    Island Pond

Went for breakfast. Had to try the renowned hash. It is as good as the other reviews state. Eggs seemed almost farm fresh. Didn't confirm but really good.

Snowmobiling in Island Pond and finding GREAT brisket hash for breakfast

A hole in the wall can often be the best place to find great food. Hobos did not disappoint. The Brisket Hash was the best hash I have had in a over a decade. I truly enjoy hash and try it every where I go. Usually I am disappointed, but every now and then I stumble upon a worthy morsel that keeps me looking for great breakfast hash. This brisket hash is reason enough to come here; however, the French toast, coffee and hospitality of Bob and Mary are more than fine accompaniments. I can't wait to come back and try the dinner version of the brisket. Low and slow is the way to go. Thank You Bob and Mary for a fabulous and memorable breakfast!

If you want the best BBQ in new England...stop here! We had the brisket, beans and coleslaw with a side cornbread muffin.... Hands down best place and worth the stop. Our compliments goes to the chef Rob.

Stopped in for lunch and they over filled me. Got the brisket (mmmmm). Baked beans. Mmmmm. And the honey butter in the corn bread was excellent.

Libbey's Meat Market - Looks so good, but wasn't. Was possibly fried while still frozen. All the breading fell off when bit into and gross

I grabbed some chorizo which I'm super excited about because I haven't been able to find any since moving here from Los Angeles. I haven't tried it yet, so I'll update my review after I do. I was super excited about the FRIED CHICKEN cause it looked delicious, but as soon as I took my first bite I regretted buying so much of it. Although the breading on it had an excellent taste, most of it crumbled off the chicken and exposed gross looking pale chicken. The skin of the chicken was definitely not fried properly and appeared to be partly raw. Once I bit into it, the chicken felt chewy and was partly pink inside. I got 5 wings and wished I had only got one to try cause I couldn't eat any of it. My husband thinks the chicken was read and fried while still frozen which kept it from frying properly. How can you skip steps in cooking and expect your customers to be happy and come back?? The shop itself is nice and has a big assortment of meats, but my review is based on what I purchased (fried chicken) which was pretty disgusting.

I needed a specific cut of lamb which is not particularly normal. As a butcher, they freeze…read moredirectly after butcher so it tasted so fresh, even better than fresh. Anyway, nothing really is more worthy of care than delicious meat, and you don't have to pay much extra. And they are friendly and helpful. You name it. Why go to the grocery and pay 20% less for an assembly line butchered animal when you can have locally farmed animals, some elsewhere but still very good!

This brewery was known to be superior 8 or so years ago. Us hop heads in CT dreamed about it but never tasted. We were curious, their location was intriguing. It also made us skeptical. So the snow is falling, it's approaching 4pm, the drive brings you up a hill on the dirt road. Add beer to the uncertainty of the moment, it was perfect for anxiety, excitement and first tastes. Draft one was a nitro stout. Yeah, like Guinness but... UNBELIEVABLE. Just that good. Then an IPA close to their origin. Simple. Again, UNBELIEVABLE. Easy sell, I bought each 4 pack available. Asked for a restaurant in Montpelier. The Three Penny Taproom was... UNBELIEVABLE. (Chickpeas, Chicken Nuggs and Hill Farmstead all over the place.) Of course the brewery guys recommended it, and the gas station at Willey's in Greensboro. So we survived the "brief flurry", and a Taproom extraordinaire. The beer is ready for a Connecticut Christmas and will be compared to the beer from Burlington, Stowe and Deerfield. All great brews. The anticipation of enjoying Hill Farmstead beer was just as exciting as the trip and first taste. So, If you need a trip, find them. No complaining about the distance and remoteness, please. It's where they are. Yeah, you can find the beer in other places in state. I look forward to getting it at those spots. I look forward to seeing the brewery in the summer!

A bucket list of mine item has been achieved wonderful beers. It takes a little effort to get here.read more
