Unfortunately, this has taken me way too long to post this review. I am not quick to criticize --…read moreeven as a former mystery shopper, but my Air Force daughter was in from Washington, DC, and we thought we would spend some of our very brief and coveted time attending a very Facebook-advertised "Antique Store Saturday" in Cave City. It seems like this effort was led by Paul's Antiques on the main drag there. We got a late start leaving Bowling Green but truly enjoyed Magaline's store first, spending some $$$ there. We were then left rushing to Paul's Antiques at ~3:30 central, because the stores all closed up ridiculously at 4 PM central time. I won't go into great detail other than the rudeness of the staff at Paul's Antiques when it was five minutes until closing time. My daughter and I were in the back of the store. A somewhat senior lady basically told us they were closing and more or less threatened to turn the lights out on us. It was unfortunate that I REALLY wanted the walking cane I had picked or I would've stormed out. I told her that was unfortunate because I really wanted to buy the cane and she basically told me if someone's up front l, they would wait on me and take my money...(?!!?!). I urbanely stated to the middle aged man lazily lounging at the front that their salesclerk wasn't very polite, but he only added to my anger and frustration with a nonchalant shrug that I could decide if I wanted to buy it or not. As soon as we left the store, my daughter stated that WOW, she really didn't like that store! That was before I could shake my head and comment I would never set foot in there again. Here is a word of advice to business owners and entrepreneurs who are going to hold a special event: first of all, I don't close at 4 PM and second of all, don't treat your customers like crap. The ONLY reason I am scoring it even two stars is they did have some decent merchandise there and a great variety, including inexpensive kitschy jewelry from China.
