After trying those main items, you can experiment from there with things like cookie crunch, pumpkin spice, loaded potato, or any other number of flavors. The downtown store was still kind enough to allow samples before buying- and I ended up getting several bags for holiday gatherings. Great freshly made product and easy service downtown. Street parking can be a challenge depending on time of day- but the downtown area is pleasant to walk no matter where you end up parking.

I'm a huge fan of anything coconut, so I was thrilled to see this flavor on display. The host was extremely gracious and offered us a sampling of any flavor. Before I noshed on a sample, I mentioned my dairy allergy and the host kindly alerted me to all non-dairy-based flavors. And, to my delight, coconut made the cut! We decided to go with a small tub of half toasted coconut and half cookie explosion. My wife and I are still enjoying the popcorn a week later and plan to revisit Clusters our next time up north! Check out their website at https://www.clusterspopcorn.com and view their sweet and savory flavors - with notes about GF and DF on each option.

In addition to their signature housemade carmelcorn, the shop also specializes in popcorn, fresh roasted nuts, fudge, chocolates, gummies and old-fashioned hard candies. Richard Baskin purchased the shop from the Dohertys in 1985. He in turn sold the shop to husband and wife Tony and Sia Bassil in 1996 and they have owned it ever since. Sia had originally been hired to work behind the counter for the Dohertys in 1977, when she was just 14. She continued to work at the shop, on and off, for several years until she bought it with her husband. My family and I visited The Carmelcorn Shop this past summer while we were visiting relatives in the area. We were exploring Downtown Easton and noticed the storefront. It looked like a really cool place and we were shocked when we saw the sign that read "Since 1931". The shop is pretty small, but it has all sorts of novelty candies. The carmelcorn smelled great! We ended up getting some as well as some old-fashioned candies for our two boys. It's nice to know that there are still old-fashioned candy shops like this still in existence. If you're visiting Downtown Easton, then we recommend that you take a stop at the Carmelcorn Shop for a trip down memory lane.

Plenty of parking & such fabulous decor. There's retail space, as well as a seating area where you can enjoy your treats. Very clean & even the bathroom decor is adorable. They have paid attention to every single detail in this space. All employees that we encountered were terrific. They are very helpful & knowledgeable of their menus/offerings. Even ordering through the website is super easy. They are very attentive & are wonderful at communication. Obviously, they specialize in tasty gourmet popcorn. There's even a sample area where you can try some flavors. The flavor options are endless... like you will be overwhelmed trying to pick. There is a sampler option so you can try a little of every flavor. They have little Sundae Cups & varied party tray sizes that would be such a lovely hostess gift or a special something to add to a buffet style gathering. They would even be such a wonderful dessert to take to a gathering. Gourmet flavors & something unique that all will enjoy together. There are tons of other treats throughout to purchase as well: pretzels, donuts, biscotti, dips, various condiments... the list goes on. Anything would make such a good gift for any occasion. I have been bulk ordering from Emma's for years! I set up a teacher appreciation popcorn bar every May for my school. The staff get very excited as they absolutely love the flavor combos & the quality of the popcorn is superior. It's great to buy it in bulk & to be able to have it fit in any theme/display you have planned (I use large planters & sand shovels as scoops). This is the first time I have stepped foot in the actual retail space after ordering from them for over 10+ years. I am so glad I picked up the order this year & was able to see the retail space. If you need a special treat for any occasion or event, get Emma's! If you aren't close by, order through the website. The quality & prices are very reasonable. Just a terrific place to get some fabulous treats. The talent & skills of those making these treats truly shines through in their final products. Such a unique & wonderful place!!

The name of the chain is a reference to Grandpa Joe from Roald Dahl's 1964 children's book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". After the success of the original 900-square-foot store in Pittsburgh, other locations began to pop up in the surrounding areas. Each one is stocked with over 250 candy bar varieties, nostalgic candies, 250 flavors of old-fashioned glass-bottled sodas, and even novelty gifts. As of this writing, Grandpa Joe's has 21 locations spread out over five states (mainly Pennsylvania and Ohio). My family and I visited the Grandpa Joe's location in Bethlehem (opened October 2019) this past summer while we were visiting relatives in the area. We came across the storefront as we were exploring Main Street. We really liked the name of the shop as well as all of the decor. The interior was loaded with every conceivable candy variety that you could think of: chocolate bars, jelly beans, gummies, hard candies, gum, fudge, lollipops, taffy, etc. Many of the candies were ones that I haven't seen, or even thought about, in many years. They also had quite a few novelty and gag gifts. My wife and I let our sons pick out a few chocolate candies to take back home. What really impressed me was the large selection of old-fashioned sodas that were in stock. One of my favorite soda brands is "Sioux City", though I often have trouble finding them. Grandpa Joe's had the largest selection of Sioux City sodas that I've ever seen under one roof. I made myself a mixed six-pack to take home. Whether you're looking for your favorite candy bar, hard candies to make "goodie bags", a funny gag gift, or a nostalgic candy that you haven't seen since your childhood, then you need to make a trip to Granda Joe's!
