It didn't matter that it was 2° up in the Berkshires- because all hubs (and I) wanted to do is trek…read morefor a bit- even if we called it a day in 15 minutes because of the numb-feeling temperature. Hubs had located one of the many, many, many trails within the the area In Lenox and noticed the Yokun trail. Be warned though and drive slow to get here- as some roads in the area are insanely narrow right next to dropping woody hillsides. Breathe. From the little bit we experienced, trails around the area offer walking and hiking options to suit all levels. Even though we were suited up for the trek, it was still freezing and difficult to walk on the cracked ice so we cut our walk short. Real short. We ventured a bit more and drove to the main office where Rosie(y?) helped and answered all our questions. We liked it here- but I'm sure it's magnificent in the Spring and Summer mostly where you can see all the lushness and some wildlife. What I also liked about Yokun Trail is that it's well-formed and signposted. You could try to tackle and get to the tallest peaks in the area to see the beautiful landscape- but for that, hubs and I will wait for better temperature to explore more of the wilderness.

Sense and Sensibility was THE worst production I have ever seen in my 52 years of theatre!…read more Atrocious! Shame - always have had marvelous experiences here. Producer/director failure. Only one actor in drag? Confusing half ( almost ) funny; half serious. Two roles per actor! And no scenery changes- apart from the imaginary piano forté. Utter disaster.

First time attending this unique & beautiful outdoor theatre. And maybe my last time too…read more Though I haven't read or attended any Shakespeare plays since 12th grade I am fairly certain Shakespeare would be rolling over in his grave had he witnessed the butchering of this Classic! What the He** was that? This director turned a classic into garbage by inserting his view of modernizing the story, the costumes, the music - everything. I can tell you it was difficult to not walk out before the end of this performance. With respect to the hard working professional actors we did not until 3-5 minutes left in the show when it further fell apart and we just said NO MAS! I would to try this again but it will have to be a non Shakespeare play. Oh and BTW, the ticket seller said that this play was really good & funny. Really? Maybe if your CBD was laced with something. Overall not an enjoyable evening and surely a waste of $90. Too bad. You win some & you lose some. I put this one in the loss column.

I boarded my horse at Nick of Time Equine for a little over a year. I write this review in hopes…read morethat others won't make the same mistake. While at the facility, my mare suddenly lost about 200 pounds. I had my vets out on multiple occasions, though Nicole Amell, the facility owner and trainer, repeatedly insisted that my horse was just fine. She also told me that my vets, from a large well-respected practice, were terrible, and advised me to ignore their advice. She'd had something against my vets from the very beginning, but I had been using them for years. My mare was diagnosed with Cushing's disease, put on medication, and slowly started to gain the weight back. My mare was plagued with a number of health issues during the time we spent at the facility, and during vet appointments Nicole would directly lie to my vet. I resorted to calling my vet afterward to make sure that they had the true story to best adjust my horse's treatment plan. While at the barn, the facility deteriorated. Nicole repeatedly commented on how the fences would fall down when the wind blew (a fact which was true). The paddocks were 12" of mud, and the manure was not cleaned out of most of the paddocks. Nicole refused to do any maintenance or upkeep on the facility, seeing as she did not own it. My mare was turned out with a round bale, which was fine until the bale got moldy. My mare is prone to colic and was underweight, but was turned out with only moldy hay in the paddock. When I asked that she be given fresh hay, Nicole noted that she was aware the hay was moldy, and that she was putting new hay out each day. There was nothing edible in this paddock for days, and the moldy round bale remained in place until I left with my mare. Multiple vets advised me to move my mare from the facility. I was rehabbing her from a leg injury, and she simply wasn't gaining weight as she should have been, despite a diet tailored to her needs and medication to help control the Cushing's. I wish I could convey the emotional toll of my time at Nick of Time Equine. My mare ultimately had to be retired while I was boarding there, at which point Nicole's attitude toward me changed completely. I was excluded, was no longer considered a client, and was made to feel as if I were silly for continuing to care for my mare. My search for a retirement facility was met with contempt and threats, all of which was said publicly in front of other clients. I learned that Nicole constantly talked behind my back, and other boarders became hesitant to leave because of the treatment that I received during the time when I was preparing to move. After leaving, I learned that Nicole had been telling other boarders and clients that my vet made up the Cushing's diagnosis just to "shut me up." (I have two rounds of bloodwork proving my horse has Cushing's.) My friend also witnessed her taking my horse's (incredibly expensive) Cushing's medication for her own, to use "for a horse that actually had Cushing's." (There was no other horse with Cushing's at the barn at that time.) Within about two months of leaving the barn, my mare regained all of the weight that she had lost while at the barn. I had to reduce her grain intake from the 12 quarts of grain that she received while at Nick of Time to 4 quarts a day. There may have been other factors affecting her health, but the sudden and dramatic turnaround is evidence that the environment at Nick of Time was not the right setting for her. Six months after I left the barn, Nicole brought my name up to another boarder (a friend of mine) in a derogatory fashion, telling my friend that she was stressing Nicole out, and that she didn't need another "insert my name here." Nicole frequently gossiped and talked badly about previous clients who had left, so this behavior does not surprise me. I understand that barns won't always be the perfect fit, and that disagreements arise in the horse world. I've never left a negative review of a barn before, but feel that I need to warn others about the environment at Nick of Time Equine. Having caught Nicole in multiple lies about my mare, her treatments, and her overall health, I do not feel that it is a safe or healthy place to keep a horse. I hope that anyone considering boarding or riding there will carefully evaluate the facility.
