We ordered from the east to see photo descriptions on the menu. We ordered the Spicy Udon Noodle Stir Fry with Chicken, and the Ramen with Pork/Chive Dumplings! Both were so delicious, hot, and fresh. The Udon came with rice balls rolled in sesame and nori, and the chicken was perfect and tasty. The Ramen was piping hot, perfectly spicy, and had egg in the broth. The dumplings were very delicious with great scallion flavor. Small fridge of beverages, L&P, sodas, water, and more fruit drinks! They also had made to order sushi for takeaway, and a nice little counter with stools if you prefer to eat in. Would eat here over and over! Go eat here. The owner also told us many great spots to check out in Auckland and marked them on our map for us. What a delight! Thanks so much. 5 Stars doesn't do it justice.

Location is prime for students, corporate heads and maybe some daytime boozers. My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this place on our way to inspect an apartment in CBD (I wouldn't recommend it) when we walked pass Nuri Maru and saw the $4 box deals. Whaaaat!? 4 bucks!?! We had about 10-minutes before inspection but I didn't want to miss out on that chicken karaage box or the spam masubi or the assorted salmon sushi. Soooo we detoured right inside. Pretty fun atmosphere you'd come to find at a typical Korean-style sushi restaurant - there was even a giant flat screen TV with K-Pop (Korean Pop) music videos on haha. We paid for our boxes and took a seat when a lovely lady from behind the counter asked if we wanted Miso Soup. I declined at first thinking she was trying to upsell me even after we had already paid. But then I noticed the beautiful sign that read "Free Miso for every $5 purchase" or something like that.. I saw "FREE" "Miso" and "$5" so I that's all I cared about. I quickly retracted my declination and said with conviction "YES!" She asked if we wanted two (one for my gf I guess haha).. Again, I said "YES!" as I nodded my head like an Asian school boy. Everything was surprisingly good for something that's been sitting out for who knows how long. The salmon roll was especially delicious - it had that milky, soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture.. mMMMmMmmM We're definitely coming back again.. maybe tomorrow since we have another inspection in the area hahah

I've been keen to try this place for awhile but I'm not always in Milford but today was the day! Sushi Milford has a number of different hot meals & sides, as well as their sushi, which can also be ordered as platters if you need an event catered. My first impression was a very well presented, clean and airy shop with cute plants & ornaments throughout. There is bench seating by the window and a couple of tables outside and magazines to keep you occupied while you wait. Upon entering, I was greeted by a very cheery girl whom promptly took my order & thanked me. I arrived back within ten minutes after picking up a prescription and my meal was packed and ready to go. I had the salmon sashimi donburi ($14) and the presentation was exactly as the photo suggested on the wall. A good amount of veggies and fresh succulent sashimi on top of delicately flavoured sushi rice (I ordered non spicy so I could share with my little one). I would have rated them 5 stars but there was an over abundance of sliced red onion on my don and more importantly, they use the little packets of wasabi instead of mixing it fresh themselves. Their sushi in the cabinet looked very tempting with an assortment of options, standard flavour combinations and their own varieties. Not the cheapest for sushi but the value of their donburi bowls definitely compensate for their sushi prices, in my own opinion anyways.

There was also a pack of sushi (6 pieces I think) on the side, as well as a small salad with dressing. At $29 it struck me as a tad on the expensive side, as the amount of food wasn't stupendous... but then again sushi is generally an expensive option, relative to what you get.

The orders come with free miso soup ( yay free) and it's pretty good too, which is a super bonus. There are also a lot of hot asian foods available that are on offer like spicy ramen, udon, and teriyaki and rice dishes. We ordered the chicken teriyaki bento and pork katsu bento boxes and then also got a couple of one off rolls like the avocado and salmon, katsu roll, shrimp tempura roll and a couple more. All of them were really satisfying and the bento boxes were really generously portioned and good. It was big enough to share with my husband and we really enjoyed them. The bentos included a variety of foods like rice, the teriyaki, a veggie fritter, some sushi rolls, among some other foods we were able to try. The manager told us that the bentos change seasonally and in the summer they have fresh fruit and salads too. The owners were really friendly and had great service. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area or even a bit away. We drove by from Tauranga and it was worth the drive.

Whilst Musashi looks pretty inconspicuous from outside, inside it absolutely hums. The decor is pretty nondescript, black walls with wooden features and giant sake bottles sitting on shelves but the food, well, that is another story. Being in a rather indecisive mood, I decided to go for the chicken teriyaki bento box. It was delicious. The miso had a load of flavour and was clearly not of the packet variety, the edamame beans were perfectly salted, the salad of finely cut cabbage and japanese mayo was crunchy and fresh but the real star of the dish was most definitely the chicken. It was cooked to perfection and was unbelievably tender plus the teriyaki marinade was one of the best ever had. My only teensy tiny complaint was that serving size seemed small given the price. Regardless, that food was that good I will definitely be going back. ASAP.
