The food was beautifully balanced, it wasn't very spicy but was nice. My friend and I both had vegetarian dishes and they were very hearty with many vegetables and good quality sauces. The cheese naan was to die for, very oily but tastes amazing. I might come back here. The food was good but there are plenty of beautiful places in and around semaphore road that are competing with this place. It is the best Nepalese place I have tried in Semaphore so far though.

A friend suggested I try Journey to Everest, and I must say that as a result of their excellent recommendation, I am now a convert to Nepalese food. In my view, it is Indian cuisine's sleeker sister. This restaurant offers not a large or lavish dining area, but one that punches above its weight. The surrounds are functional, and the service is OK, the food however is another story. Nepalese food appears to be less oily and lighter than its Indian counterpart, and that allows you to enjoy the flavour more fully. My favourite on their menu is the Madagascar Duck, a sublime feast of duck legs and a well chosen and cooked medley of vegetables in a curry sauce. No rice needed! Journey to Everest has now become a regular fixture for every journey to Semaphore!

You probably recognise the name from the old Yoga greeting: loosely translated Namaste means 'I bow…read moreto you.' I'm a big fan of the menu here. The charcoal clay oven chicken is delicious, I highly recommend. They have a lovely mix of Indian, Chinese and Tibetan, and what I appreciate most is that they go light on the spices. I'm a huge wuss when it comes to spice and I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of wonderful Asian dishes because I can only handle mild. Namaste has all of the unusual flavours and great taste without turning your body into a sweat lodge. The restaurant is in a lovely cottage, and they have open fires burning in winter and a busy outside area for summer. The service is usually excellent but the last time we went I was disappointed that our waitress seemed to forget us and we had to wait a long time for drinks. This was made up for by our host however, who gave us a complimentary glass of wine because of the wait. Book ahead because this place is majorly popular with the Eastern elite and fills up quick. Note: Lunch is by appointment only and it has to be a group of 12 or more. I recommend this place for dates: it's a romantic setting and hand holding throughout the meal is a must.

Situated in an unassuming shopping block, only a couple of doors down from one of the best Chinese places in town, Zafran Curry Delights is one of my absolute favourite take away places. And they are open until 10.30pm for your after hours noms. By the time you phone in your order, put pants on and drive there your food is ready!! As creatures of habit (and mediocre cheap skates) we tend to order the 'you and me' deal, which comfortably feeds myself and my garbage-desposal-stomached partner for dinner *plus* lunch the next day. Included for the low price of thirty five bucks you get two mains, a large rice, 2 plain naan, a couple of pappadams and either a serve of chicken tikka or sheekh kebab. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CHOOSE THE TIKKA!! Of all the things that have been done to chicken this is by far my favourite, it's juicy and tasty and I could eat a bucket of it. Our usual mains are the beef vindaloo, which they will make extra spicy for you if you ask, and the chicken tikka marsala (which does have a small surcharge if you're getting the meal deal). Eat here. That's about it.

My partner gets the vindaloo and he raves and raves about it. The meat is always so tender and never over cooked. A large rice is more than enough and plenty leftover the next day for lunch! The naan is the best naan I've ever eaten! I love it!! They have changed their name to namaste curry delight now (well on eat now anyway) Do it! You won't regret it!
