He did half day surf camp for three days. 9-12. I took the days off work to be with him and watch. They provide wetsuits, so helpful. The Surf teachers were all so attentive and I felt safe having him there. It was 4 teachers for 11 kids. I loved hearing the teachers surf lingo. And just hanging out for the mornings with the kids and surf friends. Teachers did a morning stretch and then got them out on the water. My son was catching waves right away. Mid-day they had snack break and made sure to reapply sunscreen. Last day they had a pizza party at the surf shack for all the girls and boys. I was able to decide…read moremorning of that I wanted to do a surf lesson this afternoon and decided for the first time to do 1:1 after a couple group lessons in my past back in my hometown. My instructor was Jeremy and from the start, not only was he able to adapt the lesson to my level but he was also nice and patient and pushed me out of my comfort zone as we got farther into the lesson. For being a newer instructor he impressed me right from the start with his clear instructions and encouragement! All the workers seemed to work together really well/ were organized without ever getting in the way of other surfers or groups. That hospitality left a great impression! 10 out of 10 would recommend to any leve surfer wanting direction, feedback or first paddles in your surfing journey!!

Now I need to say we are both snow borders and skaters so we can handle quite a bit of physical activity. However to start they had me (women) carry the biggest board 8ft all the way to the beach (about 2 blocks) with no shoes on. Now I'm 5'7 and was already dead tired by the time I got to the beach. Then we we started our lesson which was actually pleasant until we got into the water. Instead of starting us on small waves he had us go to the deeper section. Needless to say I basically drank enough sea water to be considered a fish. But that's all part of the experience so we still had a great time. Now the reason for the 2 stars..... DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT ADD ON THE PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGE. We paid $35 per person to have our experience photographed, so when the experience was over we could see it. We both got up on the boards a couple of times and was super excited to see the action shots. They said it should take 2 days to get them. Needless to say 2 weeks later and several emails and phone calls we still didn't have them! Finally the school refunded our money and the photographer finally emailed the pictures the next day. Guess what? The were AWFUL they didn't even get one shot of me in the water and none of us on the boards?! So even if they didn't refund the money I would have asked for a refund because that is just ridiculous 4 pictures in the water (none of me or of us on the boards) for about 80 bucks?! Ridiculous

Instructors were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. With detailed instructions and consistent encouragement, everyone was able to stand on the board and experienced the joy of surfing for various amounts of times. It was fun to watch when a child was able to catch his/her first wave and smiled brightly! Highly recommended!
