It has a unique atmosphere that feels very different from a typical downtown area. I especially enjoyed simply walking along the river and taking in the surroundings. There was always something to see, whether it was the architecture, the boats passing by, or the people enjoying the area. Despite being a popular destination, it never felt overwhelming, and there were plenty of spots to slow down and relax. The River Walk is absolutely worth visiting and is one of the best attractions in San Antonio. Whether you're looking for a scenic walk, a meal by the water, or just a place to spend a few hours, it's easy to recommend.

It's easy to walk, the tour boats are novel, rental bikes are everywhere, there are tons of places to eat and shop, and you can even carry open containers of alcohol along the River level. Art museums, hotels, the courthouse, and more can be accessed from the River, so it's easily a huge part of the heart of downtown. The city keeps doing more and more to make the space memorable, so permanent art installations, parks, and other similar features keep getting added as time goes on. If you're visiting from out of town, I can't recommend adding the River Walk to your trip enough. It's absolutely worth experiencing for yourself.

Way too much arguing and fighting among their clients/residents there, daily. However, God keeps showing me that the Haven For Hope temporary shelter we know (especially if you've had the misfortune of having to lived there) will be shutting down permanently and soon enough. It will be primarily Haven For Hope's fault and responsibility to fix. They will be forced to shut down and replan their entire services for clients and drastically reduce the clients they can actually choose to help daily. Haven For Hope was good and bad. I'm still traumatized from being falsely accused from a few of their (former clients/residents and staff). It's a legal temporary residence.

Both times I was ghosted and never given any updates. The most recent time seems especially odd because I spoke with co executive director who was a real blow hard. He kept going on and on about how great he was and all the alterations he had made to the building. Obviously he manages his own fan club. He gave me his word that I would hear back about the interviews I had been on. But again..... I've been ghosted. It also seems especially elitist because he mentioned he got his job from simply commenting on a Facebook post. That's kind of sadistic that we are obviously in a different tax bracket and I had to go through three different interviews just to get ghosted, and all he had to do was comment on a Facebook post to get offered a job. crony capitalism?

However, the people working at the office are very rude and condescending, both over the phone and in person. Furthermore, the clinic is located in an abysmal area of town. Lots of marginal people, locked bathrooms (probably for good reason), and a general sense of discomfort. Additionally, very challenging to get an appointment in any reasonable time frame. Thankfully I found the KIND clinic just outside Loop 410. Easy to get an appointment within a couple days, everyone very nice, and the office is a clean and comfortable place to go. If you have needs that could be met by AARC, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

They should work on estimating.

What was most frustrating wasn't just the incomplete move--it was the company's unwillingness to make things right after I brought the issues to their attention. I expected accountability from a national moving company and did not receive it. My advice: thoroughly inspect every inch of your home before signing anything or allowing the truck to leave. Once the move is over, it becomes much harder to get meaningful assistance.

Plus once you've got your schedule figured out, you can join the Apple Corps as a regular volunteer. It's even better.
