Situated 18 minutes from STL airport and downtown St. Louis, the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac hotel offers upscale accommodations. The hotel's opulent lobby and proximity to the Plaza Frontenac, make it an ideal choice. This is an old hotel as well. The Saint Louis Zoo is 6.8 miles away. Guests can enjoy an outdoor pool, fitness center, business area, restaurant, barber shop, ATM and bar on-site. The average nightly rate is approximately $140.00, excluding taxes and fees, with free parking and WiFi. Our visit took place on 1/8/25. The hotels do have a shuttle to and from the airport. As you step into the hotel, you are greeted by a stunning lobby that evokes the grandeur of a Great Gatsby-inspired setting. The check-in area is conveniently located to the right, where you will encounter exceptional staff who are not only friendly but also genuinely enthusiastic about their work. The hotel's sheer scale and beautiful décor throughout its halls are truly impressive, a testament to Hilton's outstanding design. Upon entering our room, we were pleased to find it quite spacious. We had booked the standard king room, which came with complimentary water bottles. While the room itself was clean, the bathroom was only marginally satisfactory. The presence of a long hair on the door (Photo provided) was especially striking. So the rest of the bathroom was adequate. The room also featured a 42-inch smart TV with Netflix and other streaming services, and the bed was truly remarkable. Its comfort and softness enabled me to sleep exceptionally well. We did not utilize the bar and restaurant or the pool. However, we did have the opportunity to use the gym, which was in excellent condition - 1 Peloton, 2 bikes, 2 ellipticals, 3 treadmills, rower, multifunction cable machine, Precor cable machine with pull-up bar, free weights up to 50lbs, and a sauna. This was probably the nicest hotel gym we have encountered. The equipment all appeared to be brand new. We had a great workout and appreciated the complimentary water. When in the main building of the hotel, you will have to walk to the gym located in the adjacent building that houses the barber shop. Fortunately, a walkway on the 3rd floor connects the two buildings, allowing you to avoid walking outside. The location was outstanding, boasting an array of shopping areas and restaurants within walking distance. A store is located just across the street. The hotel's neighborhood seems exceptionally safe for pedestrians. Our stay was delightful, and we look forward to returning. Overall 4.5/5

The worst. The only feeling that I can compare it to is the being admitted to the dated maternity floor postpartum. Aside from the actual nastiness of our room, Dijon (the front desk host of the property) didn't even know how to direct me to my room which was located across the parking lot in the ugly stepsister building. First, he told me to go down the hallway and turn right IN THE WRONG BUILDING. When I questioned his directions based on the engraved directions on the hotel wall, He asked if I could download a map to navigate me vs just showing me how to get there. Begrudgingly he put on his coat and walked ahead of me through the parking lot and other building. Believe it or not he did not offer to even carry one of my three suitcases. I get it though.. congrats for actually standing up and escorting a woman to their room across the parking lot at night in a second building... Not to mention figuring out where a guest's room is.

Stayed at the Hilton Frontenac recently and here are my thoughts. The hotel is quite large with a very spacious lobby, giving off some serious grand vibes right from the entrance. The rooms are spread out across multiple buildings, and there's even a second building that houses both rooms and a barbershop - who would have thought of that combo? The ballrooms are extensive and perfect for large gatherings. The service was good and the rooms were clean, though they did have a slightly dated appearance, giving me the sense that this hotel was in its prime during the seventies. Despite that, it still offers a good place to stay. Although I must confess when I was leaving and irate guest was complaining about her room being filthy. That wasn't my experience. But good to note. They host a lot of weddings and even work with airlines for their crews, which usually speaks volumes about the reliability and quality of a place. All in all, Hilton Frontenac is a solid choice if you're looking for a comfortable stay with a touch of nostalgic charm.

Is this three or four starts? Debatable. The lobby does have a bit of charm. It was a family owned hotel that is now under the Hilton flag. Oddly it feels and rooms look like an older Hilton, but lobby and outside gave it away that it didn't start as a Hilton. It is a vast hotel. I was "upgraded" to a suite at furtherest location on property, which is about a five minute walk from the front desk. It would not be good with a lot of luggage. I poked my head in the restaurant and it looked old. For the price I paid, about $200, it was a decent room and I would probably stay again for business in the area. I would rate this as I would a Hilton garden or older Hilton, 3 star, good not great.

On arrival, we were greeted warmly by staff and directed where to check in. After checking in, we were offered cucumber water with lemon and a beautiful spread of charcuterie snacks, parfaits, macarons, and more! They were having a happy hour and I'm not sure if this is an everyday occurrence, but it was really nice! We sat down in the gorgeous lobby for a few minutes and enjoyed egg rolls and shrimp. Wait staff was very polite and kind to my children as well! Then we got to our room and it was beautiful. The whole hotel smells fantastic and everything was spotless. The front desk was extremely accommodating. We checked out the pool, but didn't get to swim. It looked really nice. We just didn't have time on this trip. We will definitely stay here again! Oh and the breakfast was really good! We ordered off the menu and they were very accommodating to my picky gut and my children's picky tastebuds.

Six nights here in a room that was so far in the back of the hotel that I managed to start each day with a thousand steps, walking out to the car. This place is massive. It is a full service hotel with a bar, restaurant, bell stand and multiple meeting rooms and ballrooms. My room on the third floor was extremely quiet. Lots of space with a king size bed in a room that could easily hold another. Decent work desk with power outlets and a large flat panel television that I never turned on. Wifi worked well. Large bathroom with an enclosed shower and two vanity sinks. The hotel is only doing housekeeping on request, so I requested it only on my fourth day. They did a great job of resetting the room and restocking. I am a Diamond in Hilton's rewards programs and since the hotel does not have an open concierge lounge, I was given vouchers for free drinks (only domestic beers and the cheapest wine) and a discount on the breakfast buffet. I only had the buffet one morning and it was okay. Nothing special and I couldn't figure out the difference between the "continental" and the "full" and didn't ask. The hotel is routinely used for large meetings so expect the parking to be a challenge if you arrive when one of those events is going on. [Review 17245 overall - 150 in Missouri - 762 of 2022.]

    Ornate lobby

An ornate, majestic hotel with the grandeur of properties of many years ago - as you walk into the lobby, the décor and ambiance reminds you of past opulence, one you see/read about of the past. The two staircases, beautiful chandelier, and as others noted, a pleasant scent pumped into the air (those with allergies should be aware) - all equates to a pleasant and enjoyable week stay at the Hilton Frontenac. The property has ballrooms/conference rooms that are often booked for weddings, work conferences, etc. so be aware that on the weekends, it can get a bit rambunctious; and during the weekdays conferences/events occurs meaning parking may be an issue at times. There is a restaurant + bar on site - I was unable to dine in the morning (using Hilton breakfast voucher) because I left too early. Bar has a great selection of beer + whiskey - great for night caps. Plus: * Nice, expansive property that exceeds Hilton standards * Good gym - a room split into two sections - the back half has dumbbells and benches, yoga mats - would be a bit tight for more than two to work out; the front half has cardio (elliptical, threadmill), machine NOTE: the gym is located in the auxiliary building away from the main building * Outstanding, attentive, and professional staff - I expected intermittent housekeeping, it was daily * Free parking! (unlike the hotels downtown) Minus: * A bit dated and upgrades need to be planned soon * My room did not have an alarm clock (meaning I had to have my phone handy to see the time); no paper/pen to take notes (COVID protocols?) A property away from downtown and close to the upscale shopping area - Hilton Frontenac is a pleasant change from the hustle and bustle of downtown properties.

I did the survey from my stay asking to be contacted and never heard back. This stay was awful. I sat at the restaurant bar for 48 minutes I ordered one beer and never once got served or asked if I wanted a menu I never got checked on. I had to fly down the bartender to close out. I ended up door dashing food to my room. Next thing I found a hole in the wall by the bedframe. It smelled awful. I would bet there's black mold in the wall. I kept getting sick and awful headaches I thought it was allergies, but I used to work for Hilton hotels, and work closely with my engineering department, so i know harmful mold when I see and smell it. I was very disappointed when they sent up an engineer to spray something into the wall and proceed to close it with a sticker the sticker was the QR code to order food. I was told I can't change rooms because they were sold out. They should be doing thorough walk-throughs with the general manager and the housekeeping Director as Hilton protocol to ensure rooms are ready to go, and if not put it out of order until it's ready. Next thing the rooms are extremely outdated. The wallpaper is bubbling falling off. I couldn't even iron my work clothes because I couldn't read the dial. The bathroom had hair all over it when I checked in the wall is cracked for paying almost $400 a night. I expected more. My company travels here for Work so to report back to them of poor stay wasn't great. I was grateful I was refunded one night stay however my company pays for the room so overall you compensated my free stay anyways, but overall it doesn't even come close to fixing this stay. This is my first time in St. Louis so I was extremely excited and now don't have a reason to come back for leisure

Stayed here for business. The hotel is dated but ornate and quaint The staff is wonderful and helpful. Kudos on the customer service! The bed was comfortable and the room large. The bathroom has wonderful water pressure I would stay here again There is plenty to do in this nice suburb and it's about 15 minutes drive to downtown and the baseball stadium

We wrapped up our informal wander through the fabulous Delmar Loop and drifted up here for a final drink, a skyline check and that signature rotating oversized Moon glowing over the building. By pure luck, it was a full moon over Saint Louis too which felt a little on the nose in the best possible way. The rooftop is solid, a clear arc of the city that makes you slow down to appreciate the view. The space itself is exactly what you want at the end of the night. Open, relaxed and elevated enough to feel like a finale without trying too hard. The music was much louder than I'd prefer and not an artist I'd ever queue up for a mellow nightcap and it did sort of get in the way of the vibe. The kitchen had already closed, which killed the idea of a final nibble with our round of drinks. The bartender did offer the workaround of having DoorDash delivered to the bar but we weren't going to hang around that long. The Old Fashioned he put together was excellent, balanced and smooth. Just what I needed as my Fitbit clocked over 10k steps. As a final stop on a Loop night, the Moonrise works beautifully. You get the view of downtown Saint Louis in the distance, the atmosphere, the giant Moon doing its thing and a comfortable landing spot before calling it a night. I even got to watch my Royals (that's right STL, my ROYALS) win game 6 of the World Series in resounding fashion up on the rooftop here. Good times. A dozen or so years later, feeling nostalgic, and having struck out on some downtown STL hotels, I opted to come back here. Unlike my Royals, this place has still got it. Friendly staff upon check-in, and they let me know they don't have valet which I was honestly relieved about. When I'm traveling solo, I sort of just want access to my car, not to have to wait 15 minutes to go to the trouble of retrieving a phone charger out of my console. There is a little lot in the back that they'll check if you're a guest before allowing you in during busy periods. The room was nice, and the elevators are quick. The shower pressure is WAY better than I remember, at least it was on the third floor. The bed was insanely comfortable, and really, no complaints. The one issue was the little room couch was filthy in my room, with visible stains and grossness.. I just avoided it during my stay. The rest of the room was clean. No hotel gym that I noticed, but not far from Forest Park if you want to jog or walk (beware the insane STL drivers). I also took my takeout dinner to the rooftop which was nice, but not yet open for the season. I still appreciate them letting me up there for some fresh air and views. Lastly, the Delmar Loop has quite a bit! This area offers good coffee shops, a store, tons of quality restaurants, and all within walking distance. Nice place overall, and definitely in my consideration every time I come to STL.

I always check-in through the app, so I often don't come in contact with the front desk staff. Once I overheard that conversation, I called the front desk from my room and the parking fee was confirmed. I had to give them a description of my vehicle and I the state of registration. It was so convenient to have our first meal there before we ventured out into the city each day. Having hot items as well as the usual fruits, pastries, waffles and cereal was very nice. We also appreciated having the coffee and tea bar open 24 hours a day. The rooms are fairly well-insulated. We heard minimal noise in the hallways and none from outside the hotel, despite the proximity of I-64 (just one block away). The location of the Hampton is ideal for those visiting Forest Park and its environs. The Park is just 5 minutes away by car, and the Science Center is just down the street. St Louis Community College is across the street, so the area is generally quiet. There are restaurants and gas stations about a half-mile away, and grocery stores are 10 minutes away by car. Downtown is 10 -15 minutes away, depending on traffic. The few less-than-stellar items we encountered were the mattresses, which were somewhat lumpy; the bed and bath linens, which were somewhat worn; and our room wall thermostat, which seemed incapable of keeping a steady temperature. These would be fairly easy issues to address and bring the hotel's rating to a solid 5 stars for me. Overall, many thanks to the Hampton Inn at Forest Park for a lovely stay in Saint Louis!

And some of my travels have taken me thru the St Louis area a time or two. Besides being awestruck by some of the beautiful women there, nothing about Missouri in general really ever wowed me! So when my friends told me that our hotel was nice, I was like, "Okay. But how nice can it really be? I mean.. at the end of the day, we're in Missouri. It's the Show Me state, right? Then show me!" So we pull up to a structure that looks like an old train station. Makes sense, because as I found out, it previously was. So kudos to the engineer for breathing new life in to a beautiful, aged edifice. But I'd seen similar before so I wasn't necessarily blown back. Even to access the lobby was a bit tricky so... strike there. We get to the front desk and the staff is warm and inviting. Genuinely so. Points there! You can pay people to be nice but that only lasts so long. When that's just the way you are, that's a different thing altogether! And these people were the real deal! My friends kept talking about walking around and mini golf. It was already getting cold and I don't like the cold so I'm already turned off, but I always like to at least give serendipity a chance so I told my friends I'd go with. Lo and behold, everyone takes a longer than intended nap and I can't sleep, so I decide to go wander by myself. I started by trying to find this mini-golf that's supposed to be connected to the hotel somehow. So I see the sign and I follow it. It takes me though an atrium of some kind where it turns from enclosed environment to a domed, open air feel. Ok. That's cool. Cold, actually but I'm up for an adventure. So I follow the walk way around an ok looking pool, but it was closed because it was cold, and then it happens. I step out on to a boardwalk. The ground literally transformed beneath my feet. In front of me was a lake, with Lily pads (which I later found out held the torches for the pyrotechnics show a little later on), a couple of eateries and not just a mini golf course but an amusement park. I'd never been so amazed in my life. I was completely blown away. Inside this repurposed train station, they created a Shangri-La for the weary Midwest traveller. I gotta say... it was one of the most unexpected things that I've had happen to me in a while. So if you're ever driving through downtown St Louis... just up the street from the Arch... be sure to wander around the St Louis Union Station. And who knows... maybe stay a night or two. Whether it is the quaintly appointed guest…read morerooms or the delightful library and parlor, each area of this former residence is unique and meticulously maintained. While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold. We'll be back - and you should give Fleur-de-Lys a try!

Mark, Leslie, and Lilly were all friendly and kind. Never, have I ever, stayed somewhere for the first time, and felt such a warm feeling of being home. Good stay overall…read more Front desk staff was friendly and an easy check-in. The key card also serves as your entrance in and out of the garage. As well the key card accesses floor on the elevator. King suite was prepared for my arrival. No issues with the room, or bath. I did not utilize the free breakfast. Of not the hotel is downtown. There is crime as in other big cities. I felt completely safe with hotel security. I especially felt safe in the garage that has steel doors protecting the car and also guest exiting and entering. I would stay again as the hotel had a good value and location.

I visited STL for a conference at the Federal Reserve, so my job chose this hotel for me, but…read morehonestly, it was a great location. It was closer to the Fed than the conference block of rooms had been (Work registered me for lodging a little late), and within walking distance to many, many restaurants and tourist areas. It also has free breakfast for guests, so that helped on days when I didn't have breakfast provided for me. The first day I was in the City, I got caught in one of summer's typical downpours, and I don't know what was released into the air, but I had an allergy attack like nothing I have ever experienced. I needed antihistamines IMMEDIATELY, but I was also couldn't breathe, so leaving my room to go back out into the spores was the last thing I wanted to do. 0/10 would not recommend. Luckily, they had some items available in their little shop and I took a Claritin and eventually regained the use of my right nostril. The staff behind the desk was incredibly kind to me. Not sure if that's just their hospitality or because I looked such a hot mess that they felt sympathy for me, but I appreciated their gentile ways. Every time I went to ask them for help, they were gracious, patient, and knowledgeable. In all, the stay here was a great experience for the week I was in town.
