I suffered from sciatic nerve pain due to a herniated disc for several months and decided to look into acupuncture after other pain management methods hadn't helped me. I have been suffering from a slipped disc which causes radiating pain from my lower back to my foot and constant numbness and tingling in my toes. Snow comes from a long line of Chinese medicine practitioners and she really knows what she's doing. She is kind and compassionate. The office is very nice and clean. Each treatment is very soothing for your body and soul. My body is very easy to build up stress. When that happens, I have a lot of symptoms including regular headaches, irregular menstrual cycle and, anxiety and nightmares. These symptoms are extremely difficult for Western medicine to treat without taking either anti-depressants or birth control pills. I wanted a natural treatment that increase my body's overall health. Within just a month of treatment most of symptoms are gone. Most importantly, getting my period on time was a huge thing for me. I know a lot of people still don't trust Chinese medicine due to the stigma. Believe me, there are those so-called "Chinese doctors" out there that has completely no idea what they are doing. Earlier this year i started experiencing a dull pain in my elbow and a sharp pain in my forearm when lifting even small items and using hairspray/spray bottles. It persisted for 8-9 weeks before i had time to see my primary care doctor. She recommended physical therapy and a large dose of anti-inflammatory medication and said it was most likely tendonitis. I came to Snow with low expectations that it would help but after one session, i was truly blown away with the results. She used acupuncture along with some electric stimulation. The whole process was explained clearly while she was performing each step and it turned out to even be a relaxing experience. I initially reached out to Hima Acupuncture looking for an alternative treatment of my chronic sinus infections. When I met Snow for my first appointment, she put me completely at ease with her kind and knowledgeable demeanor despite me being completely new to acupuncture. She took a detailed history, thoroughly explained what I should expect during/after a session, and we came up with a treatment plan together. Since then I have been getting weekly treatments (a combination of acupuncture and cupping). Although I still have gotten sick at times since I initially started treatment, there is a noticeable reduction in the frequency, intensity and duration of my acute illness.
