I have literally been taking my kids here since they were babies. Dr. Kim has a fantastic bedside manner. He is knowledgeable and professional, and where I spent so many visits at the pediatricians office. It only took one visit with him to completely get rid of the problem. Visit seemed ok for a pediatric dermatology visit. I did ask for a skin checkup for my son but the doctor just checked out the area of issue. Felt a little rushed. Visit ended up costing me $235 for about 15-20 minutes as it was out of network with my united healthcare plan. Our son's pediatrician did mention there would be some level of coverage in the form of a copay and the front desk woman at the office did say she was going to submit the claim with my insurance but there was no benefit besides it counting towards the deductible. As I already pay for health insurance, going out of network was probably not worth it. read more

Dr.Kim's diagnosis is always correct, he prescribed right medicine for me during past 2years. Each time I had serious skin infection from allery or wound. Now it almost healed with his prescribed drug and ointment only in 4days. I felt much better as soon as from the 1st day. Does not accept insurance, but is easy to schedule appointments. We were desperate to get our son looked at for eczema that was keeping him up at night. Dr. Kim was able to see us the same week when other pediatric specialists were booked for months. Very convenient, fast, knowledgeable, on time for every appointment. The only downside is they don't accept insurance. They will help you submit your bill to insurance for reimbursement but won't submit it for you. Totally worth it for urgent needs. read more

Dr. Kim is fantastic. My daughter went to him at age 4 with a small spot under her eye that her pediatrician couldn't diagnose. Turns out it was linear scleroderma and because Dr. Kim is so knowledgeable we were able to prevent major scarring by treating it early. He literally saved her face. Furthermore, he is personable, he will actually call you back if you have questions, his office staff is really prompt and polite (seriously--you get treated AT YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME), and he doesn't suggest ridiculous, expensive procedures. very disappointing, disorganized place with rude rude staff. 1. receptionist and billing problem. over the course of 4 visits, price went up from $105 to $125 to $145 to $185. every time when I asked the person at the front desk for a reason, this rudest possible receptionist (many reviews agreed) said they increased the price. she always tries to brush off in a very unprofessional manner. 1. she said they increased the price for the first in many years.. for the first time in 2021, etc. She kept going. so, I looked at my insurance record carefully and called them back. 2. Now, she said it was actually a computer glitch, so they owe me money and they will return the money to my credit card (no apology) I still need a clarification, so I asked for a breakdown of record, then 3. she said actually injection price went up, so she didn't owe me anything. this office never ever increased the price I said this is fine. just don't change the story multiple times, because this hurt their credibility. she started to raise her voice while I was talking. she said she never changed the story, she is not lying, she never put these money in her pocket, which I never thought of accusing anybody...she said I don't need to come back to see Dr. Kim. From looking at google reviews and yelp reviews, in this practice, receptionists kicked away many patients like that. At the end of call, she admitted she said three different things. 2. Doctor didn't know that receptionist or billing person renewed his prescription, so I said doctor needs to know this. she said she did the right thing, so the doctor doesn't need to know this. INCREDIBLE. She said he is not going to fire her, so I don't need to come back. So bloody rude. she sounds like she is afraid of doctor knowing this. very very hard to trust. read more

We really liked Dr. Kim. We took our child for treatment and Dr. Kim was extremely knowledgeable, honest and pleasant. Appointments are one time, minute to minute, and it's pretty easy to get one. He does not accept any insurance, but the office is very efficient. The consultation is about 150$. Now his front staff is not friendly at all. Not a smile, not a hint of care, it seems like they really don't give a s...t. We walked in with a crying child (because he was terrified of the previous treatment), and the women at the front desk were almost rolling their eyes and even demonstratively shut the reception window so that they don't hear the cries. I decided I won't return to this practice after we are done with the treatment. If you are an adult and don't mind paying out of pocket, by all means come see Dr. Kim. He is wonderful. But if you are parent bringing a fussy child, please avoid the receptionists or find another practice with friendlier front staff who are more compassionate than these ice divas. read more

Great doctor, Dr. Kim is one of the best dermatologists around. he is very caring and knowledgeable. His office is clean and staff are very professional and it is extremely easy to setup an appointment. Dr. Kim has very early hours appointments that is very convenient. I have skin issues and Dr. Kim helped me manage and cure my skin problems. He does not accept, however they file it for you. You need to pay in the office and get reimbursed from insurance later. my recommendation is that paying little bit out of pocket really worth it. You get a knowledgeable and caring doctor that can help you achieve optimum skin health. read more

Despite Dr. Kim's positive reviews elsewhere, my experience was disappointing to say the least. Dr. Kim always appears rushed and he does not take any time to explain important implications of certain procedures. Thus, a second appointment, because of unusual coloring, resulted in his explanation that the treated area's appearance was normal. I was still billed a substantial amount for this second visit. This follow-up appointment would have been absolutely unnecessary if Dr. Kim took the little time and effort to explain to me the variety of possible reactions to his treatment. When I protested this billing, he was quite recalcitrant and unsympathetic, claiming "business is business." Do skip this doctor to save your time and money (not to mention your appearance). read more

I have not had the opportunity to meet Dr Kim in person, but I have had the unfortunate experience of speaking with the secretary over the phone. She is one of the most rude individuals I have ever had the displeasure of talking to. She was rude, interruptive, and did not use even the most basic of courtesies. Dr. Kim is knowledgeable and direct to the point doctor. His exams go fairly quickly. He explains what it is, what needs to be done, answers questions. It is easy to schedule same or next day appointments as early as 7am. There is no waiting. He doesn't accept insurance but his staff will complete the claim form. He was recommended to us and we highly recommend him because: 1. he has been 100% correct with the diagnoses; 2. he instills the feeling of calm (at times when we have been going crazy and scared). 3. he is also a pediatric dermatologiest. Agreed with the other reviewer that DR. Kim is running a tight ship. I dont have a problem with dr. Kim's words: business is business. As long as he provides a great service and my problem is solved I am happy to pay (out of pocket). read more

I called at 9am and the Dr. saw me the very same day. Turns out what I thought was an innocent heat rash was really an infection requiring antibiotics. The Doc takes his time, is very cordial, knowledgeable and never rushes you out the door. He has excellent bedside manner and knows how to treat a patient like a real person, not just a paycheck! His receptionist, Erin was pleasant. Although he doesn't go through insurance, you get what you pay for and this doc is definitely worth it! Dr. Kim is fantastic. His staff got me in the same day as I was dealing with a bad lip infection. He is very pleasant and more importantly, extremely knowledgable. He really took the time to listen to me and explain things to me that none of my other dermatologists ever had and gave me an array of options for certain other treatments that were sensitive to my needs. The staff is rude and actively unhelpful. It has diminished my opinion of Dr. Kim's practice dramatically. He is a great doctor - expert clinically and very personable. I've had nothing but positive experiences with him. But the front desk staff are irritable, short, bureaucratic. I have made simple requests - can you kindly email me xyz? Be advised that they do not accept all insurances and if your deductible has not been met for the year, your insurance won't reimburse you any percentage of what you pay at the time of service. My son's consultation was $175. An unpleasant surprise upon giving up a work day and something I should've been asked while making an appointment for him. Along those lines, I've met more pleasant front office staffs. Based on my many experiences with doctors, a pleasant front office staff is crucial. Dr. Kim, however, was very nice and explained things in full. He said if the ointment he prescribed my son proves too expensive, to call the practice and they'd see what they could do. Fortunately the ointment was only $4.80 so I didn't have to. But I appreciated him extending the offer. Seems to have a good bedside manner. If his practice took my insurance, I'd go back. read more

WOW. Cannot believe anyone would write this about Dr. Kim. My family of four have been going to Dr. Kim for 10 years. he has taken care of my daughter's acne, my husband's mole removal, general contact dermatitis, ecyzema, and a cancerous lesion on my chest. We absolutely love him. His staff always gets us in (usually same day) for any kind of emergencies. Even when Dr. kim told us a few years back that he was no longer accepting insurance, my husband and I decided to stay with him rather than change doctors where we would only have to pay a co-pay! i have recommended him to many people. I have been a patient of Dr Kim's for over five years. I was very nervous on my first visit since I spent many years in the sun and was concerned about the effects of sun damage. Dr Kim was very patient and reassuring. He took the time to understand my concerns. On each subsequent visits he takes time to talk me to ask how I am doing and discuss any concerns or issues I might have prior to a procedure.
