideal. As a point of reference take Pacific Primary - no more expensive, organic, healthy meals prepared fresh.
3. The hours. More weeks and days off than most preschools. Early drop off and late pick-up are substantial costs with minimal instruction.
4. No Field Trips. Kids love going out! Exploring new environments, looking forward to an outing, discussing past outings. This type of activity doesn't occur.
5. Whose school is it? Be wary of any school that doesn't like drop-ins. Yes, helicopter parenting is bad news, but dropping in once or twice a month is not that, instead, it allows a parent to evaluate a school.
This is a school driven by cash. The kids are happy, but this is not a good reason to spend thousands. I can give my young son an ice cream daily and make him happy, this doesn't make for good parenting, and a although I appreciate him being happy, it's not enough. My son attends here for lack of a better option, at any price. Pacific Primary is clearly superior. This school should be able to match that experience (my niece attended that school). At the prices this school charges they should at least match Pacific Primary on outings, teacher engagement, and food. Even if they can't on hours. The SF preschool environment needs work, against my better judgment I welcome more oversight at this point. read more
