I cannot say enough good things about Maria at The Dam Salon! I had been coloring my hair…read moredark--almost black--for over 20 years, so deciding to make the change to copper was a HUGE transformation for me. Maria has taken my hair from years and years of dark permanent color to this gorgeous, bright, dimensional copper, all while making the health and integrity of my hair her priority. Anyone who knows hair knows that lifting more than 20 years of dark color is no small task, and she never rushed the process or sacrificed the condition of my hair just to get there faster. She has been incredibly knowledgeable and patient throughout the entire process, explaining what was realistic and making sure we got closer to my goal while still keeping my hair healthy, soft, shiny, and full of life. And the color... I LOVE IT. The dimension, brightness, and different shades of copper are absolutely beautiful. Looking at my before and after pictures, I honestly can't believe this is the same hair! If you're considering a major color transformation, especially after years of dark permanent color, I highly recommend Maria. She truly listens to what you want, knows what she's doing, and cares just as much about the health of your hair as she does about creating a beautiful result. Five stars isn't enough. Maria absolutely nailed it!

I don't know what to say about a business who calls the police on me while i was sitting on the…read morecurb waiting for my Rio to show up... I wasn't even directly in front of their shop. I completed a nearby transaction and obtained some cash. Then i walked over to a business I've been wanting to visit for years (Blitzkreig Games *sp)... but they were closed. I was shielded from the wind and enjoying the warmth of the sun... I noticed the chairs outside of the salon but I also noticed they were "props". (They want to give the illusion they are "inviting" but i found them to be anything but!) I had a low battery and no wifi, so i called a friend who gave me Rio's phone number. I'm a 56 year old woman who hasn't dyed my hair since covid... so when i saw a customer come out side to her car to get something, i thought hmmm, I've got a head full of gray hairs, maybe I should dye my hair like my friends have recently (vibrant colors). I never once thought i would be in their way of conducting business... i called Rio to get me and gave the address of the Blitz Games place. They told me they were booked solid and to call back... I did. When i called back several minutes later, the police came and he was really nice and i was more than glad to tell him anything he wanted to know. (I was stunned too... I'm already insecure as hell emotionally due to trauma. Would it have been too much trouble to get an employee to ask me to sit elsewhere or to ask if i needed anything? I would have easily gone back to the other side of the building where i had conducted business already...) Anyway, long story short, use my negative experience to learn about the type of people who work there. Most hair salons have very positive, happy people there who are good with people. I saw two young teen girls throw out some drinks in the trash. I wasn't close to them. Maybe 20 feet or so, but it only takes a little friendliness to just look at someone and say, "hi, how are you?! We're just wondering if you are going to come inside to the salon since our windows say "walkins welcome" or if you need help?" Anything along that line, would have been very accommodating. I wouldn't have cared if it was rude. It could have been, "This area is reserved for the hair salon since Blitz is closed till 2pm..." I get it. Whatever. I just think it was cold to call the cops on me for waiting on a Rio. I didn't think I was scaring away your customers... and next time I'm there, I'll be sure to avoid your area.. because I'll be doing business with Blitz in the near future.
