I love hobby lobby, the store is full of pretty much anything you can think of that has to do with art, crating or decor. The store is huge and has an amazing selection of products available. They aren't the most affordable store around but they always have a 40% coupon available online you can use on their website. So make sure you save it to your phone prior to your visit. I found out today the coupon doesn't work on everything, but it does work on most items. If the product says 'your price' on the packaging, the coupon won't work. The store isn't open on Sundays and they usually close around 8pm. The service here is ok, I wish there were more people around the store helping because unless you shop at this store a lot, it's hard to find what you're looking for. They don't even have the aisle markers up like most stores. If you are in the area, definitely give them a try. read more

Very spacious Hobby Lobby- the place to go for anything related craft and home decor. The floral collection is top notch and best time to get them is when Floral section goes on 50% sale. They keep updating with the Seasonal decor items , and with a little creativity you can come up with endless ideas and they have idea books to help you with as well. Register to the email, and you will always have 40% off coupon in your mail. Save it for using on any full priced item. Keep checking emails and always buy the items on 50% sale, that's the best price you can get. All the items in the store goes on sale at some point. Just got back from this store and have to say I'm very happy with my experience. I did not get the "above the customer" attitude that is so predominant with hobby stores. The young men behind the counter were very helpful from the moment I walked through the door until I left. When I had a question about a part they were very helpful even though they did not have exactly what I needed. Offering to match and order what I needed if I brought my plane in for comparison due to it's age. They are also clearly into the r/c's and excited to talk cars. A plus to me.. Always a great selection of arts and crafts and home decorations at good prices. Everyone should check it out for seasonal products. Lots to choose from. Lots of Christmas decorations. Lots of different kinds of craft supplies. You need to figure out what you need with so many choices. Everyone are keep telling me since I have so many hobbies , including making personalized items, I should go to Hobby Lobby to buy my materials. I finally did. I compared most of things I needed to JoAnnes and eBay and Amazon but it was a better choice to purchase my materials from here. Friendly staff. Lower pricing and many options to choose from. Also if you wanna make this coasters in the picture, don't buy any basswood thicker than 1/32 of an inch. And there are two types of 1/32 , fragile one or strong one. Definitely buy the fragile one if you have little details like my pictures and add the string one on the bottom layers. It's good they have a liberal return policy. The ITEMS in the store are cute, amazing and cool! Those get 5 stars. The CLEANLINESS of the ladies washroom is disgusting!!!!!! Every stall was filthy! Worst than gas station washrooms! I posted 2 pics and those were the "clean" stalls!!! I did NOT want show what was in the bowls or on the seats..!! My daughter couldn't even use the washroom it was so gross. We had to put back all our items because there was NO WAY I was allowing her to go in there and management (a short male w/ glasses) only wanted one register open & we could not wait any longer.. The staff almost acted as if I were slapping them by asking where items were (and you'll ask as this place is HUGE) and troubling them for a can of Looking Glass Spray Paint. If I could rate it ZERO stars I would. If you read the comments, the common theme is the HORRIBLE customer service! I bought some items and the paper jammed as the receipt rolled out. Well, the "receipt" was BLANK. Nothing to identify the store, products, day or date of purchase. Destiny, the Customer Service MANAGER, actually handed me the blank receipt and stated there was NOTHING she could do to issue me a proper receipt!!! I asked to return the items and repurchase them. She stated that couldn't happen either. Then she proceeded to argue with me that I had a proper receipt...WITH NOTHING ON IT!!! Needless to say I was furious! How could I return or exchange these items with a BLANK RECEIPT? It took an Assistant Manager to resolve what should have been a NO BRAINER for a Customer Service Manager. Frustrated by my lack of supplies, I searched for a comprable alternative to the wretched Michaels. Hobby Lobby seemed to be a nice alternative on an easily accessable Harlem avenue, I ventured down. Drat. They don't have actual 'wire' floral wire, but the stupid crap that is wrapped in green fuzzy stuff. Yucky. After roaming around for about 20 minutes looking for my sacred item, I asked the girl in framing if she could help me. She got the actual store manager to walk me around the store to find ALL of the different kinds of wire they have in the entire store. Yes, ALL of the wire. After wandering around with the store manager who was an affable man who understood exactly what I was looking for even though they did not carry it, we determined it is called piano wire and it has a specific gauge. He recommended a hardware store.... Epic fail. But, I still decided to take a walk around the store for other supplies. Amazing finds and most of the store was 30% to 50% off. Christmas items were 90% off!!! The cashier told me another cool thing about the store, when they get shipments they put EVERYTHING out on the floor. They have no backstock and they don't re-order anything. So, if you are shopping here and you like something, make sure you buy as many as you want....they may not have it again. Hobby Lobby is the mecca for crafters and decorators. Way more affordable than its main competitor M@&*!#'%. They have tons of fake flowers, candles, home decor items, paint, fabric, and scrapbooking accessories to just name a few. I am a big fan of their home decor and Christmas decoration items. Home decor items range from country style to shabby chic to gothic. I got an amazing deal on a set of three gothic style canisters that I antiqued. A few weeks later I found a comparable set on Horchow (Neiman Marcus's home furnishing cousin) that cost over $500. My HL equivalent cost me under $40.00. You must have patience though because sometimes you won't find that one prized item. There is usually always a sale going on when I go which is a plus. Don't forget to check out the Chicago Tribune, the Suntimes of the HL website to find coupons for additional discounts. read more

This mainly a place for the females to hang out and buy all kinds of stuff, kind of like the female version of Bass Pro Shops. The reason I do shop there is for brushes, applicators, and other small hardware for doing things around the house. They also have lots of décor stuff if you making yourself a man cave. I hate going to Hobby Lobby, Franks, Michaels, or anything that had to do with yarn, frames, scrapbooking. But I had to make may annual visit here to finish my Halloween costume. Knock on wood, but I've never had a bad experience at hobby lobby. I crochet so most of the time I go there it's to get yarn. They have this yarn called "I love this yarn" that is a good price, really soft, and comes in a ton of colors. This place was almost literally my wedding planning pinterest board. Tons of cute signs, boxes, wedding accessories, etc etc forever and ever. It was amazing! Everything I looked at was on sale for 50% off so the prices weren't bad. I think the prices at half off were fair. They seem to do a lot of sales and coupons. Every once in a while, I will get the bitten by the creativity bug. May it be Calligraphy, beaded jewelry, or a failed attempt at scrap booking, this place has it all. The store is huge! They are sometimes understaffed, but when you do find someone, they can get you pointed in the right direction. I don't do much in the way of knitting, but this place amazes me, because it has three aisles dedicated to yarn alone! But I do have to say that they are a little more expensive than other craft stores in the area. But if I want it, they are more likely than not to have lots of it in stock. read more

By far the worst of all locations. The staff is slow and useless. I have been shopping here for years and every year the staff gets worse and worse. I waited in line for 15 mn today with only ONE customer in front of me. Normally I don't complain but when another register opens and starts helping ppl from the back of the line while others have been waiting 15plus minutes get ignored I'm going to get pissed off. My time is valuable too. I had a large order but that shouldn't deter your staff from ringing me up, but I guess it won't effect their profits only the owners. I have been coming to this Hobby Lobby for years. They have great things but their staff is HORRIBLE especially in the framing department. I came in around 7pm (they close at 8pm) and asked an employee for assistance. I told her I knew exactly what I wanted so it wouldn't take long. She continued to roll her eyes and give me attitude. The entire process of her taking my framing order was filled with eye rolls and MAYJOR attitude. Throughout the years this woman has given me ignorant and rude comments numerous times. Tonight was the last time as I will never be returning back there. I understand if someone is having a bad day but like I said this has happened more than once with the same employee. On the bright side: There is a new framing girl who helped me last week. She was very helpful and extremely nice. My all time favorite store to shop. This is the closest location in my area. They have a huge selection of everything you can think of with great sales going on all the time. However it is very disappointing to see their poor customer service. The cashiers and workers seem annoyed by answering any questions you might have. It's almost as if you are bothering them and doing something wrong by approaching them for any particular questions. Very bad attitude, rude, unpolite. I am not the type of person that would asked to speak to a manager, but today I had to do it. The cashiers gave me such a hard time regarding product that had the wrong price and would not want to honor it, fortunately when I did speak to the manager which I did not get her name, she was very professional easily solved the issue by honoring the store mistake. Ok so this was the second time in this store & the cashiers both were by far the most rudest I have ever seen. They were both hispanic but didn't get names because didn't think I was going to need it. When asking a question they talk down on you as if you were stupid to ask the question. Then I tried to use my coupon on 2 different orders being 1 was mine & 1 was my sisters (she told me to pick something up since I was there). I had specifically told her before she rang me up what I was doing so when it came to my second order she said sorry you can't use the coupon twice has to be from someone else in line. WTH! So she suggested I wait in another line so I can return the items to buy it again & use the coupon on the higher priced item (my sisters). Um no! I have 2 small kids & was already in a hurry. I just received the WORST customer service at your Hobby Lobby store at 8825 S Harlem Ave, Bridgeview IL #243 from your STORE MANAGER MATT!!! At the end of June (35 shopping days ago) I purchased $45.76 worth of supplies from your store. In this purchase I bought 12 plastic frames so that I could make personalized gifts for my daughter's t-ball team. In the store the frames all looked fine, but on further inspection once I got home I found that one of the frames that cost $1.99 had a small crack on the bottom corner. The frame never left the bag so it remained in its original packaging. I looked at the receipt and it clearly stated that Hobby Lobby values customer satisfaction and that I had 90 days from my purchase date to get a store credit or refund. I leave for Walt Disney World tomorrow and I went in today intending to buy a significant amount of scrapbooking materials and photo albums for my trip. I went in with a $200 budget! Before I began my purchase I tried to return the $1.99 frame with the full intention of spending well over 100 times that in my trip. I was told by the cashier she had to have a manager's approval. After waiting for 7 minutes in what appeared to be an empty store with no line and after the store manager had to be paged TWICE the very rude and condescending store manager Matt told me that he refused to except my return. I explained to him that I had bought a dozen of the same item and did not initially see the small crack, was within my 90 day return period, and intended to purchase a significant amount of supplies today to document my Disney trip. He then very rudely told me that he was the store manager and that his word was final. The $1.99 in reality is nothing to me. It's the principal of the matter. As a store manager he should be trying to maintain customer satisfaction and keep his customers shopping at his location. Is this how Hobby Lobby trains it's managers or better yet allows their stores to be run? Is this the example that you want the rest of your staff to follow? The fact is that I will NEVER shop in this store again. I promptly took my business to the near by Michael's and spent close to $200. Not only did they value my business but as a teacher and Student Council sponsor they will continue to get my personal and professional business as I purchase well over $2000 in supplies for my high school a year in Homecoming decorations alone. Hobby Lobby, I believe it is outrageous to allow a store manager to "lead" his store and his team in this manner. From the moment I was approached by Matt there were no smiles, no kind words, no apologies, just sheer attitude and arrogance.
