They are pet friendly which is great because I have a large dog (115lbs) and they are very welcoming to guests and pets. Twice I stayed there during renovations and they had little gift bags for every guest which was a really nice, and unexpected, gesture. There is a little plaza close by where you can get food and gas. The hotel is quiet and has lots of grass for pets to walk around outdoors. I have recommended this hotel to friends and family and will definitely be staying there again the next time I'm travelling through beautiful WV.

It's definitely dated and could use some repair work The bathroom had a toilet seat that wasn't connected to the toilet, so it shifted around a good bit. The toilet seat itself has the kind of wear and tear I'd expect to see in an archeological dig as it had some discoloration and some spots that appeared melted. The bathroom had a riddle as there were two light switches. One worked the light and the other worked the exhaust fan. Sometimes the fan would work independently, but at other times the fan wouldn't work unless the light was. You had to sort out the right combination to make one, the other, or both work. The exhaust fan sounded like it runs on diesel and it sent me a wave of nostalgia as it reminded me of family vacations when my dad would pick the cheapest spot he could find. The room appeared clean, so I consider that a win. The bed was cheap, but we both slept just fine on it. The room was very stuffy when we got in, and as I put a finger on the AC panel, the panel fell off. The good news is that the AC worked. This isn't the worst hotel I've ever been to, but it's definitely not the best.

I frantically searched for something and the Bicentennial popped up in my browser. I am a sucker for charm and service, and I feel that the Inn had both. When we drove up, it reminded me of a large house with it's welcoming white columns. It's right down the street from a bunch of little shops and a Dairy Queen. The lady at the desk was super friendly and informed us of the specials that they were having in their restaurant that night. I made a mental note to come back and check it out for dinner, and we headed up to our room. You can take the stairs or an elevator to get to the 2nd floor. They have laundry facilities, and a section for snacks in the vending area. They host events, and event tell you what all is going on locally. It was a nice change from the typical chain locations. Once we were in the room, I was surprised by the updated look. We had a room with two Queen beds that were loaded up with pillows, and there was a desk and large tv to watch. The bathrooms are a little small, but who cares, you aren't there for that, right?? Next time we head to WVA I would imagine we would check the prices for Bicentennial first. WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. IT WAS LIKE A CRIME SCENE WITH YELLOW TAPE EVERYWHERE. If you read other reviews that sound good, it's because they're from a while ago.
