I went there today and they were already trying to help me before I could even make it through the door. But seriously, they are always super helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. 2nd, it is so much more convenient when you need to pick up just a couple of things as opposed to driving to the neighboring town to hit up one of the big hardware stores. And the place is as busy as it could be. A steady stream of visitors kept on coming in. The staff was probably the most knowledgeable and friendly hardware staff I've seen. From hardware, appliances, furniture, sporting goods, and banjos, this store has it all. Nothing in the store has been updated, but has been gently maintained to keep it in its original state. I once asked for a pound of framing nails and 50 feet of rope. One of several older men working there went to a wood bin and picked up a large handful of nails and put them in the bag and asked if that would do. It was clearly over a pound but charged me for just the pound. Another man went to the back and started measuring rope using is outreached arms. Again, clearly over 50 feet but charged me not a penny more. If you are in the area, its worth spending 20 minutes or so wondering the aisles and finding things you'll never find in Home Depot or Walmart. Nothing about CJ Richardson's is commercial, superficial, or meant to impersonate the good old days. What you see is what you get (and that really says something).
