They are serving spoiled pork that is so obviously bad that the smell alone should tell any competent business that they should not be serving it. Multiple individuals were served this pork on SEP 20 2024. If you are feeling sick, throwing up, or nauseas, like my wife is and you went to Tender Pig. Seek medical attention. I cannot believe after sending it back that my wife was greeted WITH THE EXACT SAME OBVIOUSLY SOUR SMELLING PORK. This place is a disgrace. The only time the food was edible was on opening weekend(which I presume is the last time they cleaned literally anything). Service is awful, upwards of a 2 hour wait for what.. spoiled pork. You should consider closing down, making DRASTIC changes, and potentially re open. Hillbillies was a once respected, beautiful family owned establishment that had a standard for their food. My family spent nearly every weekend there. Such a shame what you've done to the place. You have no standards. In response to Owner: We definitely asked for YOU and for the 3rd time you were not there. I am not even there for this trip SIR, but I have a wife that is sick from your food so I thought I'd give you a call. I was greeted by Clay, because once again YOU WERE NOT THERE. I hope to god that he took my advice and stopped serving that spoiled pork because you may be in some deep water with sickness reports across all of Wayne County. GUY, close the place down and make a change. People will soon realize what a disaster this is -From the husband of a sick individual that ate at your establishment.

We ordered the coconut curry shrimp with mac & cheese and cabbage and the jerk chicken with rice and plantains. The coconut curry shrimp was amazing super flavorful and came in an almost buttery sauce which I keep dripping over the rice! The sides were also really tasty. I didn't love the jerk chicken only because it was a bit dry but in the Chef's defense, he did not claim that was one of his award-winning dishes. This place is depressing and has a smell that greets you at the door when you walk in. "What is that smell? I don't know, maybe it's the outdated carpet but it's obvious and it stays with you throughout your dinner. Now!!! For the worst part.......the food. There is nothing good to say about anything a party of three had. From the appetizer to the main course we found ourselves looking around for the "flavor" because it was missing. I ordered the fried flounder and i'm not sure what I got because I got two pieces and both were different. The fries were soggy and the hush puppies were down right bad. The ambiance in this place is dark, smelly and depressing. Now, I know not many people use yelp here and if you find yourself reading the reviews on this place, do yourself a favor and make your way to the front door. No worries, you can thank me later.
