Here's why Henry and the HM Contracting Team get five stars: I called Henry and the HM Contracting Team and had an estimate within a couple of days. I really appreciate that he took the time to measure the roof and write up a meaningful estimate - first star. Henry got me a great price on the roof, and was flexible about our shingle preferences. For just a little bit more, we got exactly what we wanted at a great price - second star. Henry and his crew noticed some issues with our existing roof that needed immediate attention. He took care of our project right away. We had a new roof in less than 10 days from my first call. I don't know if he can do that for everyone, but he obviously cares about his customers - third star. Once the shingles were off, Henry noticed problems with the old plywood and structure. He sent photos and communicated the issues right away. I brought a friend who is a very reputable contractor in the area to double check the diagnosis and solution (novice homeowner jitters). I definitely could have trusted Henry and HM from the start - not only were they right on with the diagnosis, but the repairs were done perfectly. They fixed an annoying sag in the roof as well - again, at a fantastic price. It easily could have been a rip-off opportunity for another roofer. These guys are extremely trustworthy - fourth star. When they were done and cleaned up, Henry followed up to make sure we were satisfied and make sure we know his work is guaranteed. Neighbors are already asking for pricing. I was very happy with everything from my first contact through completion of the job.. Referred to me by a friend, Henry visited promptly and gave me a very competitive estimate. I got 2 other estimates and he beat them by thousands of dollars. As an engineer I was initially skeptical he could do a good job for the price quoted, but after talking with him and understanding his experience and the way he presented his estimate I decided to go with HM. He worked with me to pick a time that was convenient for me. He and his crew worked tirelessly putting in 26 hours in 2.5 days. He discussed all of the details of the job along the way and the finished product was a very good looking top notch job. My neighbors all commented on how impressed they are with the new roof and how efficiently it was completed. I also got new gutter and gutter covers. The gutters were installed by separate crew that Henry arranged that specializes in just gutters. They were also done for $1000 less than another estimate I got and also were installed quickly and professionally. The amount of debris generated by removing an old roof and gutters is unbelievable, but this was also professionally handled and my yard front and back is without a single remnant remaining. HM Contracting did a phenomenal job for us. They completed the replacement of our roof on schedule and without any issues. Our house has a low-slope area that required detailed work, and HM delivered what we needed. We decided to work with HM after leveling five different contractors in the area and we checked off the boxes on all our priorities: Experience, price, references, and customer service. During our pre-contract phase, Henry was always available to respond to our questions. He was very clear on the scope and the construction methods he uses. When it came to references, he was open to providing an address so I could see the crew at work. Although we had to wait a few weeks for our turn after the contract was signed (something that Henry was completely transparent about before committing to a date), the material was delivered on time and the work started on schedule. I highly recommend H&M Contracting which put new shingles on my entire townhome. First of all, Henry the owner is all about customer service and he really puts you as a customer first. He and his company of workers showed good craftsmanship, were reliable, on time, fast, nice and courteous professionals who gave much attention to every detail of the job, every corner of the roof. Henry was on site every day working alongside his crew. From the estimate to the end of the job Henry himself (not a secretary) answered all phone calls/emails/texts and was very easy to communicate with about all aspects of the job. He kept me updated on the job by sending photos of the areas of the roof they were working on. This is the guy! Fair price, prompt, reliable, skilled, quick problem-solvers, good communication, immaculate clean-up, cordial. HM did a fantastic job. We shopped for estimates and HM came in the most reasonable by far. We had waited a bit too long to repair our roof, resulting in more rot than we'd realized. The skilled HM crew of roofers/carpenters masterfully and economically repaired problems even like rotted gables, even in very tight spaces. Foreman/Owner Henry was on-site documenting and sending us pictures of the whole process. They left the property cleaner than they found it and were very careful of plants and landscaping. Henry and his crew were fantastic and couldn't have done a better job ! They were very professional and hard working. They made sure we were happy every step of the way. Our roof came out perfect and the cleanup was phenomenal! You wouldn't even know we just had our roof done. We haven't found any nails or pieces from the old roof (even after this crazy storm).We were very nervous when choosing a company because we have an in-ground pool in our yard. Henry and his guys were super careful and even built a wall around the pool to prevent anything from going in. They put copper around our chimney as asked and did everything perfectly. HM Contracting was absolutely amazing! Henry put together a detailed estimate, providing an all-in cost based on the worst case scenario. He also stopped by several times with large samples to assist in picking out the roof color. Once the job started, Henry sent plenty of photos to show current roof conditions and continued to send progress photos from start to finish while also providing a detailed overview on his install process throughout. Henry and his crew were great to work with. The whole installation process was seamless and Henry kept me in the loop with pictures during the entire installation. It is obvious that Henry and his crew know what they are doing when it comes to installing roofs and they made sure everything was done correctly without cutting corners.
