I went into Hobby Habit hoping to find a specific lipo battery product, only to be told (rather abruptly) that they didn't stock it and to not stand behind the counter and look at the model airplanes. I completely understand that not every store can carry everything -- that's fair enough -- but the way it was handled left a bad taste. Instead of a polite "sorry, we don't have that," I was spoken to quite rudely, as if I was a nuisance for even asking. I've been to plenty of hobby shops where staff are friendly and happy to point you in the right direction, even if they don't have what you need. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. I get that people have off days, but when customers come in excited about their hobby, a little courtesy goes a long way. Ladies have spa's and shopping and boys have...Hobby Habit. Think Talladega Nights but in a radio control car racing version. Boasting a huge, and I mean huge 5000 square feet of car tracks, onroad bitumen tracks, offroad carpet tracks, a rock crawler track and a shop housing radio control vehicles in every imaginable shape, expect hours of fun with your kids here. If you have your own radio control car, bring it here and pay $5 for hours of fun. Bargain indeed! Alternatively, check out their shop and purchase a vehicle (car, truck, boat) ranging from $35-$50. The shop carries wooden models, plastic models and if you're after radio control spares or specs, they have it here. Those who enjoy constructing models should check out the building materials. I have been to Hobby Habit at least three times for kids birthday parties and at several other times with family. It's excellent recreation time with the kids instead of having them glued to their seats and getting RSI playing Xbox or any of those sedentary games. We purchased our own slot cars which weren't cheap but the better they are the better they stay on the track. At $5 bucks each you can use their race tracks and really you can't go wrong but you will need to have your own slot car/s as they don't hire any. Same for out the back arena you'll need to bring your own radio controlled cars and monster trucks to run them on the replica Bathurst like road track. For repairs and pit stops there are compartmentalised sections of benches to revive the beasts. There's a large toy shop inside the complex also where they sell not only the cars but also Lego, planes, trains and automobiles in either motorised or not and other toys for big and little kids of any age. read more
