I picked out my fabrics, and the ladies at the fabric counter were great about cutting the fabric as well as giving me recommendations on sizing for the blankets. I didn't have to wait long to have my fabric cut, and the fabric seems pretty nicely cut. The cashier was very friendly, and I didn't have to really wait in order to check-out. I didn't bring in any coupons, but she applied one of the coupons she had sitting around to my order which saved me about $5. I definitely appreciated that! This is a nice and organized store that seems to be well-kept with knowledgeable employees. I'll be back.

As the store only carries one or two copies of every individual item they have, you can never really be "sure" they're going to have what you have in mind. Having one copy of everything frees of way more space to have way more variety. You can get faux plants, dinnerware and kitchen supplies, kid's decor, pet supplies, mugs and other drinkware, furniture, gigantic rugs, gourmet pre-packaged treats, pillows and blankets and other soft bedding, mirrors, wall art, and seasonal stuff. Prices aren't particularly cheap. I'd say they're decently mid-range for home decor stores like this unless you catch things on clearance. When they're clearancing out items, you can get some *really* nice deals. Because of the "one copy of items" thing, the store can regularly feel pretty cluttered - and you should make sure that your potential item isn't damaged or anything before purchase. Expect to spend a freakishly long amount of time in this moderately-sized store just because there's *so* much stuff to look at on every shelf. Items are organized by area/use, though, so if you're only looking for blankets, all blanket options will be in the same area (same with mugs, journals, etc.) Staff is generally decently friendly. Check-out can be a bit slow (mostly because of all of the breakable items) depending on what time of day you come.

During almost every visit I find something that I'm surprised they have. There are several items i now purchase here regularly. Some of my favorites are makeup sponges, dental floss picks, hairspray, vinegar, toilet bowl cleaner, disposable plastic food containers, plastic forks/spoons etc. I go here a lot for work to grab inexpensive breakroom supplies, fun decorations for our breakroom, super glue, office supplies like push pins and rulers, magic erasers etc. It's not about being cheap to shop here. This is a newer Maurices location right near the Target over near this new shopping district. It's…read morea pretty large store, and it offers a shoe area, multiple dressing rooms, a plus-sized area, and a regularly-sized area. It's bigger than most mall Maurice locations that I've seen. Maurices sizing goes from a size 0 all the way up to a size 24. Their plus-sized selection is smaller (about 1/4 of the store) compared to the regular sizes, but it's still quite a bit of clothing. Staff is really what makes this store. Staff is helpful without being pushy. They happily will open a fitting room for you, and they occasionally will check in and ask if they can help you find items. Lots of other people were taking advantage of that, and staff was helping them put together great outfits by making suggestions. They are really good about regularly using your name and making you feel like a valued customer. I was looking for a scarf in a different color, and the staff was really helpful. They looked it up on their own system, double-checked throughout the whole store when the system said they didn't have it, and then offered to call down to the Waterloo location and see if they had one for me. The entire experience was very friendly, and I always got the feeling that the staff genuinely was having an okay time working there and wanted to help. Price can be a bit high depending on the items. I'd recommend trying to take advantage of their sales; they regularly have discounts or "Buy One, Get One ___" sales which help lower the prices. They also offer a free rewards program that gives you a $5 credit for every $100 you spend, so that will you save a bit more money. Finding specific items can be a bit difficult, though, so you may need to ask for help. For example, their scarves are placed in multiple areas throughout the entire store, so it can make it hard to compare all scarves at once. However, with such helpful staff, it really isn't too hard to eventually find what you're looking for. Maurices has nice clothing, but what really makes this store is the staff. This is probably one of the best customer service experiences that I've had in awhile.

Everything was bright and easy to shop - though I was struggling to find t-shirts in my size. (Probably because it was around the holidays; a lot of middle sizes were sold out) Serious quality in everything they sell with t-shirts - especially ones that are printed ASAP to reference recent events in the world - being their big star product. You're supporting small business here as it's a Unionized shop and store, primarily from domestic suppliers, and a member of the Fair Labor Association. If I remember correctly, they primarily screen print from Des Moines, right here in Iowa. If you really want to know about all this nerdery, they actually have their exact suppliers and how they've certified and chosen them on their "About Us" on their website. Despite that, none of the prices are really all that high. I've bought way more expensive clothing from the mall. I love being in here, and I love their sense of humor on their products. They have their store as organized as it possibly could be with (unlabeled but clearly grouped) sections for things like teachers, readers, LGBTQA+, Midwest pride, pink pony vibes, Taylor Swift vibes, etc. Raygun primarily has t-shirts, magnets, stickers, post cards, mugs, and other home items to help showcase your interest or support of any of those things. Sometimes I wish it had a bigger selection of what they print on because it's hard to bring another t-shirt or mug back home when I already have so many. It's connected to the Books on Main in the back of the store, but they ask you don't bring merchandise between the two locations. No bathrooms available here.

Raygun is an Iowa staple and even if you're not from here, you will get the appeal. There's something for everyone and Raygun is not afraid to take a politcal stance with their shirts. I usually buy something here every time I visit. This time it was a Halloween shirt: Hocus Pocus and Chill! The shirts are original designs and nothing is outrageously priced. Really great selection. Cashiers are always happy! Don't forget to check out their cards, too.
