    Baked scallop roll
    Alli W.

Pretty solid spot. 4 of us had lunch here and didn't have trouble getting a table. There's a parking lot designated for the restaurant so it was pretty clutch too. Service: 4/5 Although our server was efficient and friendly, he didn't check in during our meal or pick up empty plates. Food: 4/5 Their menu is extensive and offers a variety from sushi and dons to bento boxes and udon. They also have lunch and dinner deals. Seafood yaki udon - Tasty with a decent amount of small sized scallops and pieces of shrimps (not whole shrimps, just cut into smaller pieces). I would've preferred not to have bean sprouts in it. Bento box with salmon teriyaki and chicken katsu - Chicken katsu were thin pieces but the breading to chicken ratio was perfect. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Salmon teriyaki was pretty small but it tasted good. Baked scallop roll - This is a must get! Hamachi roll - Thought there was a bit too much rice in this roll and the quality of hamachi was ok. Would recommend and would come back to try other dishes.

A newish restaurant at the same location as the long-tenured Naomi Sushi. QR code is available for ordering but we ordered through the waiter. We tried some nigiri. The size of cuts was unstingy and fulfilling. Most of what we had tasted above-average fresh. Rice stayed firm in chopsticks. We especially enjoyed Kampachi, Hamachi and Tai (all with melt in mouth smoothness). The only exception being Hokigai which was rubbery and tasted old. Vegetables tempura were just about average. However, the shrimp tempura had very thick un-tempura like batter that almost seemed they are store-bought. Good service (green tea refilled a few times).

    Spring Salmon Belly

Hirokata Sushi offers reasonably priced sushi for the Bay Area, but the quality was hit or miss. We ordered the 9-piece nigiri mix ($30), Hot Night roll ($19), and 2-piece spring salmon belly special ($10). Out of the 9-piece nigiri mix, we only really enjoyed about three pieces, along with the spring salmon belly, which was a highlight. The rolls were good, but overall, the quality of the sushi felt mediocre. One perk they offer is 5% cash back if you sign up for their membership program.

This spot has great reviews, but for me it was more on the average side. We tried the Sushi Pizza Roll, Stanford Roll, Napa Roll, and beef gyoza. The food was fine, but nothing really stood out. Service could have been better--it took a while to be seated despite the restaurant not being busy, and attention at the table was a bit slow. I did like that they offer beef gyoza instead of pork, which is a nice option you don't always see. Overall, an okay experience, but not sure I'd go out of my way to return.

The food is excellent, the overall dining environment is great, and the service is very courteous. They also have an impressive selection of sake. The prices are reasonable for Japanese cuisine. I highly recommend their Cherry Bombs, Stanford Roll, and eel sushi.

Got the Nigiri Mix rather good fish, and a reasonable price. Free tea as well which is very nice. The service is also good we were seated quickly, and had refills. The place itself is also nicely decorated, it looks good. Overall a good place to go for reasonably priced Japanese food!

Excellent food for the price! The sushi was incredible fresh and beautifully presented. Service was quick, friendly, and informative.

The ingredients are fresh, especially the sea urchin and scallops, which are naturally sweet and delicious! I will definitely come back

Finally, a standout sushi spot in the area! The fish was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. Each piece practically melted in my mouth. (We went to Japan earlier this year, so it's hard to find places that are tasty enough to be frequent visitors to -- we'll be coming back here!) The service was just as impressive. Our server, Justin, was attentive and made the entire dining experience even better. Can't wait to come back! The ambiance was also great. Quiet and cozy.

Had dinner here last night as a solo diner. Ate at the counter. Service was terrific and fast, got my tea refilled multiple times and was checked on a few times (it was early so not very busy). I ordered the nigiri and sashimi combo and the fish was fresh and generous in portion size. Will definitely come again!

There was some seating inside but a majority of it is outside. We ordered: - Organic Scrambles #3 (Scrambled Organic Eggs, Organic Wild Mushrooms, Shallots, Crème Fraîche, Chives) - The scrambled eggs were good and not mushy at all. The creaminess of the crème fraîche worked well with the mushrooms and chives. - Three Stack Apple Pancakes - This was delicious! I loved the grated apples in the pancakes. It was a solid pancake. The French toast was fluffy, buttery, and easily one of the highlights. The omelette with cream and mirin really hit the spot, and the breakfast wrap was also excellent. No complaints here. Drinks (3/5): The drinks tasted good, but we ordered them extra hot and they arrived cold, which was disappointing. You are also responsible to pick them up so stay close to the barrista id you need coffee. Ambiance (4/5): The atmosphere is lively and energetic, which gives the place a fun brunch vibe. That said, it can feel overcrowded. The seating is very tight, tables are pushed close together, and the line can get quite long. Service (2/5): This was unfortunately the biggest issue. One of our items was missed in the original order. When I went back to fix it, staff initially entered it as a separate order and told me there wasn't much they could do and that I'd need to pick it up as a to-go order. After multiple conversations, I asked them to simply combine it with our original order and bring it to our table, which they eventually agreed to. When our food arrived, the missing item was still missing. After checking with staff three separate times, we were eventually told they were "doing us a favor" by giving us someone else's to-go item. By that point, we had already finished most of our breakfast and were ready to leave. The staff seemed more focused on explaining how busy they were rather than taking ownership of the mistake, even though the issue started with the original order being missed. Overall, this is a solid 4-star if you go on a quieter day and you don't need much customer service because the food is absolutely worth trying. On a busy day, though, be prepared for a potential 2-star experience, mainly due to customer service.

Yes, yet another excellent restaurant joins the vibrant scene of downtown Mountain View. Mr. Bao Kitchen's streamlined menu yielded great gustatory rewards. We started out with Tomato Egg Drop Soup. Surprise of hot soup awaits inside the hefty dumpling wrapper, therefore: Bee very careful when biting into the Shen jien Bao. Meantime, Vegetable Mushroom Steamed Dumplings arrived in a big tall steamer basket with dipping sauce side. Vibrant green wrappers on these were hearty thick, delightful and delectable. Pork Cabbage Dumplings are a solid recipe with nice filling. Fried Rice is top-notch in freshness, ingredients and execution. That's one of the best versions of the rice dish that I've enjoyed in awhile. We opted for shrimp in the mix, and those were plump and juicy. Happily, everything I selected was a hit. Staff who worked the lunch hour and accommodated our outside table were gracious, helpful, also patient with my lacking and mangled attempt at Mandarin. Everyone at the table enjoyed the food, company and weather. All in all, I heartily recommend Mr. Bao kitchen for scrumptious Chinese cuisine.
