Very straightforward process- I went in, explained what sort of passport picture I would need, and the proprietor jumped into action! She got out a table with a cloth and pillow so I could put my baby down for the picture. She was very efficient and we got the picture done in one try! 5 minutes later, I received 2 copies of the picture. Paid $19 and we were on our way. This is HUGE when you have a fussy baby who's like "what is going on, why did you just put me on this table, what was that big flash of light, what what what." I had bought some black and white film many years ago but that was about it, everything digital since 2008. I doubt he recognized me except maybe from seeing me read on a table out on the plaza outside. Six years ago or so, a friend had dozens of her own 3-D metal sculptures, basically all black. Large and highly 3 dimensional. She asked if I could photograph them for her and I said no, since one window captured all the blue sky light and the other one faced the sun so light balance was impossible. I tried and showed her that I couldn't do what she needed. She called S L and the owner came over with lights and reflectors and took pictures of all the sculptures. You could see the depth of shadows very clearly in every shot with no color tone at all. She was very happy with the work.

The quality here is a bit better than CVS prints but I would say they are both economy quality. Regular photo prints costs ($29) for 100 photos. This photo print shop also does passport photos. The photographer was able to show me the photo after it was taken and I never had an issue with the photos for passport submission. I've had my passport photos taken here twice so I would recommend them for that purpose.
