So I need a final gift for a late Christmas get together and I was ordering online but as I'm doling the search I saw it was in stock and available at the local B&N at The Fountains so I think HEY! I'll just go get it now! It's about 2:30. Well I haven't graced their doors in Years! So as you walk in there is a "help desk" and I think hey ask them, it's better than wandering around for 20 minutes searching for that section. So I go up to the desk and ask the lady where the Bible's are and she says follow me ... and I do. And of course it's like Going to Costco for a Rotisserie Chicken... they are all the way in the back. Good move using the help desk. Because I'd have thought the most famous book ever in print would be closer to the front but I was wrong. I thanked the lady an began to peruse the section for the one or one like what I wanted ... I found 2-3 I wanted to sit down and compare... there was a one chair at the end of that book stack. So I did sit a minute and go thru some pages the I remembered seeing another one on the shelf I wanted to see if it had red lettering .. so I got up and went to get it and came back to the chair and now a lady was sitting in it, playing games on her phone. So I'm standing there with 3 books looking for a chair.. I wander around, all thru the kids area, all thru several other stack of books and sections, no chairs period. It appears the Bible section chair is the ONLY chair in the back of the place... as you go back forward I found just 2 more chairs, occupied. Back in the day, years ago when I was a semi regular at B&N, there were chairs everywhere! At the ends of all the stacks. There was even a lot of chairs in the children's area for reading circles. Today I saw People on walkers and canes trying to shop, who I bet would have appreciated a lowly CHAIR to sit in and read a paragraph or two, to decide if they wanted to buy the book or not... that's what it used to be about at B&N, reading... and getting SA book to take home... oh sure you could TRY to hobble all the way BACK to the front of the mammoth store to the Starbucks cafe and sit there but it's full of teens laughing and giggling & drinking free water and head some adult readers but the on is the tables are all full and it's noisy boisterous, with coffee machines bubbling and spewing. And all you want is nice semi quiet place to sit and look at the book a few moments, without having someone steal it so they can sit and play telephone games. So anyway, I make my choice and move to the front to pay and leave.... There are, I counted 17 people in line to check out. One cashier. Now the help desk has 5 ladies. But not the checkout. 4 days after Christmas. When people are making exchanges, cashing in gift cards and Barnes Bucks or whatever they are called that kids save up for every time they buy books... or toys they earn points they can cash in, if they can find their account or card for new toys or books... you learn a lot of this by over hearing as you stand in line for 40 MINUTES waiting to simply buy the one book you chose and LEAVE. After the 30 minute mark my back went into spasms. I can't a tan for long periods of time, I should not be standing in a line this long just to buy a Bible at the bookstore with 5 cash registers 4 days after Christmas. Finally at this point one of the help desk ladies comes over be cause the line BEHIND ME now is like 17 waiting as well, and I progressed about 8 thru. Things pick up now and move twice as fast with two cashiers. At the 40 minute mark I finally get to the counter JUST as Second Lady from the help desk also comes over and opens a 3rd register. I tell my cashier NO. I don't have a B&N card, no, I don't want one or to join any club, I just want to pay for my purchase and GO. And that it's RIDICULOUS you have people standing in this line for 40 minutes! I pay and take my Bible and leave. It took me all of 2 MINUTES for my transaction. If you have and expect exchanges & Returns , you need a separate area for that thru the first of January. Not at the checkout lane. It's too time consuming and inhibits other customers from simply completing their shopping trip, paying and leaving. And why at 2:30 with 17 people in a congested line do you only have ONE CASHIER 4 days after Christmas?? School is still out, people are still off from many jobs, it's a SUNDAY, the store is what I would call FULL. ‍‍ One Star for the lady at the help desk who took me all the way back to the Bible's section.

Fridays are their restock days and in my experience, going here any other day isn't worth it if you're looking for trading cards. You might get lucky and find something leftover on Saturdays but if you go here on Sundays you're picking through the bottom of the barrel. I imagine Tuesdays-Thursdays are the same. Even if you show up on a Friday like I did today, the store could get screwed over by their distributor and receive limited stock. Otherwise this place has a large selection of games, collectibles, and toys. They also have a cafe which I haven't tried yet.

Is very knowledgeable and courteous and was able to get the furniture delivered in three day. This store has a great selection of great quality furniture. We came to El Paso without any furniture and he had us fully furnished in three days. It is a great store and was far better than many of the furniture stores we visited. The delivery team was very professional and got our furniture unloaded quickly with out any problems. I also liked that they called ahead and arrived when they promised they would. The whole buying experience was great!! I highly recommend this store and would definitely come back. They are way better than most of the furniture stores I have purchased from in the past.

So, I was coming up on the end of my deployment and I was looking to rent furniture this time…read morearound. I stumbled upon Cort while looking around online and noticed that they had a military deal and it seemed doable, so I ended up contacting them. This was probably the best decision I could have made. I worked with Monica Soto and she is one of the most professional people I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. She accomodated me as much as possible while trying to hammer out details while I was still overseas. She was patient every step of the way and made it easy to get everything squared away. On the day of delivery, I dealt with a man named Romo I think. He showed up and offered me respect and courtesy as we went over the paperwork and brought in all the furniture with his partner in a timely manner. He brought out a variety of lamp shades to make sure I was completely satisfied and was a great person to talk to overall. Great person. The day after delivery, I decided I had no need for the dining set and asked Monica if I could trade it for a TV. She said she'd do one better and offered me a TV stand too! It's been several months with the furniture and I've been happy with it all the way through. I'm leaving El Paso soon, so I'll be returning the furniture but I have to say that Cort did right by me from beginning to end and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a more flexible solution to furniture and even moreso to my brothers and sister in the Army, especially if you have deployments, a PCS, or an ETS coming up. Like them on Facebook because they occasionally take a piece of clothing or jewelry and update it. Those pieces go fast. Basically everything that's not clothing (purses, jewelry, records, I even saw a PacMan arcade game once) is right at the front. I'm always in this section too long, but I always find the coolest stuff. One of my favorite things I've found in this section so far is my super cute elephant necklace. Right next to this section is the clothing (and yes they have a small men's section). The clothing is pretty organized so its easy to find what your looking for. There's no point in going in great detail about this section because this is what you would expect from a vintage shop. And down the stairs is where you'll find the art. This portion is very open, but I was told they have plans for it. And pricing is really great here, but every time I seem to go in they're having a sale so I always feel like they're just handing it to me for pennies.
