!! I truly wish they would have announced that the pool was closed. Maybe have something at the front desk or in the elevators. My room was on the 14th floor and besides there being some renovations during the day, the accommodations were amazing. One morning I got breakfast sent to my room. One evening after eating at Fiume, I went for a drink and a cheese board at the hotel bar. Everything turned out perfectly. No doubt this will be the place I will stay when visiting San Antonio. Even got live music in the evenings from Prost and Smoke right next to the hotel!

We came to town for an Air Force boot camp graduation. Every employee from valet, to desk to manager and bartenders were so friendly. We received excellent service during renovations and construction. Our room suffered a freak flood and the staff was quick to check on us and accommodate. We will return.

The hotel is beautiful and a great location! Upon arriving we were met by valet and bellman Michael. He said we could check in and he would get the bags from the back of our vehicle. It was a smooth drop off and luggage was handled with ease. Check in was just as easy and after numerous chats sent about a possible upgrade they ensured us they would check upon arrival. We were upgraded to a riverwalk balcony room. We loved the lights, and morning coffee and reading were great. The location of the hotel allowed us to explore riverwalk with ease. There was a Rio Go boat ticket booth and launch across the street. So many restaurants and special street vendors because of the holiday. Though we had access to a number of restaurants, we really weren't impressed with the Durty Nelly or Riverwalk Cafe. That happened to be the only downfall. We would highly recommend the hotel for location, cleanliness, staff attentiveness, and our overall stay. If you stay and are curious about the areas attractions or directions see Michael, so knowledgable!

Beautiful experience. I will definitely be returning with my family. I stayed here my last night in San Antonio for business since my flight was delayed a day. From the check in to my departure I felt like a wealthy person lol. My room was beautiful and clean. My balcony had a spectacular view of the Riverwalk. I dined at the wine and pizza restaurant for dinner it did not disappoint as they have a pizza oven outside on the patio overlooking to riverwalk. I had intended on having breakfast in the main restaurant. When I arrived the breakfast buffet was set up but I was told that I could no longer order breakfast at 11:30am. I had to order lunch even though there was plenty of food. This was a little disappointing but I ordered a soup since I was starving then headed to the Starbucks inside the hotel where the barista was very pleasant and grabbed a coffee and yogurt. I was able to check my luggage until it was time for my Uber to arrive to take me to the airport which was very nice. I also wanted to mention that it smelled divine in the lobby!

I stayed here for almost a week for business. It's a few minutes walking distance to Henry Gonzales Convention Center which was very convenient. Service here was excellent. All the staff were super friendly. There's several restaurant in-house including a small Starbucks in the lobby area near the front entrance. I was on the 19th floor so I had a fantastic view of San Antonio. My room was nice and clean, free WiFi and close to all the Riverwalk sites and eateries. Cheers!

Stayed here last week for a work conference. Conveniently located on the Riverwalk, this hotel is in serious need of renovations. The lobby area looks nice, but the rooms not so much. Had an old feel to it. The water pressure in the shower was pretty low. The sensor lights in the room were annoying. The elevators on one side were broken. I'm a Hilton member, and while checking in, I wasn't offered any bottled water. My co-workers got water. It's not a huge deal, but the first time that's ever happened. The employee checking me in wasn't very friendly or engaging. Although I wasn't on the Riverwalk side, it still got pretty loud at night. This isn't a hotel I'd choose on my own.

This is my first time staying here and I must say it has been an exceptional experience thus far! The staff were such a delight. The room was cleaned daily! But the shower was a bit too loud for my liking. Aside from that I enjoyed my patio and the ability to sit on it and see the town.

Property is overall nice and in a great location. They are upgrading the elevators to include floor selection versus pressing the button inside. The coffee shop has Starbucks. The fitness room could use some work and the mats were filthy and due for replacing. There were ironing board issues in my room. Customer service was inconsistent: Sometimes they were nice, other times they ignored. I'd still suggest this location if you are going to visit the Riverwalk.

5/5 for everything. The room was beautiful and spacious. I had a wonderful view of the river and the balcony was very enjoyable all day long. Staff were fantastic and very accommodating. Any time I asked for water or towels they were able to give me what I needed very quickly. The beds are comfortable and the pillows were great! The decorations around the hotel were very culturally appropriate and beautiful. Also the restaurants on site were good and I enjoyed the selections for lunch and dinner! I would stay here again.

While visiting San Antonio I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful historic property. While it has a historic charm, the property has all modern amenities including a pool on the fifth floor overlooking the city. You walk out the back door onto the river walk in an ideal location surrounded by great restaurants and shops. We boarded the river cruise just feet away from our hotel. This property is in a perfect location and has an amazing staff. Christian was extremely helpful during my stay. We were upgraded to a river view which was a nice surprise.I would highly recommend this property.

My Man Crush and I stayed here for a weekend in December. Very beautiful and fancy place! The service was outstanding as well. I loved our city views; however, I recommend staying on the Riverwalk side. Even with being on the 21st floor, the traffic noise was LOUD. I loved the room and amenities and the bed was very, very comfy! The hotel is ON the Riverwalk so it's super convenient to restaurants and shopping. There is a parking charge but that's to be expected at the higher-end hotels in San Antonio. Our balcony only had one chair and TWO would have been nice. Overall, it was a delightful and romantic stay!

Fantastic place for a getaway! Comfortable room with a view. The BEST part of our stay was service by our bright Smile concierge, her name was Christina. She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy guests. That kind of service will keep me coming back Thank you! Joe Hartman Las Flores Ca

The beds and pillows were so comfy, we slept for almost 12 hours our first night... The foods, buffet style, were good, with many options. All of the staff, from the front desk hosts, to the managers, bartender (Annette), food service group... everyone was so friendly, nice, and welcoming. *The only "issue" that we experienced was the super loud, seemed like hours long, of car honkings, engines noice... of 1 night. I really wanted to eat at Ostra again this visit, because I saw redfish on the menu and wondered if it was really as good as my memory of it. I was initially bummed that Ostra was closed for a private event during my stay, BUT my disappointment quickly turned to excitement when I saw the same dish offered on the room service menu. YES!! The Hotel bar offered some great perks for guest, private upstairs access away from the crowds, top notch service and attention from the staff and the opportunity to spend some time sipping cocktails on the couch in private in an old 28,000 gallon beer finishing tank. Having coffee and pastries on a beautiful outdoor patio in the morning was also another great opportunity. There was close access to many different places in the Peal Brewing square area adjacent to Hotel Emma including a great morning street fair on Sunday. Hotel Emma is the only 5 Star Hotel that we are aware of in Texas and also provided an outstanding Michelien rated restaurant for dinner (separate review). Over all, we can not find one thing we were unhappy with during our stay at Hotel Emma, other than the fact that our stay was far too short. Being able to step right out into all the holiday lights and activity is magical. Ironically, because of the location, the boat tours go by about 30x a day you and you will hear the Selena bridge story about as many times... but that's part of the River Walk experience If you stay in a River Walk room - most likely it will be a shared balcony. It was interesting, kinda like being at the pool in terms of privacy but honestly a bit more separation would have been appreciated-even a plant. The hotel itself is a grand old dame--and it definitely shows its age. Behind the beautiful holiday decorations, the floors felt dirty and really needed a deep cleaning or vacuuming. Every time someone walked into the elevator you could feel the floor drop and shift. The adobe-style architecture is charming and floors not so much-they slope noticeably, and the carpet has divots and wear that add to the "creaky" feeling. Overall, the place feels a bit tired. That said, the staff truly try hard, which deserves credit. The hotel has undeniable character and doesn't feel like a chain hotel at all. If you can overlook the obvious maintenance and cleanliness issues, it's still iconic and charming in its own way. Ratings: Cleanliness: (2/5) Staff Effort: (3/5) Location: (5/5) A lovely location with tons of history--just needs some serious TLC to match its reputation.
