Had my first routine servicing today at Hilltop Ford. When scheduling the appointment, their staff was informative, professional, and cheerful, letting me know that they have a pick up/drop off option, which sounded great. Servicing was faster than expected and my car was delivered home promptly. As the car was being dropped I noted that there was a lot of pressure in one tire and let the service person dropping the car know. We looked at the tire together and confirmed a screw in the tire. My heart definitely sank at this point, thinking that this was not the easy experience I had hoped for, and I began to expect the worst: that I might be stranded without a car or that they would make me cover or coordinate a new tire. I again spoke with the service department and send huge kudos to Aliyah for her cheerful, professional manner over the phone and to Eric, who came out, looked at the tire with me, recommended a replacement, answered all my questions and removed and replaced the tire super efficiently (even though he had to drive back and forth to the dealership). There was no fuss about the process, they were accommodating, answered all my questions, and took care of things promptly. While it would have been nice for everyone if this random event hadn't happened, I couldn't have asked for more helpful service. (Not to mention that they washed and vacuumed my car with the basic servicing.) I will be a return customer! read more

Changing my rating. Took the truck in for a vibration issue at 40 mph. The tech diagnosed excessive movement in the front axles. They replaced both front axles, seals, and hardware under warranty with zero hassle. The vibration is completely gone, and the truck drives smooth again. I contacted Hilltop Ford with a radical, almost rebellious idea: I wanted to buy a 2026 Ford F-150, with cash, today, without paying sticker, and without the mystery add-ons that magically appear on the invoice. I was immediately informed that the truck was "selling for over sticker." Naturally. Because nothing says buyer's market like the end of the year. When I suggested negotiating over the phone so I could just show up, hand over the money, and leave with a truck, I was hit with the dealership's sacred mantra: "Presence is power." Translation: Please drive here so we can ignore everything you just said in person. Despite clearly stating--repeatedly--that I was paying cash, the salesman remained deeply committed to discussing monthly payments, as if hoping I'd suddenly forget how money works. Eventually, I was told the sales manager would call me. He did. And wouldn't you know it--he approved exactly the deal I wanted. So I drove in. That's when reality shifted. I was informed that: The person I spoke with was not actually the sales manager, and The deal I was quoted was no longer valid. When I pointed out that someone had been impersonating a sales manager--and produced a recording--the actual sales manager apologized... then calmly explained that there was no way they would sell the truck for anything under sticker. Which is fascinating, because I left and bought the same truck at another East Bay Ford dealership for less than even Hilltop's imaginary sales manager promised. So yes--presence is power. Just not when honesty leaves the building. Final verdict: If you enjoy vanishing deals, phantom authority figures, and being told prices are "impossible" right before you go buy them somewhere else--this is your dealership. Pulling in at Hilltop Ford we were promptly greeted by Mariel Cordon Garcia and one of her Sales Managers. I had inquired the previous day about the Ford Lightening EV truck for my husband, they promptly provided me with answers to my questions on the product availability as well as the lease payment and terms I requested. Mariel had pulled the Bronco to the front driveway, its beefy...do anything...concur anything...go over it ...go through it attitude spoke to us. We excitedly parked the Lightening and skipped over the Bronco; admiring its aggressive stance and utilitarian functionality. We love to go camping, snowboarding, and to the beach. We hopped inside and took the Bronco for a spin, the Wildtrack edition comes with a well powered 2.7L EcoBoost engine, 4x4, Bang and Olufsen sound system and so much more. We went with the Bronco...the car that caught our attention when we first pulled in, not the car we thought we were going to pick up. It just felt like it was meant to be. He asked if in the future to give them another chance to earn business. So I decided to try again. What a waste of time. I advised the team, my tire overnight went flat and I believe there could be something wrong with the tire like a nail or something. Two hours later, "Oh, we can't find anything wrong." Then the tire went flat on me the next day. So I take it to another Dealer in Concord by my job. Guess what, they find the problem and fix it for 15 dollars cheaper than I was quoted in Richmond? SMH. Do the people that work at this location know what they are doing? Your technicians can't even diagnose a nail in a tire. Was it even looked at properly? Here's why: - had an appointment for a recall on a Tuesday - Bro rep patted himself on the back by checking first if they had the part before wasting my time by taking the shuttle home just to come back. Like they did not already waste my time. - he said he's going to order the part and call me. Set a tentative schedule for the end of the week. - never got a call back. So I called a week+ later and there was no order for the part. - lady rep ordered it and got another schedule on a Tuesday. - part is in and went back. Bro rep #2 told me that records show that the recall was done and all other maintenance was done as well. Cringe. I had to take my 23 Mach-E in for some recall fixes. At the same time I asked for a quote to fix a dent in my hood (my fault ). Kevin Bracy was my service advisor - he was friendly, helpful and recommended I take my car over to Accurate Auto Body (see *****review). Took my car in for a simple oil change and it ended up taking over 6 hours. That alone is unacceptable for such a basic service. To make it worse, I later received an email saying my car had been washed and the tire pressure was set. Neither of those things were actually done. Update 1/14/2025: My review isn't about the customer service; the advisors are great, and the ride-alongs were pleasant. However, the service department's negligence and lack of attention to detail have been a huge problem. I own a '16 Mustang Ecoboost with an extended warranty, bought new from Ford. I trusted Ford to understand their vehicles, but I was mistaken. My car was brought in at 110k miles for a recall on the backup camera, and the service department supposedly performed a multipoint inspection. According to their paperwork, they checked the transmission fluid and the mounts. But when I got my car back, it had a major transmission issue--I couldn't go over 10mph without it struggling to shift gears. I took it to an independent shop, and they found that the transmission fluid was black and low, indicating poor service. The transmission would need to be replaced. Given that the dealership had been handling all my service and repairs, including regular maintenance, I don't understand how they missed this glaring issue. This wasn't the first time I experienced problems. In 2022, I brought the car in for rough idling and stalling, and although they replaced the purge valve, the issues persisted. I've attempted to contact the dealership's manager, but after a week with no response, I called Ford corporate. It's now been another week with no follow-up. I'm deeply frustrated with both Ford's service department and their lack of response. I now have an expensive, non-operational car, and I feel deceived by their supposed expertise. Avoid Ford--it's been a costly mistake for me. read more

I brought my 2023 Kia Sportage in for repairs after I couldn't avoid hitting a cone in the freeway. I was directed to Taylor as a service representative for the repairs. I was told that my repairs would be done in about a week and half. After two weeks I hadn't heard anything from Taylor and my car was still not repaired. I had been told I would receive an update call from her but never received it. I went to the dealership and talk to Michael Curtis and was told "she was here on Saturday" like I am supposed to hunt her down to get info on my car. I finally got a hold of Taylor after many attempts. My insurance adjuster couldn't not get in touch with after emails and calls to settle the claim. I was lied to again about the delivery of my vehicle. I have asked to speak with her manager several times and have yet to receive a call!! I have purchased 2 vehicles from this dealership and I deserve better service than what I got. I had to use a rental car for a week and half more than expected!! I will never buy a car from this dealership again if this type of treatment continues!! read more

I want to thank Brandon in the Service Department for helping me in a desperate situation where I was stranded when my Mach E unpaired with my phone and wouldn't start. The plan was for me to leave the car at Hilltop, take a train to where I live (Sacramento), and return on the train the next morning with the key. I arrived with the tow truck just as they were closing and before I left, Brandon wanted to see if he could come up with a solution so I could drive home. He figured out a solution and I was able to drive home and everything with my car is now perfect. What is not included in that story as how kind and calm Brandon was through all of it and even sent me home with a bottle of water and some Liquid IV since I was coming off two days of flights. This is for Hilltop Kia AND Ford. This was the 4th car dealership I've gone to trying to get out of my lease. I called Kia and spoke to Moe, a sales manager, about getting out of my lease a few months early and getting in to something else with a lower payment. He gave me more information in a 5 minute phone call than I've gotten at the previous 3 dealerships. When I told him my availability, he scheduled me with a salesperson as he wouldn't be in. I went, and met with Alana as scheduled and we got right to it, (unlike the previous dealership, where I was scheduled, the guy was off, and the person I met with had none of my info) After looking over my needs Alana confirmed that she didn't have what I was looking for and took me over to ford, where she said there would be more options in my price range, and partnered me with Shawn Patton. Shawn was able to get me the most out of the rebates, and I walked away exactly in the budget I was looking for, with cheaper monthly payments than my previous lease. Afterwards, Shawn took the time to go through all of the time to go through the features with me, and said it's an open door to come back in case I get stuck figuring out how the new electric car works. Lastly, the manager (?) had his door open and I heard him giving advice to a salesperson on how to land a sale and it all seemed like super ethical and reasonable advice, and it seemed like really he cared and wanted his employee to succeed. The last dealership I went to, I overheard them appraising my car and they didn't know I was nearby and the things they were saying were super lame. I had to tell them that I was standing right there and it was embarrassing for everyone. So, it was refreshing here to feel like no one was hiding anything. Both managers from both dealerships have since reached out to me to check on my experience. From start to finish it felt like leadership cared, and it seemed like both dealerships really cared more about the team and overall experience than just who got a commission, and because of that, I felt as good as one can after spending a shit ton of money on a car.
