Holy smokes, it's my 400th Yelp review! And it goes to a truly special place.
I first discovered Hing Hay Coworks a couple months ago when I was looking into Meetup venues. I was smitten from the get-go, by the beautiful space, the history behind it, and the genuine friendliness of the HH Coworks team. I decided to take advantage of their summer specials ($100/month for 3 days/week, $150/month for 5 days/week!). I'm not sure if that's still going on, but they still have a free day pass on Yelp! The meeting rooms here are perfect for client meetings, and there's plenty of space for working and lounging. I believe you can also rent these meeting rooms at an affordable rate even if you're not a member.
Aside from being an awesome coworking space that would put some of the best tech company offices to shame, they host great events and these always attract the most genuinely friendly and passionate people. I've attended a couple of Hing Hay happy hours (those are the best! Find them on Twitter: @HHCoworks, or Facebook to get on the list for the next one), had a few client meetings, and hosted Meetup events here. Everyone raves about what a hidden gem this place is, but what makes HH Coworks truly special is the management team: Quang and Eliza. They are awesome! Quang has an extensive network, is super smart but down to earth, and has legit OG creds in the Seattle business scene. Eliza knows how to make things happen and never seems to run out of solutions. My Meetup group and HH Coworks co-hosted an event last week, and due to a last minute change, we could only serve non-alcoholic drinks. Within a couple hours, Eliza put together a bespoke mocktail menu, made me a grocery shopping list, and mixed the most refreshing fizzy mango lemonade and kickass virgin Moscow mule, with homemade lime juice and freshly grated ginger. Martha Stewart would've been proud.
Since Hing Hay Coworks is quite new, the community is still pretty small and everyone is really friendly. Through HH, I met freelancers and entrepreneurs across very diverse disciplines. This is really refreshing, because as a mobile developer, I mostly meet people in tech (not that there's anything wrong with that!). If you're interested in meeting people from industries other than your own, and in getting exposure to other problem space and opportunities while continuously refining your craft, you'll find your tribe at HH Coworks.
