The food was 5 stars. a portions were good as well. The entree came with rice and we ordered Samosas to start and garlic naan with dinner and rice pudding for dessert. I can't say one bad thing about the night. Service was quick and friendly, food came out piping hot and delicious and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. Thank you for a great dinner!

Got there 1 hour before closing. Got the impression to do to go instead of dine in. Got lamb biryani, samosa, mango lassi & butter chicken. Still give 5 stars. We live near but I think we would rather drive far to Mantra or even farther Spice World in Corona. Try Rasoi in Menifee next time. Have a nice day!

Again a first time dinning experience at a new restaurant here in Menifee California Have not eaten any Indian food for the past 30 years. I don't remember it being this spicy still it was not overwhelmingly hot but it has a kick to it probably the curry The server was kind enough to bring some yogurt sauce which cut the spiciness down for me. Plenty of rice and so much food I had to take home almost half of it. Worth the $17 price as it was good quality and quantity too. As Arnie says I'll be back

Good spot for Indian food. All the dishes we ordered were flavored nicely, good spice levels. I highly recommend the chicken tandoori and chicken tikka masala. I was interested in the chili chicken but I wasn't sure about the spice levels and it has tomatoes. The spicy chilli naan was spiccceyyyy. I did feel like the naan wasn't fresh and had been sitting a while but our other meals felt like they were made to order. We ordered online for pickup and it took about half an hour staff was efficient and provided the proper containers.

This place was amazing and I am looking forward to going back. What I loved about it is so many Indian restaurants are so heavy on the spices all the dishes start tasting the same. From the Garlic Naan that was cooked to perfection light not dense. The Shrimp Curry cooked with its warm turmeric cream based sauce. The Aloo Gobi with its rich tomato based sauce with Himalayan spices, potatoes, and cauliflower. Veggie Momos with this amazing spicy tomato and Serrano sauce with garlic, cilantro and lots of spices like Turmeric. This place made my taste buds dance. I highly recommend great service, generous portions enough to take home for later. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Lots of vegan options

Had #26 to go. Was recommended by the waiter the last time I came here and vowed to try it next. It did not disappoint. I loved that it had everything in it that I love. Potato, zucchini, the taste of raisin exploding in my mouth. So delicious. One meal usually lasts me for 2 sittings. I also picked up some garlic naan. My fav.

Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan

Saw this while cruising down the street. Looks like they barely opened up not too long ago so I wanted to give them a try since there are not too many Indian restaurants near Menifee. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala with rice (Medium Spice Level) and Garlic Naan. Naan is oven-baked flat bread. It's like eating a freshly made tortilla. The flavor was absolutely delicious! I think next time I want to try this again but spicier. Expect to pay $15-20 on average here. The price is just right. When I first walked in, I felt they're confused and didn't say hi within a few seconds. Later they provided with great service. There was always someone checking in on how I was doing and offered more water and rice. The atmosphere is really chill with low ambient lighting. For the most part the restaurant looked very clean and spotless. I will come again soon to try a different dish.

Lamb Rogan Josh with Basmati Rice
Foodie D.

Tandoori and Naan are cooked in a CLAY TANDOOR OVEN at this location. Most entries are served with a complimentary bowl of Basmati rice that is fragrant with spices (cloves can be found). The food feels like a home cook meal and I was told from Northern India province. This was definitely not an Americanized India fusion nor anything served in any India California buffets and definitely a level above it. ========= Tandoori are served on Sizzling Platters and placed on top of sauté vegetables (onion, bell peppers with spices) that are pre-marinated for hours. A lemon wedge is provided to squeeze additional citrus flavoring to the meats. The spices in the tandoori meats were well embedded that I could smell/taste the spices hours after eating as well as the next day upon reheating leftovers. 21. LAMB CHOPS (RACK OF LAMB / 5 PCS) Pre-marinated lamb with each leg cut and blacken char in the clay oven. It was cooked to well so a bit dry/over done for me. However, I was told the meats can be cooked to any wellness a customer prefer. If you want medium make sure to specify upon ordering. It came with a paste made from fresh mint/cilantro to help with gamey taste associated with lamb. 16. CHICKEN TANDOORI Bone in chicken thigh/drumsticks pre-marinated with spices. Additional hot spice paste can be requested, but I ask to put on the side. It was cooked well done, so could be juicer if cooked less. A side of marsala could also help with the dryness of the meat. ========= Boneless cubed meat are slow braised in India spice sauces: 61. LAMB ROGAN JOSH ** Delicious in flavoring ** Braised cube boneless lamb in a stewed tomato sauce filled with India aromatic spices (onion, garlic, India spices: black cardamom, cumin, cloves, etc). It's similar to saltness of a rustic tomato cacciatore sauce but w/ India spices. 60. LAMB KORMA Wanting to compare it to Al-Noor (Pakistan) in Inglewood is Spicy, Salty, Tangy, the taste was a total opposite to a Sweet Floral Nutty and Creamy (Himalayan is India). In the usa, most restaurants are called India to make it simple for non-India customers. The flavor is different because these are two different cultures/regions but use the same name Lamb Korma. Although I could taste the cashews, it was more bland in comparison to the Rogan Josh and other Korma I've tried elsewhere. I did not add additional hot spice. All the sauces come in the same dish and fits in a 24oz plastic container including the rice. Meats are cubed and seem to be about 4 oz of meat on my 1st visit. ============ Garlic Naan is at ala carte prices and not complimentary. It had garlic with cilantro flakes. It was OK but not as buttery as Al Noor. However, this restaurant's Basmati rice had more flavor than the Naan to go well with their dishes/tandoori. Restaurant is small café style, it's can hold a party of 6 per table. Bottle wine or glass is available to purchase besides beer and soda. It does get busy after 5pm and parking does get tight since it shares it with other eating establishment. For quieter setting, go before the dinner crowd. Staff is friendly and nice. During my visit, many of patrons (are not India) and happy/eager to experience a place with exposure to dishes that provided different blend of spices. Service/experience and attentiveness was much better the 2nd time around that I look forward to trying a new dish on my next visit.

Amazing. Authentic Indian food. I've traveled around the world , as I share in my newest publication, RECIPES FOR LIFE, and I must say this is the best Indian food. I've tried in a long time and it's sharing California down the street from my house. I am beyond blessed to have such amazing, authentic Indian food so near me.

Food is plentiful and delicious, sizzling lamb tandoori with vegetables, chicken curry, rice and Naan garlic bread were all perfect, generous potions. Service was attentive to our needs. Also offering wonderful plastic containers with tight lids for our leftovers to bring home. Checked in about 3:30pm on a Friday to beat the crowds, loved that it is a small quaint restaurant here in Menifee, noise level was low, easy to have conversation, all in all a great experience. Definitely recommend giving Himalayan Taste a try!

Chantelle G.

The smell entering the place was amazing, the set up was clean. The service was good and the food was flavorful. Chicken was a bit tough but the flavors made up for it. Portions were ok but im used to buffet style or family style dining experience with this kind of food because its so flavorful and good I would love a variety! We also ended up all getting the same thing because we didnt know the names of the foods we usually eat because there are no pictures on the menu so we didnt want to experiment we were hungry! My only gripe and thats just because its not what I usually eat it wasnt a family style plate so we couldn't try a bunch of stuff. Thats just my preference

79. Garlic Naan Soft and buttery, perfect naan

We ordered the butter chicken, chicken tandoori, vegetable samosas, garlic naan, and basmati rice. Everything was flavorful and tasted fresh, and the portions were great. The butter chicken was especially delicious with the rice and garlic naan, and we really enjoyed the tandoori chicken too. Definitely a great first experience. We'll be ordering from here again, and next time we'd love to actually come in and try more of the menu!

I ordered a lot so here's my opinion on everything I got: Chicken Momo - Basically like a chicken potsticker but lightly spiced with Indian spices and came with two sauces. One smokier and sweeter one and one mint cilantro one. This was my first time having Nepalese Momo and the sauces really elevate the Momo and it was an amazing bite! Paneer Tikka Masala - Delicious and pretty standard and meets my expectations, I do wish it was spicer (I ordered Medium and I love spice so this ate more like a Mild) Tandoori Chicken (Boneless) - The chicken was so soft and amazingly seasoned! The sautéed veggies on top were an amazing compliment to the chicken and wrapping it in Naan, along with all the different sauces was amazing. My favorite bite of the meal! Baigan Bharta - My first time trying this and the eggplant was so smokey and spiced, it was a very rich veggie dish even without cream, it was delicious with rice or with Naan! Raita - kinda like an Indian tzatziki, but with carrots and cucumbers instead, it complimented the smokey Chicken Tandoori I can't wait to try more things from here!

I received the kindest welcome and delightful service and help from Nisha, who explained the dishes to me and recommended The Combo for my first visit. Such a great suggestion since I had never dined at an Indian Cuisine restaurant before. Each one of the servings in the combo was incredibly flavorful, delicious and very filling. I loved each and every one of them! I even had leftovers to bring home, which I am already looking forward to enjoying. The garlic naan bread is out of this world! Their Mango Lassi is indescribably delicious and Nisha informed me that the yogurt they use is made fresh in the restaurant. It tasted so clean and amazing. Definitely going to be hooked on that!!! The atmosphere was so nice and peaceful after a long busy and stressful week. Exactly what I needed. No loud music or noise that people had to talk over. Very, very nice and relaxing. Thank you for the atmosphere as well. Nisha also blessed me with a rice pudding to try and I can hardly wait to make it my evening snack. Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome on my first visit. I already feel like part of the family with the way Nisha made me feel so valued as more than just a customer......I left there honestly feeling like family. I'll be seeing you all soon and often! Overview: Great deal, food, and service, perfect for a quick dine-in meal or ordering to-go…read more ---- We were driving back to San Diego from Mammoth and was craving Indian Food. We found this place online and decided to fuel our bellies here. Upon entering there are seats on both sides of the restaurant with the serving area and cashier in the middle. We decided to dine-in and they helped us with ordering. I ordered the Dinner Special Thali ($15.99) which comes with 2 entrees, daal, rice, naan, mango lassi, samosa or kheer. I was allowed to choose 3 entrees of my choice from the select options they had in their serving area (not from all the entrees they have on their menu). I like options and variety, so from their limited entrees I chose mushroom saag (spinach based), chicken tikka, and their paneer tikka. I'm glad I got to taste different options but I like the chicken the best. I also chose the kheer and got the mango lassi as my drink. My boyfriend ordered the butter chicken ($14.99), basmati rice ($3.99), and the cheese naan which we asked if they can add garlic and they kindly did ($4.99). Everything was delicious and came out in a timely manner. On the tv's they were playing Indian music and their music videos, which were entertaining to watch. ---- Overall: the price point and tasty food are reasons we'd be stopping by if we're ever in the area again or driving back to SD, definitely check this place out if you want some yummy Indian food in Riverside at a reasonable price!

Me personally, I'm not much of a curry type unless I really have the craving for it. And I tend to stick to my usual. It's right in the heart of the village and along the main strip. Sunday night when we arrived, it wasn't too busy with a few tables occupied. From the look of it outside, it didn't seem too big. But once you're inside, there's the main dining area and another one to the side which wasn't utilized. We didn't need reservations which we thought we would. Service was great as all the staffs were very friendly and accommodating. Menu wise, a mixture of everything. After a day of drinks, we didn't want to see any more alcohol...lol... I alway forget whenever I order an ice tea at any of these establishments, there's always cinnamon added. I like my tea plain with no sugar. So that was a bust but not nothing major. We started off with some samosas which were really nice. The sauces that accompanied them were tasty. Also an order of the chicken pakora. They were good but nothing major about them. Different from other places I've had them. Lastly the onion bhaji, a favorite and it was lovely. For mains, everything is à la carte so rice was additional item. As there was four of us, we ordered a mixture is everything to share. The lamb sagg, creamy spinach and had a nice flavor to it but a little skimpy on lamb. I would have preferred chunks instead. Then the paneer sagg which was nice. Between the lamb and panner, I would say paneer takes the lead. Both good but the lamb was a little too skimpy. Of course you have to have chicken tikka which is always a good option. They asked regarding spice level which we did want spicy but it came out more mild. I guess they didn't think we could handle the heat...lol... Lastly the lamb tandoori. That was a favorite and cooked perfectly. A nice grill to it and very juicy. As mentioned, everything is à la carte so rice was an additional item. And you can't leave out the garlic nann. Overall the food was quite tasty and much enjoyed. Spice level could have been a little spicier but it was fine. Better safe than sorry. The only downfall for me was the lamb sagg, but besides that we greatly enjoyed everything. Service was nice and all the staffs were amazing and very friendly. They have prime location on the strip.

Having been here multiple times in the last decade, our visit yesterday was a bit disappointing,…read moreand I can no longer give this spot 5 stars. For a restaurant in a touristy area, it still lands at a solid 3.5 to 4 stars, but the experience has definitely taken a step back. Cleanliness - there's a fly constantly going up and down the window we sat next to. It was getting a lot of my attention but alas I did not have a fly swatter. Lucky sob!!! Food - portion sizes felt smaller. While Indian dishes aren't typically huge, the presentation this time made them look a bit meager--it could be the dinnerware, the presentation? I don't know. Flavor-wise, something has changed for the worse. The Chicken Tikka Masala was decent, but lacked the rich depth and spice profile of our previous visits. The Fish Vindaloo suffered a similar fate. It wasn't bad, but it lacked that bold, signature Indian flavor. Also, using salmon felt like a misstep; its strong flavor tends to clash with vindaloo spices rather than absorb them. Side note, this dish was not at all spicy. And the server never asked us about the spiciness level of any of the dishes we ordered. Maybe they only offer non-spicy for all their dishes?? The same vindaloo dish at our favorite Indian restaurant in L.A. is very spicy and full of other favors. Service was just ok. The restaurant was quiet, with far more empty tables than occupied ones, yet the food took quite a while to come out. At one point, at least four servers were standing around the counter watching the dinning hall. Yet, other than delivering the food, no one came to any of the tables to check on them once the food had been delivered. Multiple times nearby tables waved their hands in the air to get attention after they got their food. We overheard one young man asking for hot sauce and chuckled - so someone else wanted their food spicier, too! Come here if you REALLY love touristy/Americanized Indian or want some vegetarian choices. Personally, I'll find dinner elsewhere next time in Big Bear.
