I definitely love coming here to get odds and ends for my home, as well as get designer trinkets for family. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. I've experienced them dropping what they're doing at the moment to guide you to your goal or consult on your hobby needs. My best service came in the framing section from a guy named Dillon who went above and beyond to make sure my artwork was framed perfectly! The items here are of good quality; I haven't needed to return anything for being broken, weak, or subpar. The prices are always "discounted" but nothing breaks the bank. Hobby Lobby has a lot of merchandise and a decent amount of variety when it comes to basic hobby supplies. The employees have always been real friendly but It seems that most of them are not really "tuned in" with hobbies, arts and crafts, decorations, etc. On several occasions I've asked if certain items were in stock and I've been told, "no." After some searching I find the exact item I'm looking for in the store. It took a while to find it of course which is why I asked in the first place to save time. I wonder if they have a high turnover rate, which would explain why so many of them act like it's their first or second day on the job. I certainly won't blame them because they do try. read more

I want to say first and foremost that I love the fact that the aisles are wide enough to get around the store, as well as get by other patrons. I also want to say that 3 seperate employees said hello within my first minute of being in here, and they were smiling. Smiling scores huge with me. So on first impression, it seemed like if Michael's or other craft store went Wal Mart size. Kind of like the Best Buy of crocheting. But as I wandered through the bizillion shelves and displays, I found all kinds of really cool stuff. I have never seen so many different slot car tracks in one place, not even Toys R Us. Or model rockets. Or model planes, ships, and cars. If it is a diversion for you, or maybe even part of your job, there are crafty cool fun things to help you get it done. I was surprised how cheap things were. Having been stamp and scrapbook stuff shopping with my mother and sewing junk shopping with my wife, I have seen some outrageous prices for things from time to time. So then I actually had some stuff in mind I might want to get. Several employees were more than happy to help me find things and knew quickly where the things were. By the way, I don't want to give the impression that there are armies of people standing around waiting to help you find your particular knick knack or doodad. Every employee I saw was busy, and they all took time to interrupt what they were engaged in to assist me. And smiled as they did that. Impressive. This was my first time in a Hobby Lobby. I must say, I am quite impressed with the selection at this store! It was definitely a lot larger than I expected and well stocked full of craft supplies. But not only are there crafting things....there are puzzles, toys, decorations, etc. The flower section is stunning. If you love crafting or kitschy home decor this is the place to go! The store is gigantic and definitely dwarfs Michael's. They always seem to have a 40% coupon and I often find items cheaper here as opposed to Michael's. Plus there is a large home decor section and they have items to fit just about every type of room theme. Also, since it is around the holidays they have an enormous Christmas selection. Since the store is quite large, it's a lot easier to navigate and I feel like I can actually move my cart around the store without having to dodge people/merchandise with each step. read more

I'm like a kid in a candy store here. They have everything you can imagine for home decor, scrapbooking, sewing, crafts, and other...HOBBIES. Literally, they're a hobby lobby. They have the largest stamp collection of any store I've been to on this side of the mountains. Stamps for every occasion. They also have a large selection of ink. If you're in the market for wedding supplies/favors, though the selection is limited, you'll find some goodies. They have guest books, ringbearer pillows, flowergirl baskets, jewelry (quality questionable), favor bags, and more. I'm not a scrapbooker, but I was impressed with the size of the scrapbooking area. They have to have eveyrthing you could ever want for scrapbooking. They have a huge collection of Christmas ornaments and decorations already. Also noteworthy is the vast selection of children's hobbies. This is an exccellent time of year to get the kiddos into model building/painting, puzzles, beading, bedazzling, cross stitching, etc. Hobby Lobby is your place for all these goodies. I saw a lot of employees walking around but when I was clearly looking for help, they all had somewhere else to be all of a sudden. One of the three I spoke with told me she was on her way to her break but she would send someone to help me. Fifteen minutes later, I left without making a purchase. Had someone come to assist me, the $150 in my purse would have ended up in their cash register. Pretty items, but no one to help=no sale! read more

Then when they do call other cashiers they take the people at the end of the line first are they serious??!! Hire more people or train your management better. If I could give them a negative score I would! ON MY BIRTHDAY I HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE. Going into hobby lobby, I automatically didn't feel trusted because they HAD SO MANY employees just walking around not doing anything, just watching customers. But, if you asked them for help they'd be like "One moment please," and never helped you. So I never really had been in this store I was wondering around looking for a certain item. I was in to iron on patches at the time and had some patches I bought from Walmart in my purse because I needed to see if they had the other ones I was looking for, and so I didn't buy doubles. Well, while I was looking at the SMALL section of iron ons I was also looking for my husband. When I looked down one isle I reached in my purse and and grabbed the patches I already had, next thing you know I get suspicion of the situation and try to show them my purse and again they didn't even want to look. My husband was infuriated at this point, they didn't find anything and still followed us to the register. THE EMPLOYEES were snickering and just saying very rude and inappropriate things that I wouldn't imagine any employee too say. After waiting for five minutes while not even being acknowledged with a "will be with you in a moment" another employee walked up and started helping another customer right in front of me that hadn't even been waiting. This is my new favorite store! I just moved to Kennewick and there was no Hobby Lobby where I came from. I walked into the store and I felt like I was in a candy store. I seriously can't believe how many items they have in that store, it's so huge! They have some of the best home decor I have seen, so many fun and unique items that would go great in your home. I love the selection this store has to offer. After having a great shopping experience back in the paint section, the check out lady ruined what would be a perfect experience. I was even overly friendly after the absolute struggle to portray any level customer service. I am sure she must have been having a rough day, because she couldn't find it in herself to say hello, or let alone thank you or have a good day. The bathroom was disgusting!!! There was toilet paper everywhere and toilets were filthy. There's a sign that says let someone know if restroom needs attention and I did and the lady had attitude and said yeah it's because no one knows how to flush the toilet and clean up after themselves. HORRIBLE customer service . Very disappointed in the the lack of customer service and when you do find help to report broken glass , you are met with a negative attitude. I was purchasing 2 baskets full of decor. I go to pay and an item was marked incorrectly by the staff . There was another price tag on the back which I did not see (recent back surgery prevents from lifting) I got the worst attitude . Another employee even agreed the price should be honored and she rudely tried to explain the code system of markdowns . No idea why , I should not be aware of this as a non employee . While moving the big piece of art that I was no longer purchasing , the employee Elisabeth T.. employee # T-1514 carelessly hit me with it. I went to explain to my husband why I wasn't taking the item and she was interrupting so rudely . On the way out , she hands me the receipt in case "you people want to return it". Breaks my heart. I used to love this store. Better training might help . NO STARS. Had to choose the minimum to post. read more

HORRIBLE customer service!!! Had to order some knobs for a project I was working on for Xmas and since they were on sale at the time, I was given a rain check. I came back two weeks later and was directed to the Customer Service checkout. I waited in line and asked them about the knobs and I had other items I was purchasing, they took my rain check to look to see if they were in and proceeded to help other customers behind me. After they checked, I was told that they hadn't arrived yet. So I wanted to purchase my other items and they made me go to the back of the line. Another two weeks later, I went back and decided to just get different knobs because it was three days before Xmas and I had to finish my project. I took the new knobs to the Customer Service checkout again and asked if I could just get the sale price on the new knobs because my other ones still weren't in. She called another lady over (same lady from previous time) and asked and the lady said "No, it has to be the same sku # and since these ones were different, she could give them to me for the sale price". I told her that The other ones were still not in and so I need to finish my project. She said that other ones may never come in if the warehouse doesn't have them but she still can't give the other knobs to me for the sale price. I think the total discount would have been $6! Completely ridiculous! I will NEVER shop there again which is a shame because I have always loved their stuff! I can't believe that's how they treat their customers! Anywhere else would have just honored the sale price. They go on sale every other week anyway, it would not have hurt them. read more

Hobby Lobby sure is big, but an awful lot of the floor space is used up by decorating bric-a-brac. So if you are in the market for home decor, check it out! I think the quality of Craft Warehouse is better. I am alarmed by their anti-woman corporate policies so won't be shopping at Hobby Lobby until they make some changes. read more

I have walked all over the huge store trying to find someone to help me and they were all up front at the registers doing their employee meeting. Not sure why they couldn't take care of this before they opened. I had to flag one of them down to ring me up and when I asked her where something was, I couldn't find it, I got "I don't know." Terrible customer service. I went into the store after reviewing their on-line deal which stated 40% off any one item in the store. Upon checkout, I asked if I could take advantage of the deal I saw. They advised me that I could not due to not having printed the coupon. They advised that I could pull it up on my phone, however, I did not bring my phone with me. They advised that I would not receive the deal. Again, terrible customer service! Manager I spoke to in the Kennewick store was named Kandy. Customer service manager I spoke to at the corporate office was named Melissa. Take your money some place else! They don't care about their customers at all. My situation would have been a simple fix but instead they lost a customer forever. read more

I recently purchased votive candles for a wedding that I was helping with and at the time of purchase, was told by the cashier that the candles would be on clearance the following week. The cashier advised me that I would be able to bring my receipt in the following week for a price adjustment. I attempted to have the price adjustment and the manager Ashley would not grant this. She told me that I needed to have taken a "picture" of the items on my cell phone to prove that I had purchased the items (apparently an original Hobby Lobby receipt is not good enough.) I tried to explain to her that the cashier that helped me did not tell me the picture was necessary and because the items were used in a wedding the previous weekend, they are no longer at my disposal. Ashley, the manager, proceeded to then explain to me that the cashier that helped me was a new employee and did not know the "picture rule" yet even knowing this information, still refused to help me. Up until this point, I was a loyal Hobby Lobby customer and would regularly shop there. I will never return. Poor customer service is unacceptable. I highly advise others to not shop there. read more
