My problems are scoliosis based but its weird...sudden adult onset following surgery. Dr. Brent of Spinal Health and Correction Center in Middleton is helping me get better when it seems no one else could. For me its a long process but I'm elderly which explains a lot. He's also gone out of his way to find ways to help me even when I'm unable to make the hike all the way to Madison. I'm grateful I found him :-)

He gets results and his goal is to get you better quickly, not have you come back every week for the rest of your life. Dan's the man! I…read morehave only been to acupuncture once and it was at Heartpath, It was a great experience and I applaud Dan for putting up with my skittishness (I am terrified of needles). The experience was like a therapy session. Dan talks with you about your daily life and how it weighs on you. Then he focuses on certain areas to relieve things like stress or pain. He placed needles from my toes to my face. It didn't hurt and he used needles that were in sealed packages. His location is very clean and comforting. It felt like I had a massage after I was finished and I was super relaxed. Like I said before, I haven't been for acupuncture anywhere else, so I can't say how Dan does things compared to another location, but I can tell you that I felt at ease even though I hate needles and that I would go back if it wasn't so expensive*. *Heartpath was actually cheaper than the other places that I checked out. I think it cost me $70 for the session and it lasted about an hour.

The wellness center has flexible hours and is reasonable for those of us who do not have insurance that covers chiropractic...me. Pain meds have unpleasant side-effects and don't address my stiff muscles or limited range of motion. Traditional chiropractors pop your joints, which is not good for you and only offers temporary relief. Dr. Wilke doesn't adjust the bones at all--he focuses on the connective tissue around the spine. He uses the Network Spinal Analysis technique, as described on his website: "NSA employs a gentle touch to the skin along specific areas where the protective covering of the spinal cord connects to the spine. Each touch works to clear up interference throughout your nervous system. With the pathways clearer, your body and brain can communicate more effectively with each other which promotes healing." I don't understand it completely, but it definitely works! I didn't realize that my joint pain and muscle stiffness were causing me so much fatigue and were interfering with my concentration until Dr. Wilke treated me. I'm also more aware of where I tense my body when I'm experiencing stress. I can consciously stop holding on to stress and anxiety. Dr. Wilke has dramatically improved my quality of life and productivity.
