Lomax Carpet & Tile Mart - That's the carpet we picked

Lomax Carpet & Tile Mart

(5 reviews)

I visited Lomax in Mays Landing on Sunday, 7/24 to look at replacing my hardwoods floors in home I…read morerecently purchased. During my visit, I spoke with a salesman about flooring options and next steps if I wanted to go with one of the tile flooring options. I was told I needed to set-up an appointment with Dave, the contractor for a measurements + an estimate. I am really not a fan of businesses that like to farm out their contracting to outside parties because things never seem to go smoothly when the company isn't involved in the entire process. I received a call from Dave, on Monday 7/25 at 4:12 pm. He asked if he could swing by. I explained that the home we recently purchased is an hour away from where we live currently and I wasn't in the area. I was over an hour away at my other home. I asked Dave if we could set up an appointment for Thursday. Dave said we could. I received a call from Dave on Thursday at 11:58 pm. He told me he had just wrapped up a job and he was available for the rest of the day. I asked if 2 pm was good. He told me 2 pm wouldn't work. At this point, I am thinking I have to be on candid camera because he just told me he was available, but when I mentioned a time, the time didn't work. So, I told Dave I would be available the next day, which was Friday between 2:30-4:00 pm. When did Dave call?? 5:45 pm on Friday. Needless to say, I visited Lomax today to obtain a refund for services not rendered. I don't think Lomax is a bad place to buy flooring from. However, I do believe that they are losing customers and business because of their contractors lack of professionalism

Pat knew this, and knew I couldn't source through him, but was extremely helpful and knowledgeable showing me around the store. He helped educate me on the differences between the options I've already selected, helped order me samples to see the difference in shades, and helped explain that Lomax is the price leader and will match competitors up to 150% with free install over a certain sq footage.... I think that was the right number? He even explained that lots of new construction owners will go with standard included options and hire Lomax to rip out and install superior products cheaper than what the builder would have charged. Really impressed with his level of support, and plan to follow up to put flooring in our unfinished spaces.

Artisan Floors and Interiors - New flooring throughout the house

Artisan Floors and Interiors

This is such an easy yet difficult review to write as I can't say enough good things about the…read moreexceptional experience we had with Artisan the past few months. We had just purchased a house in Cape May and decided on using Artisan to renovate our kitchen; all the flooring in the house and the tile on the porch; and, coordinate many of our other needs (ie ceiling fan and lighting installations). Jeffrey was our main point of contact for our project which he helped design; make recommendations; and provide us with guidance. Jeff was patient, communicative, and very friendly from first consultation til the last day. But what I appreciate about him the most is the attention to detail he had and ensuring that everything was done in an order that both made sense as well as left the house in a perfect state. We visited the showroom several times throughout the process to grab samples to take to the house so we could see how things would look in our home. Everyone we met at Artisan was very friendly and accommodating. The craftsmanship and work product was fantastic. After demolishing the old kitchen, they had put in all new kitchen cabinets and installed all new appliances for us. They removed the old carpet throughout the house and put in new laminate flooring. They replaced the carpet in our front porch with a beautiful tile. The list goes on and on. I highly recommend Jeff and the team at Artisan for your home renovation needs! Thanks!!

Do not hire this company, I don't even know where to begin. They were completely unprofessional and the quality of their work was terrible. They trashed our house, they used a domestic vacuum to clean up their sawdust, they left debris on the roof, the craftsmanship was terrible, they didn't finish the job and we don't even want them back to redo it because they were so sloppy and uncaring.

Wentz brothers were also timely, clean and kept in great communication with us throughout the project. I highly recommend this company.

Wentz came highly recommended by another contractor who did our upstairs ceilings. The estimate was very reasonable for what we wanted done--all of the hardwood in 3 rooms, an upstairs hall and the steps to the second level. On an early Monday morning Tom showed and we went over the final request, agreeing on some additional work. Since I pulled up the carpet and tack strips and yanked the tacks (took about 7 hours of my time) Tom agreed to do the additional work with no additional charge (he originally was going to deduct my time from his estimate. After our agreement, my wife and I left for a week in the Poconos (too much dust would appear from the sanding; the floor coverings had their associated odor; and we wouldn't have been able to navigate around the home). When we came home we were awe-struck--it was like Ty Pennington's "Extreme Home Makeover"; however, unfortunately for Tom, he wasn't here on the Sunday of our return to experience our excitement and pleasure with the looks of the "new" floors; they are gorgeous and the additional work that Tom completed made them all the better. Tom has photos and, since he seems as proud of his work as we are pleased with the end result, I am certain that he will share them if asked. Wentz brothers did an outstanding job and are HIGHLY recommend. Posted by Charles Wysocki.
