But we were very disappointed that we had a table booked from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and after the main course the waitress asked if we would like a sweet to which we answered yes, and then a couple of minutes later we were told that we had to change tables which I do think was very bad mannered. We had 40 minutes or so left on our booking, and had noticed a table near us that were there before we got there and still there, only drinking hot drinks so we couldn't understand at all why we were moved. This really made us feel that we weren't important clients at all. If the pub had overbooked, that wasn't our problem. We have been to this restaurant many times, but this time went away feeling very disappointed.

My grandson had the Rump Steak and even with a steak knife he found it difficult to cut through it, also you do not put hot tomatoes onto a cold salad. My Husband chose Hunters Chicken. I dont know if the chef wasn't familiar with making Hunters Chicken but it neither looked or tasted like it and once again the chicken was not cooked properly, and last of all I myself ordered Roast Pork and I,m sorry to have to say it but it both looked and tasted disgusting. We were very disappointed as we were looking forward to making our 1st visit to halfway House but I,m afraid we won,t be booking a meal here again.

Part of the patio is heated so even if its not too warm you will be ok. And for the pool players this is one of the only pubs in the area with a pool table. And a good one at that. They have a wide range of lager on tap as well as speciality local beers from Yorkshire. Not the cheapest place to drink but a good place to drink with a warm friendly atmosphere. The sign above the door tells you that the landlord and landlady welcome you inside, and, once you are inside, you do feel comfortable, welcomed and at home. On my driving visit, I went for the beer (coke) and burger deal for a fiver. Now, these deals are usually bad ideas in pubs, 'cause the burger is bound to be cheap and microwaved for that sort of price isn't it? Not here. It was pretty darn tasty, and definitely value for money. On the occasion that I went to get hammered with some mates on a weekend night, it served me similarly well. We pulled up and had to park opposite the Guisley theatre (who're showing Guys and Dolls at the moment, if you care for it) and took a very brief and very chilly walk over to Coopers. The bar is large, with boothed areas for dining and supping, and boasts a number of past and present beer mats on the wall behind the bar. I'm told there's a huge function room upstairs, and sure enough there was plenty of literature about the bar with events coming up. We took advantage of their 3rds offer, where you can sample a 3rd of three different pints on taster trays. In all, it meant we got to try 6 of the 8 beers on offer, and whilst I did my best to be cognisant of what I was drinking I quickly forgot which was which... Excepting the porter, which was the only dark beer on offer. With Kipling, Bete Noir, Wild Mule, Okams MPA and more, it was lots of fun taking in the different tastes. Being a beer fan, but not fanatic, it was great to get a feel for how the different flavours come through, from overtly citrus, to hoppy, to chocolate. And of course, each tray is priced at the cost of one pint. The bar is dog friendly, as we saw many different pooches lazing around, and it's very friendly. We were sat outside for less than a minute before some gals came chatting, so I can imagine it's lovely to nip in solo or with friends. The staff looked really happy too, bantering with locals, and they were happy to advise. Essentially, it's a fantastic warm pub, and another great Market Town Tavern. Love it!

It's located well away from all the other pubs which are rather clustered around the high street, and as such it is more favoured by elderly locals, which is probably quite fitting, as it looks like an elderly, local sort of place. Infact, I love the way it looks from both outside and in - the old grey stone, ivy-covered building makes it feel like a proper old fashioned pub, and the cosiness of the furniture inside continues this traditional theme. The one quiet beer I had was actually cheaper than I had expected it to be, which is always a nice surprise. Lovely.

When I went in, it had a few old gents in one corner, and a gaggle of builders in another corner, and it seemed as if everyone knew everyone else. It had a definite atmosphere of hearty Yorkshireness about it, from the massive plates of food to the well poured pints of stout, all of which is offered up at expectedly small prices. I didn't have food or ale, however, I had a coke, and then I left, because I felt like an outsider - I'm sure it's great if you live in Yeadon. But I don't.

Usually it has a good friendly atmosphere and a fair range of drinks and offers. What I have to rave about is the Sunday carvery that they do. I kept hearing about this from many quarters do tried it out with some friends and their kids. It is not fancy, no pretensions, but great food and brilliant value for money. You buy your ticket from the bar (which you can do at the same time as getting in a round of drinks, very efficient!) it cost about a fiver, I think. And then whenever you're ready join the queue at the counter. There is a great selection of meats and vegetables. The only thing that was a let down was the time it took for my friend's vegetarian meal to arrive (it appeared to be a cheap micro-meal, so not the best value either) - but like I've already said the carvery itself is great.

It is now such a busy popular pub with loads of locals and visitors who go just for the real ales. It is famous for having the most real ales in that area, so it can get very busy. It also serves beer/spirits and soft drinks and a small amount of cocktail kind of drinks. The pub is in a very popular area in baildon and is lovely to call into a good oldfashioned pub after a day of rambling - to relax infront of the open fire with a nice cold vodka and coke - lovely. There is a limited food menu at certain times of the day but it isnt always available - when we called in last there was no chef to cook which was a disappointment. They were talking about extending that side of things so that mightve been done now. The interior is lovely and cozy with an oldfashioned traditional feel. The staff are very friendly.
