Yeah the sushi game is strong here !!! Go for the soba noodle salad - see the rainbow ,eat the rainbow !! The service is excellent , but the New Market location is teeny tiny and you can see what your dining neighbour is eating and or talking about . The selection of sushi is amazing and colourful and your plate can quickly full up , don't forget there's a menu to order from . I recommend for 2nd dates and girly girl catch ups . Too small for working lunches make a beeline for the city works depot outlet for that .

Living centrally gives you more excuses to eat out. Unless you work in Newmarket or the city it means you are fighting off others for lunch in the weekend at &Sushi. Relatively new now, I had a quick lunch stop at the Newmarket branch. Wowza it gets busy - don't expect to sit in there unless you have the time to wait or you are happy to be squashed up to by others. Busy is always a good sign that you are eating at place that will deliver however in this case I am not so sure. Don't get my wrong, the variety is more than you will find in any other sushi shop, they bring bright colours and interesting flavour combos. Being the biggest sushi fan, I was really excited to try something new and innovative. I am not sure if it was that my expectations were so high from seeing how busy the store was constantly and had been recommended &Sushi for the fact that there are modern sushi flavours which are crazy and exciting - but maybe its true when people say you should stick to what you know and sometimes stripping food back to basics is the best way. I just felt with all the different flavours and combos, the flavours were lost. I was sad that nothing really gave me that feeling that I wanted to keep eating more. You always eat with your eyes and the food is beautifully presented and gives you that excitement to eat, I was just disappointed that the flavours didn't match the look. To be honest, I can't even remember what I picked now, but can't remember the flavours that stood out either. I had a quick look at the sit-down menu on offer. Everything again sounds very appetising. Two of our dining partners actually ordered from the menu, but I can't comment on the flavours - until next time. I want to love &Sushi because the servers were very friendly and the food is beautiful and creative, I think it would really favour from bringing a little less flavours to table - less is more. Rating Food: 6/10 Service: 8/10 Value for Money: Good 10-12 Teed St, Newmarket Opening Hours: Mon-Sat 9am-4pm.

Everything is pre-made so it quick and easy. After you pay, you are allowed to go upstairs for a seating area. We just wanted to eat it on the spot so we opt to just stand and eat. It was great! Don't shy away from this sushi stall just because it's pre-made and isn't sit-down style. The flavor and freshness is all there. The next time I see a &Sushi, I would definitely order a few bites to go. They have so many different options to choose from and the ones that we got tasted fresh. I would even say that this is much better than some sit down restaurants I've been to back in the US.

The sushi is displayed on the side of the street, so it is very tempting even if you aren't hungry. You grab a plate (if you decide to dine upstairs) or a to go box and grab whichever piece of sushi you would like. Sometimes, at sushi restaurants, do you ever order one roll and it comes in 6-8 pieces and it's not that great and you just wish you had gotten another roll? Well fear not, at &sushi, you can grab sushi by the piece! The colorful sushi, fresh fish and unique flavors (kimchi sushi) makes this place a fun and delicious experience. We grabbed a plate and ate on the street - you can't get more casual than that! Do yourself a flavor and grab a plate, your favorite pieces of sushi and enjoy. (Then go to Milse right across the street and make your tastebuds dance in delight with their beautiful and scrumptious cakes.)

We booked a table but when we got there it took ages to get service. We had to really flag someone down. Then it took ages to even recieve some water as we waited for our food. They really need to up their service. The serving sizes are quite small so unless you are a very light eater, you will probably have to buy two $13ish meals. They also do not come with rice. Rice is an additional $2.50 for a small bowl. So you are looking at spending about $25-30 per person. I do like the seating arrangement though... we had a big table and even though we could see other tables the way it was layed out makes it feel private. Apparently there was also some sort of amazing show with drums and stuff which I had missed as I got there late...so that could be good entertainment. Everyone on our 10 people table raved about the Kushi chicken.... I did think it was quite good however could only do one piece as I felt that it was quite oily and sickening after a while. Overall I would try this place again.

The karaage chicken is pretty unique - they use rice bubbles instead of breadcrumbs! Have attached photos. Down one star due to the price, was $130 for two with drinks as above, oysters, sashimi, beef tataki, takoyaki, three types of skewers, and karaage, but more pricey than we're used to. Yummy though! Will probably be back, but not for our cheap date nights :-)

Location is prime for students, corporate heads and maybe some daytime boozers. My girlfriend and I stumbled upon this place on our way to inspect an apartment in CBD (I wouldn't recommend it) when we walked pass Nuri Maru and saw the $4 box deals. Whaaaat!? 4 bucks!?! We had about 10-minutes before inspection but I didn't want to miss out on that chicken karaage box or the spam masubi or the assorted salmon sushi. Soooo we detoured right inside. Pretty fun atmosphere you'd come to find at a typical Korean-style sushi restaurant - there was even a giant flat screen TV with K-Pop (Korean Pop) music videos on haha. We paid for our boxes and took a seat when a lovely lady from behind the counter asked if we wanted Miso Soup. I declined at first thinking she was trying to upsell me even after we had already paid. But then I noticed the beautiful sign that read "Free Miso for every $5 purchase" or something like that.. I saw "FREE" "Miso" and "$5" so I that's all I cared about. I quickly retracted my declination and said with conviction "YES!" She asked if we wanted two (one for my gf I guess haha).. Again, I said "YES!" as I nodded my head like an Asian school boy. Everything was surprisingly good for something that's been sitting out for who knows how long. The salmon roll was especially delicious - it had that milky, soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture.. mMMMmMmmM We're definitely coming back again.. maybe tomorrow since we have another inspection in the area hahah
