His Generous Foundation is a new non-profit organization in San Antonio that helps patients who are terminally ill. Their genuine care for hospice patients in financial need has been truly inspiring to me. I can vouch that it is rewarding to volunteer and they have been incredibly flexible with my schedule.
This afternoon I visited a 91yr old woman with Alzheimers. I had a wonderful time with this dear woman who has no family nearby. She did ask me a few times what my name was and every time I'd tell her, she would sing me a 1950s song called "Tammy". It was the first time I had heard this song. So I looked it up on YouTube and showed her a video with Debra Reynolds singing "Tammy". She then sang with more enthusiasm and went down memory lane, sharing her memories. This is just an example but every visit with a patient is special and I feel very blessed afterwards.
There are many ways to give back to the community and help His Generous Foundation thrive. Besides visiting hospice patients, you could aid with special events (like making a wish or bucket list come true), fundraising, administrative work, etc... You can also donate money to this org! Any time or donation given, no matter the amount will be put to good use! If you would like to know more, feel free to ping me or call the number and ask for Bridgett. read more
