The sewing section is absolutely pitiful. There is barely any crafts just home decor garbage. I have been hearing online that they are expanding their sewing section when I asked the woman at the cutting counter. She said very rudely wishful thinking. The workers kept throwing boxes behind us and breaking stuff before even stocking them. They also pushed us out of the way and out of aisles by blocking them and hovered over us acting like we were annoying them. If you're that huffy puffy, don't work in sales. Almost every single aisle was blocked off by pallets of boxes and workers throwing things around. Not one worker said hello or asked if we needed anything. I'm appalled at how many times I was shoved out of the way while looking for my crafting needs. I'll be sticking to the Albany location from now on! read more

Hobby Lobby opened a few weeks ago in Queensbury, and I've stopped in with my family a couple of times. It's not a very inviting experience, as the staff does not seem friendly or outgoing. Some of the kitschy memorabilia is fun and intriguing, but virtually everything in the store seems like it is priced four times more than it should cost, certainly far above what the local market can bear. The worst aspect of the store is the exclusionary nature of some of the religious-themed home decor items. Well, ALL of the religious-themed home decor items, since it's Christian crosses left and right but not a Star of David or Crescent and Star in sight. The Glens Falls/Queensbury region is pretty diverse and inclusive, so seeing the apparently small-minded, limited assortment of home decor items representing just one religious point of view is really disappointing at best and bigoted and hostile at worst. If you really believe what you say you do about religious freedom, Hobby Lobby, don't be so insecure, welcome all believers into your store and cater to their needs. Get with it, it's 2014 for Pete's sake. read more

Hobby Lobby - Overturn it! - Hobby Shops Near Me - Queensbury, New York

I was introduced to the Hobby Lobby stores about 14 years ago when we lived in MS. Before and after this short period of time I had to rely on Michaels and AC Moore. I stopped into the HL last night and felt like I was catching up with an old friend. So many boxes, baskets, tables, beads and craft supplies. An almost endless selection of wall decor, fabric, baking supplies and scrap booking materials. My husband and son were waiting in the car, so my visit had to be brief - this time. I look forward to an opportunity to leisurely peruse the aisles in peace and without a time constraint. Some prices can be a little steep, I admit, but I am a big girl and it's my own fault if I don't make smart choices. Bring it on, HL, I am up to the challenge, LOL. read more

I order canvas prints online and took them into hobby lobby to have the stretched and frames. The guy who initially helped me was really nice. I went back the other day to pick them up and the lady was extremely rude to me, she walked me up to pay and the girl at the register didn't even acknowledge me just rang me out while talking to a coworker, she didn't even make eye contact. I got home and my canvases weren't even stretched correctly. Not shopping here anymore. read more

Since nobody talks about it. I will I guess, Hobby Lobby is so manipulative, same with Micheals. Their prices are always so expensive. $20 dollars for a small thin statue at Hobby Lobby, $10 for a little package of figurines that are less then an inch tall. But that's not necessarily the bad thing, the bad thing is that everything is on sale. 40, 50, 60, 90 percent off. Now sales on things once and a while is amazing! But both of these stores and many more have the same sales on the same things all the time. As many know, when you walk in/out of Hobby Lobby there is furniture. But you look ontop of the furniture, you see a sign. "30% off ALWAYS%" So, why not just make the price of it the price 70% of its usual. It just makes me so mad. It's such a small thing that probably a lot of people fall for. Having things so expensive but their on a sale all the time just so people think they are getting an amazing deal. Also, if you were to really think about it more than I have here that I already wrote. They can't honestly make a profit of buying all this furniture to have them be marked down 30%. A Shoppers Dream If you love to decorate your home this is the place to go. They have everything and anything you could imagine. The prices are unbelievably cheap. Check every week. Half of the store is 40% one week and the other half is 40% off the next. I'm addicted. However, don't expect a friendly smile or great service when you need help. To sum this place up in two words: really nifty! Was there for an hour and there was still more to see. Tried to mostly window shop and left with $20 worth of items, but it was $20 well spent. Great for artists and crafters, home decor enthusiasts, and holiday nicknacks. read more

I love Hobby Lobby! Contrary to what Reviewer, Alan D writes, I find HL VERY inviting and the staff very helpful. As many know, HL is a Christian company. As I have never specifically looked for The Star of David or any other religion's articles of faith, I cannot reply to that piece of criticism. As for price, HL is ALWAYS having 30, 40, 50% off sales. Also, there are usually coupons either in their flyer or on-line. HL has great home décor items that you usually don't find, especially in this area which doesn't have a great choice for shopping. read more
