They didn't code the visit as a wellness visit and coded as a meet and greet with a new doctor. This was despite me not requesting a change of primary care provider. The change was only necessary because the provider left McLeod. After I got bills from McLeod , I contacted them and they eventually corrected their own bill but they are refusing to contact labcorp with updated coding so that labcorp can correct their bill. I have spent too many hours of my time on the phone with blue cross and with labcorp and they both tell my it has to be the provider who initially ordered the blood draws that has to contact them in order for this to be corrected.

He asked me to take him to a different hospital. We went to seacoast McLeod And he was admitted. On a good note they were so very very kind and compassionate and treated his condition with the concern it deserved. It was the best hospital experience you could have asked for. My doctor is the best, he takes the time to explain things in simple terms and gives me his full attention. I've always had good experiences with the nurses and receptionists, they've been pleasant and helpful. The only area where the staff seemed to be negative was in the lab. But this was some time ago and maybe there's new staff in there now? I've never had any problems with payments and insurance, it is processed smoothly. Prescriptions are processed promptly per the rules. I would have to say the wait time is average. It just depends on how backed up they are. Sometimes I can get in and out extremely quickly and other times there is a bit of a wait. But that's true in any business. Overall I think you get what you give as far as attitude is considered. The staff is used to dealing with upset patients who aren't pleasant. If you go in there with a smile and act courteous, they will likely respond in kind. (except for the lab apparently ) My family is very happy here.

After the visit with Dr Sturcken, I was talking with the lady taking blood and mentioned an issue I thought I may have and asked if they were taking blood for my thyroid as well. She said no but she could easily add it. Dr. Sturcken literally got frustrated and stated, "I already put your charts away," and was upset that she now needed to get them back out and add that. The latest upset is due to me moving out of state. A prescription I have is ending soon and I don't have a dr apt here for three months. Mind you, it took me a year to find a new dr, so I understand the inability to see me to renew more prescriptions. I was just hopeful she could refill it for a couple more months. She said no, so I asked if I should cut them in half to hold me over and she said she can't offer advice on that. I guess just overall, I've had multiple negative experiences with Dr. Sturcken.

I also really appreciate that he's not a pill pusher, but does prescribe the meds one needs. He doesn't just throw a pill at a problem. He also refers one to specialists as needed. I cannot recommend Dr. Leonard highly enough. He's brilliant, kind, and patient. Also, Sandy, his assistant, is AMAZING! She is very quick to help and she works night and day and holidays. I can also highly recommend the lab techs and the young man who gave me the CT scan. For the first time in my life, I wasn't panicked. He made me feel at ease. Finally, a shout-out to Miss Peggy who schedules the appointments. She is wonderful and kind.
