If I'm on a shopping spree, the main reason that I'm drawn to a shop is the display in the window. I'm a sucker for anything glittery, kitsch, bold and funky looking, so Hobbs wasn't exactly reaching out and grabbing me.
To be fair, it isn't really aimed at me. Hobbs is more for the working woman, selling plenty of power suits and shirts to keep you chic looking in the office. A pair of black trousers will set you back around £100 plus, which is baffling to me. The clothing is designer however, so that taken into account....nope, it still baffles me!
Not limited to workwear, Hobbs also cater for the working woman's weekend, with pretty dresses and some killer heels. I noticed a particularly pretty rose print, 100% silk dress, which would be lovely for a wedding, at £149. I would say the clothes in here would be fine for the lady over 30, although I suppose work wear is pretty universal, and would be acceptable for the wealthier 20 something's with high flying jobs.
This shop is located right in the heart of Buchanan Street, and you have probably walked past it loads of times. But unless you are 30+ with a few notes in the back pocket, then just keep walking. read more
