An injustice to BBQ. Brisket was woefully lacking flavor & texture was sad. Fries had apparently been under a heat lamp & had a tough, rubbery texture... and over salted. No fountain drinks (you can buy a can/bottle). For a location with good potential for this concept, they come nowhere near the target for those of us who appreciate what good BBQ truly is. Worst bbq experience ever. Will not return. Brisket nachos were chips with some roast like meat thrown on top with a little corn and tomatoes and a very light sprinkle of some type of sauce. Wouldn't pay $5 for it again. Smoked sausage was hard and tough. Smoked wings were burnt and over done. Dry. They were out of stock on half the menu including grilled cheese and sweet tea. Worst BBQ I've had locally. It does not do pit BBQ justice. Weird bark on the ribs, dry pulled pork, overdone chicken tenders. Only thing that we enjoyed was a kids meal hot dog and nachos. This new city center had potential. The line creek brewing anchor makes it worth the trip but the Hog Pit is a weird addition. It seems set up like these new pop up drive through only this is a walk through. You have to order on an ipad where the software is unhelpful and visually confusing. The prices are at a level of a nice sit down like Jim n Nicks but the atmosphere was modern primative warehouse. And no fountain drinks. $3/bottle and obviously no refills. Just another black mark. The food is good enough but the package deal is lacking. Definitely don't go if the brewery is closed. read more

I had the two meat combo, Brisket and Sausage with a side of mac and cheese and potatoe salad. The brisket was a bit tough but had great bark and great smoke flavor it was tasty enough that you don't need BBQ sauce. The Sauasge was incredible. The Mac and Cheese had potential but mine was cold. The potatoe salad while made in house reminded me of the plastic container stuff you buy at the store in a pinch. All in all I gave this 4 stars as opposed to 5, part in because the service was impersonal you order from a tablet and get a text message when food is done. The doorbell didn't work so I stood there watching my food get cold and watching the people work. This could have been an off day and I will say the meat was worth coming back. read more

Piss poor service! Waited an hour for 2 bbq sandwich's 2 burgers 2 bags of chips and slaw. Then when questioned about where they was with the order the manager got defensive and accused me of cussing out the young lady at the window which I had not done and had 2 witnesses to the conversation. The manager is not and should not be running anything. Piss poor management. I will never suggest this place nor spend another dime there. Oh and did I mention that one of the burgers we waited an hour on was still pink in the middle. See pic. In response to your reply: well even after you was told she was not cussed out by myself and witnesses you never apologize or stood down and continued to be aggressive. You sir should not be in charge of anything. And as far as the young lady being upset. I love catfish! When I noticed a catfish sandwich on the menu, I decided to try it twice before writing a review. This review is based on three visits as of today's lunch. Customer service is tight! Food was ready within 20 minutes each order. I am not a huge fan of tarter sauce but, on the first sandwich I omitted the white sauce that comes with the sandwich. My husband and I reached out to them to cater our rehearsal dinner - and it was a VERY SHORT notice. Both people went above and beyond to accommodate us during the whole process. New spot in Downtown Fayetteville. I couldn't decide so I got catfish for lunch & a family pack to go for dinner. The catfish was hot & crispy-- best I've had since I moved out of Mississippi! But it is a bbq place, so I had to try that, too. This pulled pork is no joke. Well-flavored even before you add sauce (and they have three kinds of sauce to choose from). The Brunswick stew is some of the best I've ever had. Next time, I'll try the ribs. They were coming off the smoker and looked so good! Soon, there will be a beer garden and an ice cream shop in the same building-- so you can get all your cravings. Every bite would pull out a majority of the roast beef, sandwich had to be with a knife and fork which wasn't available. All in all, it was a pretty big mess. The wife and I have eaten bbq at many many places in the southeast and consider ourselves fairly good judges of bbq. On a recent trip to Fayetteville, Georgia, for a doctor's appointment, we looked for bbq and decided on Hog Pit. It's located in a new city park in a building with a brewery and a sweet shop. Our first issue was having to order on a kiosk instead of a real person. However, the nice young lady at the window came out and placed our order for us. We decided to share the rib and pulled pork plate and ordered the brussel sprouts/sweet potato medley and baked beans and a very expensive side of hushpuppies (three for $3.25) We took our order and sat at an outside table overlooking the park. The first thing we noticed was the 3 bone ribs had not been cut and was one big piece of meat that was so tough I could not pull them apart. I literally had to gnaw them apart. You would think there would be at least a plastic knife in the utensil bag. Then we get to the pulled pork. It tasted like it had been cooked last week and reheated and reheated time and time again. The baked beans were not even any good. There was some off flavor we finally decided was rosemary. Who puts rosemary in baked beans? And, how do you mess up garlic toast? I don't know but this slice of white bread had no garlic or butter. The only two dishes that were ok were the brussel sprout/sweet potato medley and the very expensive hushpuppies. I should have taken the whole order back and asked for a complete refund. I have only thrown away food in a restaurant once before but that's what we finally did. A storm came up and we made a mad dash for the truck. I sat there in the truck in the rain and sent the management a quick message. The young lady that originally helped place our order called within a few minutes of my message and apologized and offered free food coupons. I politely refused saying if that's the way they do bbq I don't want any more of it. So, I guess from my review you can tell I won't be going back. I would suggest you avoid this place, too. THE RIBS WERE DISGUSTING. We went to tear them apart by hand and it literally took all we had in strength to rip them apart. They were inedible, dry, tough, and overpriced @ 23.95. It's a nice little spot right downtown by the park. It is in a sort of food hall with a brewery and an ice cream shop. Great for families on a beautiful weekend day!
