We visited the Riverwalk and surrounding area multiple times on our visit to San Antonio and it was probably the most enjoyable thing that we did while we were there. Just in my few visits, I had lots of different experiences. The Riverwalk can be calm and beautiful or it can be fun and lively and sometimes it can be all of those things just depending on where you are within the walk. Also depending on when you choose to go, as I noticed a distinctly different vibe between my daytime and nighttime visits. As soon as you drop down from the street level into the walk, it's like you're in a whole new place. The water winds through the walk so you always have a lovely view and the calming sound of water with you wherever you venture on the walk. There are tons of shops and restaurants and shaded little spots where you can just sit on a bench and enjoy the ambiance. It's clean, well maintained and surprisingly easy to navigate, especially with all the people moving through it at any particular time. Even though some spots felt crowded, I was still always able to maneuver around without feeling claustrophobic. I think it's the openness of the walk and the fact that the river running right next to you create this open space above. Anyway, I had some really nice meals here and enjoyed some good shopping, but mostly just walking and chatting with the people that I care about while enjoying the beauty of my surroundings. You should definitely put the Riverwalk at the top of your list if you're planning on visiting the area as I can definitely recommend a stop here without hesitation.

It's a sentimental location for me and I have fond memories of making the visit with my dad in my early 30s. Shops and restaurants line the tranquil water making for pleasant strolls year-round. Even in the height of tourist season, it's still easy to navigate and enjoyably get around and take in the sights. How fun it is to sit along the walk at a cafe table with lunch or a beverage and people watch.

However, God keeps showing me that the Haven For Hope temporary shelter we know (especially if you've had the misfortune of having to lived there) will be shutting down permanently and soon enough. It will be primarily Haven For Hope's fault and responsibility to fix. They will be forced to shut down and replan their entire services for clients and drastically reduce the clients they can actually choose to help daily. Haven For Hope was good and bad. I'm still traumatized from being falsely accused from a few of their (former clients/residents and staff). It's a legal temporary residence.

He kept going on and on about how great he was and all the alterations he had made to the building. Obviously he manages his own fan club. He gave me his word that I would hear back about the interviews I had been on. But again..... I've been ghosted. It also seems especially elitist because he mentioned he got his job from simply commenting on a Facebook post. That's kind of sadistic that we are obviously in a different tax bracket and I had to go through three different interviews just to get ghosted, and all he had to do was comment on a Facebook post to get offered a job. crony capitalism?

However, the people working at the office are very rude and condescending, both over the phone and in person. Furthermore, the clinic is located in an abysmal area of town. Lots of marginal people, locked bathrooms (probably for good reason), and a general sense of discomfort. Additionally, very challenging to get an appointment in any reasonable time frame. Thankfully I found the KIND clinic just outside Loop 410. Easy to get an appointment within a couple days, everyone very nice, and the office is a clean and comfortable place to go. If you have needs that could be met by AARC, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I have been having the worst possible experience with this company possible. Several of my items…read morewere damaged during the move and I submitted paperwork to get reimbursed for the damage. They countered with an extremely low ball value that comes nowhere near the cost of repairing the items, much less replacing them. I asked how they came up with the reimbursement values, and was completely ignored. Was given a number to contact Jeff, but the few times they actually picked up the phone, Jeff was unavailable and never returned my calls. I was also given an email that is apparently never monitored, since I have not gotten a response from them that way either. This is the WORST customer service I have ever experienced from a company. This complete lack of communication from them shows the quality of service they actually provide during their moves.

On a good volunteer day, the music is great and it's like working a cool production line. I love that people bring their littles with them. It's good for them to have a foundation of service. It's worth the time. You can sign up in 2 hr intervals. The late fall early winter are slow volunteer months so don't hesitate to consider it then if you do. They also take donations as well.
