This is a densely packed store with lots of tinned, packaged and frozen goods. It's a curious mix of essentials and luxury products like Maggie Beer Elderflower Ice-Cream. Yum! Fresh food comes in the form of bread or milk, so best pop to the Greengrocer a few shops down if you want something living. They have the occasional English chocolate bar in, so worth keeping an eye out if you're a Double Decker or Wispa fan. The chap who owns it is friendly. He's a friendly grocer though not so friendly as to have a listed phone number. Go in and see him instead.

The sweet Oriental lady behind the counter is so friendly, my girlfriend and I comment on it after we exit. She's very happy for us to be heading to the beach on such and beautiful day. Clearly her manner has an impact, because we find ourselves in there for ages gradually accruing all manner of junk/ drinks/ trashy reading material.... all the crucial ingredients required for an afternoon of sunbaking at Clovelly beach... including obligatory mixed lollies, of course. All the bare essentials you'd expect in a corner shop, and a refreshing change from the supermarket. No crowds here. Just one man patiently waiting for us to finalise our mounting pile of goodies.
