The Butcher & Farmer looks gorgeous and I like their philosophy, but I've eaten dinner & breakfast…read morehere and both times were underwhelming. We had dinner on a Saturday night when the atmosphere was electric. We sat at the bar & chatted to the friendly staff. But after waiting 45 minutes for our mains we were absolutely starving. I ordered a steak & my fiancé had the pork spit roast. The steak was tasty but tough. It was served with tomatoes which lacked that burst of flavour that you expect from a restaurant that prides itself on produce. The spit roast had some amazing cracklings but lacked presentation. We had a side of potatoes & a garden salad that were fine. The next day I returned to tram sheds with a friend who was enticed to eat at The Butcher and Farmer by the outdoor seating. I was happy to try again for brunch hoping the previous experience was a one-off glitch. After placing our order the waiter returned after a 10 minute wait to say they had run out of porridge. With no replacement such as muesli, I stuck to my coffee, which didn't really make the grade. My friend ordered avocado, tomato and feta on toast. I'm not sure how this can take over 30 minutes to make, but again we had a long wait for food and the produce was underwhelming. The staff were apologetic & didn't charge for the coffee, but it doesn't change the fact that the meals and wait times are sub-standard and the above average prices aren't reflect in the experience. Fortunately Tram Sheds isn't short options so do go here, but perhaps try somewhere else.

I was always met by very polite and helpful staff. One particular staff member called Francois deserved praise. The only payment form I had that day was a store voucher I carried with m in my phone. He helped me to get that right and I was able to pay for my purchase. Francois has such a calm and professional attitude. He is always polite and extremely helpful.
