Great service and great job. Michael basically saved the day. I was rejected by so many seamstresses that wouldn't do the job in such a short period of time, but Lamoda put me at ease and delivered. Thanks to Michael and his team!!

One of those truly inexplicable overall Yelp ratings to me. I had a couple suits tailored here,…read moreand I wouldn't ever use them again. A. Extremely expensive. Both suits required a moderate amount of work but nothing major, and I was charged about $350 total -- no specifics, more of a holistic billing approach. But the Yelp reviews were very positive (even better at the time than they are now) so I was willing to shell out. B. The work was very clearly farmed out to someone else, and was done terribly. One of the pants was taken in so far in the seat that about half my butt fit inside it. Nelson's response was to say "oh, one of my guys must have done that" and he fixed it in about ten minutes, and to his credit fixed it very well. I have no idea who that other guy was or how he could possibly have believed a human ass would have been covered by his tailoring, but he was not ready for his assignments. The other pants were cut similarly, but I was fed up and just left -- before I even noticed that the sleeves on one of the jackets were uneven. Nelson himself is probably a great tailor, as evidenced by his cleanup job, but whoever he's giving work to...well, you might as well do it yourself with nail scissors and floss. C. It took forever. I finally called after 5 weeks or so and was told that "your suits have been here forever, we left you several messages, why haven't YOU picked up your suits?" This was, of course, blatantly not true . . . especially since I then showed up, and only one of my suits was there (the other still with Tailor X, as he figured out how to eliminate more butt fabric). PSA: take your stuff elsewhere. You've been warned.

I will recommend Mark and this business as many times as I possibly can!…read more I needed a dress taken out in two days. The problem wasn't the two days, because I had read Mark and his team's reviews online and saw how quick they can turn a dress over. The problem was me. I couldn't physically bring myself to meet with Mark because I was deep in the thick of planning a party for 350 attendees, the same party I needed the dress for. Mark went above and beyond to ensure that I got the alterations I needed by the time I needed it for. He worked with me from the jump. Although not the most ideal situation, we sorted it out so that my friend dropped the dress off for me after which Mark FaceTimed me to discuss in detail what I needed. Mark, being the knowledgeable and experienced tailor he is, was able to take out the dress without me even being there to try it on for him. It fit PERFECTLY. The cherry on top was that he even personally delivered the dress to my house knowing how stressed and busy I was with party planning. Mark is a class act. Can not say enough good things about him. If you need alterations done, go with Mark. That is all I have to say haha

The cost of restitching the pockets was $10 (very reasonable compared to other tailors in Queens). The jacket was ready when promised and pick-up was easy. The stitching was nice and even. The only minor issue I had was that I wish that 1 single color of thread was used (both black and white were used), but it's not a big deal because the inside of the pocket won't be visible to others. Parking can be a bit tricky, but there's metered parking along 150th Street.
