Terrible service!! I took my Honda to get all windows tinted for $185 on the spot. I waited a week for the bubbles to go away and did not roll my windows down for 2 weeks. The shop refused to redo my windows on the spot and pushed me away. I'm so stupid for trusting a shop on "UNION" to do my windows. The shop is unprofessional and looks like a dump. The adhesive they use dripped on the side panels /doors on my car and they did not clean. When I called them to let them know they advised me that was not their job to clean up their mess. Great work done quick at reasonable prices. What more do you need? I dropped my car off around 12:30pm and it was ready by 3pm. So far the work looks very solid, bubble free, and just right. Had them do my windshield and immediately I noticed creases in the tint and bubbles that were probably not going to go away. I sent them pictures after I left and they said they would go away after the 48 hr wait period. they did not! they would not answer my calls or text back (they primarily text). I drove back and asked to get a refund and they called their boss and all he said was the guys there didn't know how to do that and he didn't know if or when someone could get there to do it. Then the girl said they don't do refunds and that they "warranty"' it. Its not a classy establishment and I'm sure this happens often so I refused to have them fix it. She said they still would have to charge me for the material to which I accepted. All and all a horrible experience with poor material and poor craftsmanship. read more

The place was supposed to open at 8am and it's already close to 9:30am and the owner keeps texting me saying he's almost here and there is a locked gate and I am not able to enter. There are other cars parked outside on the curb as well WAITING. Seems pretty unprofessional. At least give me an EXACT time of when you are arriving so I can run all my errands and come back. Beyond irritated! Then he texts me saying he's got a personal life and another business and stuff. I don't see how any of that was my problem but if he cannot manage the time with his "personal life" and "other business" he should adjust the hours so people aren't wasting their gas and time! I respect the hustle and understand things come up but better communication would have made this situation so much better read more

I found Alex by researching all the window tinting businesses in Bakersfield. Hills Tinting was in my top 3. My top three had a lot of reviews, were all above 4 stars, and mentioned the great quality of service they received. Called each of the three tops for a quote and Alex was by far the best value. He also had an assortment of tint and said if I wanted something else he could probably get it for me. I decided to come in on a Saturday. I called beforehand to make an appointment but Alex said just come any time. I got there at 11:40. He showed me the difference between each type of tint. He also explained which brands he had in stock and what the differences between them were. I decided to go with Rayno even though it was more expensive than what he had quoted over the phone, but declined the ceramic because we are moving to the mountains and won't need the heat reduction as much as we would if we were staying in Kern County. I asked him how long he would be and he said to give him 3 hours tops because he needed a lunch break plus there were two cars in front of me (one he was finishing up). I ran errands around town, never got a call so I went back over at 3:20. He was finishing up tinting a white car, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that must have been the second car he mentioned even though it seemed like an awful long time for one car. There was also a blue car waiting to be tinted as well. I asked Alex why the blue car was next. He said because it was only getting the back windows tinted so wouldn't take as long. I told him we have nothing else to do and we live an hour away. He said it would ONLY be another hour and a half. I was not happy. None the less I took my four young boys to a park down the way for the hour and a half. I went back to Hills Tinting at 5:20...2 hours after he said "hour and a half". He was thankfully working on my car but was not finished. He finished a little before 5:40. 6 hours after I dropped my vehicle off! SIX! He told my husband he upgraded the tint to Rayno Ceramic because he knew I was upset. Which is the only reason I gave Hills Tinting 3 stars instead of 1 or 2. I'm not sure how I'd be able to tell if he really did put ceramic on or if it's the stuff we originally decided on but it looks great. Alex did an excellent job once he got to my car. I was satisfied with the work but not the time it took to complete it. He was dismisive and did not treat me as others had stated how he treats his customers. Would I go to him again? Yes, but I would keep my boys home and I'd stay there the entire time. read more
