He accommodated our group of 6 adults (including my elder father who has Alzheimer's) plus 3 children with ease, patience, gentleness, and a warm heart. He took us out in the back bay of Ocean City and found us a sweet little catching spot within minutes of dropping our lines. Being out on the water with Bill felt like being out there with a good friend who also happens to be a master fisherman. After 3.5 hours on the boat we had 4 keepers (flounder) in the ice box. Captain Bill even had a special rod setup for our 3.5 year old fisherman. There are not enough words to say how wonderful and special an experience we had! This was my very first fishing charter, so I was really excited for some deep-sea fishing--and Starfish Boats definitely lived up to the reviews I had read beforehand. The mate, Anthony, was the star of the show. He works for tips, and you should absolutely tip him because he is your best friend out there. From the moment we got on the boat, he was helping with everything--setting up the poles, putting the bait on for the first cast, walking around checking in on everyone, and jumping in whenever someone needed help. He made the whole experience so much easier and way more fun. At one point, I hooked something really big--probably a shark--but my rod couldn't handle it. Anthony quickly cut the line, set me up with a new pole, and got me right back to fishing. I ended up catching a little baby bluefish. My friend didn't catch anything this time, but plenty of people around us were reeling things in: bluefish, flounder, and even baby sharks. So you're definitely going to catch something out here! The trip itself was well-organized: about an hour ride out to the fishing spot, then we moved three or four times to drop lines before the hour ride back, giving us roughly two solid hours of fishing. Everything ran smoothly. The only downside for me was the number of people on the boat and some kids running around who clearly weren't into fishing--it got a little distracting. But I get it, families want to bring their kids along for the experience. Next time I might try a trip with fewer people for a quieter vibe. Overall, I give Starfish Boats five stars. Great crew, well-run trip, and an awesome first experience with a fishing charter. I'd definitely go out with them again.

Took a July 4th cruise to see various nearby fireworks from the ocean. As it turned out, the ocean…read morewas a little too rough so we ended up watching from the bar, but the captain did a great job making sure we could see 3-4 different firework shows going off across the nearby shore towns. The DJ was playing patriotic music throughout the fireworks. They were giving out free pretzels and sodas were free as well. Everyone was very friendly and we really enjoyed the few hours we were out on the boat. Would definitely take another trip with this company in the future.

Seas were 1 to 2 feet. At 2:20 P.M seas were a scary 4 to 5 feet with wind approaching 20 mph. I was approximately 2 miles from the CM inlet when l noticed a party boat baring down on my port side. I clearly had the right of way but the captain of the party boat paid no mind to the proper protocol. If he didn't know that he should have yielded to me since he was approaching my port side he should not be allowed to captain that vessel! The name of the vessel is "The Royal Flush " If l didn't immediately slow down quickly he would have hit me broad side. I ended up nearly swamped by his wake! Who ever he was should be fired immediately! PS. I've owned and captained boats all the way up to a 34' Silverton. I took and passed America's Boating Course sponsored by Kingsway Power Squadron. I hope if he is still employed there, he should take the course so he doesn't harm some innocent people.

Captain Tony is an engaging and hospitable host and his new pontoon style boat is steady and accommodates a dozen plus very comfortably. That's about the complement we had on our morning excursion and this is the first year he is running this boat in Cape May.
