No one in Chicago would touch him because it was a holiday, extremely difficult case & he was bleeding profusely from his mouth. We called family in Franklin who also has a special needs child & asked for help getting into their dentist. For a week we went daily to see Dr Snodgrass who tried to save teeth, stabilize his mouth & come up with a plan because he damaged adult teeth. We experienced compassion & unparalleled professionalism for a child who was a one-time patient due to our home location. After the week, Dr. Snodgrass gave us contact information so he could help our local dentist continue what would be a 2-year course of action. Our local dentist referred us for a pediatric dentist due to the trauma. Recently, I was told suddenly that I had an unpaid balance from last year, and they claimed it had been sent to collections!! But I never received any letters, emails, or calls about it. I always pay co-pays up front and have receipts, so this was really confusing especially that I've always paid hundreds to thousands of dollars on top of my kids insurance and never hesitated not to pay upfront. During the last call, the staff member spoke to me in a rude and dismissive way, which felt discriminatory. There was no effort to explain the charges clearly, and instead of helping they threatened to cancel my child's appointment. I expect professionalism and clarity, especially when it comes to billing and sensitive financial matters.
