I've been here several times over the last few decades. To get here, you either need a military connection, or one of your friends in the military decides to hold a wedding here.
Parking is plentiful all around the buildings. As this is an active military installation, you do have to have a legitimate reason to cross the bridge.
The parade square is indoors, and the main building has several halls full of military memorabilia, from the unit's glory days, both present and past. There are several exhibits, which showcase the history quite well.
On the outside, the grass is lush and green, and there is a real sense of serenity here. From here you can get a great view of downtown Vancouver, as well as Stanley Park. The mini bridge you need to take to get here is also very picturesque. There are also several decommissioned (but working) guns, which are used for parade and saluting purposes.
Just a tip: there is a BMO ATM in the building behind the main one.
I really enjoy coming here whenever I get the chance. A peaceful monument in the middle of the bustling city. read more
