This place was amazing. First off they came in as the cheapest price but highest quality from multiple friends I asked for my truck tint. There extremely friendly even squeezed me in on Monday so I can have my truck ready for a weekend trip that same weekend. They also accommodated me taking my truck the Friday night before so I wouldn't have to figure out or lose time with dropping it off in the morning. They were extremely knowledgeable and explained every reasoning for why I should get the tint done a specific way or not. This is my second time going to Solar Solutions/Bakersfield Tint. I first went back in 2020 with a Honda and now I'm back with my KIA. I trust the work that's why I went back. I went in and got the ceramic 20% tint on all windows and am head over heels in love with the work. My kids and I won't have an overheating car for the summer. The pictures don't do justice of how great the work looks. I love it it's like a new car! I love how it's dark but not to dark and perfect. Mike and his team did a great job on my car. I dropped it off at 8:30am Friday morning and Mike called me in less than an hour.. telling me it was ready. Keep in mind they had to remove tint from a few windows that were done at another tint shop that left dirt and bubbles behind the tint, it looked terrible and they replaced the tint with the same shade and quality. They did a good job on the tint but I felt that they didn't care about my business. I had my tint done on 5/28/20 Upon driving away at 2pm I started getting errors from my car stating that the blind spot monitor and lane departure warning were malfunctioning. I immediately called and the receptionist answered and told me that everyone had gone home already. Which was crazy because I had just left and wasn't home yet. The receptionist sounded like he was taking notes and told me someone would call me the next day. No one did. Either he didn't pass along the info or the owner etc didn't care. Luckily my sensors were working the next day. But I didn't know that they would be. No one said anything to me about them when I was paying for the tint or booking the appt. I had to do a lot of research on my own to find out that this has happened to people before. It shouldn't be that way. Because of this I'm not sure if I would go back. So tonight I went to the Condors game and my car was (almost) broken into. There was a truck behind me whose window was also smashed in. The reason why I'm posting here is because the difference between our cars is that mine had tinted windows from Solar Solution and the thieves didn't get through!!! I brought my brand new Porsche Cayenne to this place and had the front two windows tinted. The tint itself was ok, however the installers heated the door panels too much while shrinking the tint. It's no coincidence that both sides were burnt where tint had been applied. I called them and sent pictures. They denied that they were the cause of the panels being burnt. Mike (the manager) tried saying that the panels were aged by the sun. Which is clearly a lie, the car is 5 months old. I will never bring a car to this tint shop they are not honest people and do not stand behind there work. read more

Just going off the record, Solar Solutions never resolved the issue on the blade cuts on the paint nor refunded my money on damaged panels and film peeling off. If anyone wants a PPF done right, which means no jagged cuts done by an amateur and paint is taken into serious consideration of not getting cut that you can see the primer, I recommend bringing your cars to American Wrap Co. and Tyler will take care of you. read more

I will be as honest as possible with my review as I'm not one to complain. Online, this place is under the website as Bakersfield's Tint and also known as Solar Solutions. Work was decent despite having a tear in the window tint which they did fix by replacing it. My issues pertain mostly to the lack of professionalism with a gentleman named Mike. This place is under new ownership and quite frankly they lack experience. Was quoted different prices by Mike which was strange and told they've worked on Tesla's only to find out that they have limited experience as they were not able to tint the Sun Roof when they initially told me they could... i would have appreciated their upfront honesty. To be fair, I gave 2 stars because they did honor and fix the tear in the tint. I found a place in Valencia called Autoskinz that can tint the entire car even the sun roof for $895. However, the sun roof tint is costing me $495 since I got my windows tinted with Solar Solutions. Had I gone there first to Autoskinz, I would have save more money as there's a bundled discount if you tint the entire car. Anyhow, I hope this review helps those looking to tint their cars and especially if you're a Tesla owner. Tony read more

Just dropped off my 3rd vehicle to have window tint done. I have tried 2 other tint installers and did not have a great experience. Bakersfield tint/solar solutions is the 3rd tint installer i have tried in bakersfield and will not go anywhere else. They are the only authorized xpel tint installer in bakersfield according to xpel website. If you want xpel tint installed they are your local installer. Some reviews are complaining about pricing but i believe the tint brand sets the pricing because i have called other xpel authhorized installers in different cities and all had same prices. As long as we live in bakersfield they will be our tint installer. read more

Can't recommend this place enough.. I recently bought a new Audi Q7 with no window tinting on it whatsoever. After talking to my local dealership and hearing their recommendations, everything was a little bit more than I had intended to spend on tinting the windows. However I found solar solutions and talked to Laken over the phone who was great and insured trust in me though the company. I ended up bringing my car in after we discussed some quotes over the phone.. I was very skeptical to take my new car to a place that wasn't the dealership to have tint installed. When my car was done being tinted I took it happily and went on my way. About 2 days later I noticed a little bit of dirt that was in my tint in the rear left window. I took my car back into solar solutions and spoke with Damon who was very sympathetic and took full responsibility for the tint job. After about an hour or two of waiting Damon and his crew re-installed the tint on the glass to clean out the dirt. I couldn't be happier with my experience at solar solutions and they have definitely gained my trust through the pride and honesty they put into their work. Called up and Bre said we could come on in that same day. We had our brand new car tinted here. Overall, I'm happy with it. What I wasn't happy about was that our car, with less than 200 miles, had oily soapy spots all over the interior, down the carpets, down the speaker grills, and throughout the trim and interior. It's the solution they use to apply the tint, however a courtesy wipe down would have been appreciated, especially on a new car. There were a couple of dust/air bubbles in the tint, and they seem to mostly resolve, but I'm happy with what I got. read more

The XR Plus is worth every penny in my view. I initially thought it was too expensive at this SS and I went to two other places who had ceramic tint and they couldn't explain why it's better. The tint initially seemed great - but after getting the car home I discovered there was dirt trapped in the tint and a window track had been left off. Luckily I live around the corner so it isn't hard to get fixed. I don't want to be nit picky but that's kinda a big deal. There was soapy spots all over the car doors as well. The receptionist was dismissive when I brought the car back - and when it was fixed the quality still wasn't there... still dirt in the window and small issues where the tint ripped Overall they have quality products and decent instillation but it seems rushed with no care or attention to detail. I think it would be worth paying more to know that every aspect of the process will be done with care. Won't be returning or recommending by any means. read more
